What's going on with all these price changes? Last time I Checked Matty Cash was due to increase and Jackson decrease.

Pretty much template, nothing wrong with it.

I just would think about Liverpool and Villa players and how you can get them in from GW8-9 when their fixtures are becoming even better than next GW.

For.example, how would you move to Salah, Watkins or TAA without too many hits for rebuilding?

I’ll ignore Salah for sure, the other big hitters still have good fixtures and I don’t think he’s worth the money this year but I’ll move one of Saka/Rash/Son > Diaz/Diaby and then Alvarez/Morris > Watkins/Darwin.

I am definitely taking one hit this week once the pressers are done. Ahamada to Mbeumo. Points will be made up over the next 3.

    My other one could be

    Diaz - Wolves (A), WHU (H), TOT (A)

    To

    Maddison - SHU (H), ARS (A), LIV (H)

Leaning towards keeping Diaz at this point for the next three.

So are all the South American players going to be benched.

WTF lol. What affect has traveling had on players previous season.

This travel story is an FPL myth.

Hang on a minute. Calm down.

This time last year and in other international breaks last year, Klopp rested South American players after an IB.

This was even when Diaz was firing at the start of last season.

Hence, this is why I think he will be benched.

At no point have I said all international break players are benched.

I don't need to tell you Foo, but be careful of buying shiny toys using the sale of other shiny toys. I want Son but not sure it is a good deal by selling Bruno if you know what I mean. I lose .2 with Jackson and Bruno but it is what it is. I am tempted with Morris but is it worth it?

I see every transfer; free or otherwise, a cost of 4 points. Selling Jackson for instance, could end up in tears. Morris in and out must make up 8 points on Jackson.

    Foo stopping digging a hole.

An almost 10,000km flight is a fact not a myth.

Some players will be benched but their physical condition probably won't be assessed till next Friday so there's no point arguing about it now.

It won't affect all players, so Martinez, Ederson and Allison will probably play but players like Alvarez and Diaz and others could well be benched. It's not that difficult to see why and it has happened before.

Yeah, Diaz was benched v Brighton last year, De Zerbi's first match in charge, but came on at half-time for Carvalho as Liverpool were down. No guarantee it will happen again but worth monitoring Klopp's presser.

"In Diaz’s case, a place on the bench comes due to a late return from duty with Colombia, who played Guatemala and Mexico in friendlies in the United States. The winger started the two ties in New Jersey and California, and was arguably in need of a rest having played 90 minutes in each of the last seven games for Liverpool across Premier League and Champions League."

Seems to be very aggressive here today. It is Friday. Let us all chill a little.
I am not stirring the pot but Darwin is more interesting than most.
He does travel and get back late.
He is more likely for rotation than others due to Pool's forwards strength.
He is a very fit guy who has just got back into the side.
He has played less minutes than many. Only 2 games ago he was on the bench.
arguments for both sides and IMHO he does not need to be bought or sold. Wild carders could argue differently. Alvarez is another that is a slight danger.

If I owned or was planning to get Darwin or Diaz I would be wary that Liverpool have this front 3 that could start GW5: Jota, Gakpo, Salah.

Less travelling for those and it’s certainly strong.

Darwin shouldn’t need a rest, but he is prone to the odd injury when the load gets greater; got injured last season after playing weekend and then midweek back to back.

Wolves is a good fixture, shame. Certainly think Diaz and Darwin are first choice, though. Expect that GW6 for certain.

Let us face it. We can surmise but only Klopp and his medical staff will know. I stand by don't buy, don't sell, but this only my take on it. Social media and road rage are symptomatic of us all now and again. I often read back on some of my replies and think " did I really need to say that" Your comment is well founded by the way.

Wait until the Africa Cup of Nations begins in Ivory Coast, 13 Jan till 11 Feb. 2024.

Most will have to play their second wildcard to cover the blanks. Say Salah, Mbeumo, André Onana etc etc.

... but ideally you'd have one left to get your players back in as sides are knocked out and the tournament ends.

They'll be loads of players involved from the Premier League.

Forget about the Afcon right now.

Those loaded on City on Brentford assets for GW18, especially on WC need to plan properly.

      Especially GK's.

I have jumped out of a private plane.

This whole thing about resting the best players because the have traveled on a private plane is an FPL myth.

Sure, sh*t can happen but because I have Alvarez, I won't be benching him.

Whats the consensus on Matt Turner?. Does a remain a safe bet while Hennessey is laid off?

I ask because I'm currently playing him for GW5 with Pickford on my bench. If he's not nailed then remedial action may be needed.

Hennessey's not the issue. They paid good money for a new keeper, Odysseus. Don't think there's any consensus, it's the same situation as with Palace.

I think he may get benched for the new keeper sooner rather than later. Maybe he'll be safe for a bit given his good performances but I think I'm still doing Onana to Leno to be safe

Be interesting to see what people do. Potentially merits to doing nothing, which in a DGW is surprising.

I had a great GW1 bench boosting a Palace keeper and 2 defenders. Now I'm wildcarding, I'm looking to load up with Luton's keeper and 2 defenders. They get Wolves/Everton/Burnley (all low-scoring opponents) before I bench and ease them out for the likes of Verbruggen, Botman and Henry.

        1. Andy_Social
          • 13 Years

I'll add this - rich Andy and other content creators are pushing Morris for the DGW. Not for me - I can see plenty forwards scoring more in their 1 game than Morris in his 2. But defence is another matter - with the paucity of clean sheets, a Luton defender should do better in GW7 than most other 4.5/4.0 options.

I've never liked the term benching headache
It's far too negative in my opinion .
Should be more like "attacking options" as most of us will play 3 at the back .
This gives us the choice of 8 attacking players to rotate picking 7
If you add a free transfer to the front 8 it gives an extra dimension to the squad & keep it up to date
