Happy with him safe on my bench. Not so happy that his alternate could drop down this weekend and has City next.

In short, 0.5m extra for set and forget not going to plan (yet)

Essential is a bit steep but would probably do that move yeah, alvarez looks nailed and is central to the attack atm. Forrest and wolves coming up

I'm in a similar boat and I'm considering B) too. There isn't much downside. Wouldn't want to play saliba in 3 of the next 4 and can play botman in all 4 of them.. and can always swap to a cheaper arsenal defender ie Zinchenko post that if Salibas price remains sky high.

      2. It's not happening for Man U on the whole so that doesn't work well in this game.

For Brighton is Gross going to be the consistent one? Fixtures would suggest that's from gw10.

What's been your biggest mistake so far this season?
And I mean, something over a few GWs - my Rash > Son move didn't pay off, but I don't want to label it a disaster until it's bitten me 3 weeks in a row.

So, for me it's hard to choose between Pickford/Turner as my GK combo, and hanging on to J Pedro so long.

Starting with 343 instead of 352 bit me especially the 4 mids being 2 arsenal and utd. Created no room for maddison, mbeumo etc.

Only now with alvarez in form i got something from 343 tho would hopr jackson can deliver alas

Not sure it’s a mistake but I’m not sure the Salah/no-Salah issue has played out yet and I think he may start notching a series of big scores and separate the camps.

I’m not bending yet; I have a WC to sort it but I’m worried

Yep, with you on that. I'm looking at bringing him in GW9WC. Massive fixture swings and some great runs for a few clubs - chance to completely restructure. Definitely going to monitor.

this... Salah could prove to be decisive and plenty have splurged their wildcard already.

Alvarez, Diaby, Mbeumo etc are all relative easy fixes, not needing a minus 8 points hit or wildcard restructure.

3 clean sheets in 23 league games isn't great but it will be the move discussed and narrative this week along with Alvarez, especially if Jackson doesn't show more composure in front of goal today.

Auto sub is mostly Botman for Estu too. So going to need a few more points today and tomorrow.

With Alvarez and Diaby, Salah and captain on Haaland I'm doing okay tbf. 39 points but that's only a gw rank of around 1.4m. 5 players to go tho.

Good luck. From what I gather Brentford were a touch unlucky but I'll watch the highlights later.

There's also sorts of combos to beat so this analogy of staying with the pack isn't quite right because there's loads of leading packs beating the template so far.

I dropped Bruno (for Maddison) and pretty happy with that - Utd haven’t played badly (my mate who was at the Arsenal match said it was touch and go until the end and they look good in other matches) but they seem in disarray as a club.

I have faith in Poch and think Jackson and Chilwell are good picks (if the latter can muster more than 60 mins)

Being a Rashford owner (not Bruno) he is my one move route to Salah but on another day he could've walked away with a couple of returns. Off the subject but the same goes for Cash. After watching MOTD and his XGI for GW5 I am seriously thinking about getting him rather than Trippier.

I did in pre-season. I haven't given it much thought.

Fulham have been lucky. Man City is Pep.

Guess there's West Ham too. Or possibly Palace but probably not in defence or Newcastle.

Brought Son in the for the SHU game, tempted now to swap him out for someone else for a two-week punt but unsure who to go for. Have midfield of Maddison / Son / Mbeumo / Salah / Saka at the moment. City have Forest up next, and my gut feeling is that Doku could do well here, he looks like a real handful. Any suggestions appreciated!

If you don't have who to buy, then I believe there's no rush to sell

That's a very good midfield so I don't think it needs touching, unless you're going for Rashford vs Burnley et al after his 9 shots vs Brighton

    2. Valar(Keith)
      • 16 Years

The only 2 players I would consider ahead of son are rashford and maybe diaby. There's no rush though. You can even take price hit of 0.1 with son so might as well keep him and see how it plays out and remove with 2 fts if a standout option pops out

I went with the stats with Son, but I actually think the next two games will favour him much more - ARS and LIV will both attack and leave space behind. Plus, NLD always throws up a high-scoring game. Pool looked really open vs Wolves in the first half.

      Get ‘61 minute Chilwell’!

Yes it seems a problem. Combined with five subs and bigger squads, there’s less need for a bench (everyone gets a few minutes) and more focus on the talismanic players.

As people are pointing out, JWP is looking like an interesting addition to that group

Talked about it a bit here

One matchday later, I still don't see how to plan for it other than the most obvious one: get save-point GKs with attacking defs and rotate them away from their hardest games, as clean sheets are pretty unpredictable now. Also the big point of getting attackers who rarely get subbed off, as they're likely to participate in that post-90-mins goal rush... A bit harder to target defenders who get subbed off early, but Chilwell springs to mind and that's about it 😀

Even the point of avoiding rotation risks in attack might be less appropriate than usual, now that the impact sub will likely be involved in the late scurry

2 FT and 0.3 ITB. Any of these moves worthwhile? Will probably do Onana > Areola next week after West Ham's fixtures turn

    A - Watkins > Alvarez
    B - Son > Diaby
    C - Watkins > Edouard

    Onana
    Estu - Chilwell - Ruben
    Son - Saka - Mitoma - Rashford - Mbuemo
    Haaland - Watkins

    Turner - Archer - Botman - Baldock

From goal machine to assist machine, reckon this is Salah's way to wean Liverpool off his dependence.

Get others scoring the goals so he can slip away quietly during the winter window...bet they've made a deal along the lines 'if not within 9 points of the leader on 1st Jan, you can leave'?

nah, it will be the summer. Champions League qualification is too important and lucrative.

But they've got to cope with Thursday to Sunday which screws the training and rest days. The Europa tournament was definitely put together by the TV and money men, not the footballing side of the game.

With the champions league it's obvious that European football just needs a two-leged knock out tournament.

Quite a few goals and assists were also ruled out. But that would have probably made the gap bigger.

Basically plenty of players are performing beyond the early template so loads of people are benefiting and outranking that particular pack.

cool, lots more will get Botman points for Estu on Monday but hopefully it doesn't erode it too far for you.

            It will impact most tho.

Yesterday was decent and exciting football. It helped not doing the Son chasing too.

Here's to more 'fantasy" football today. Five 3 o'clock games and Salah turning things around helped yesterday.

Gameweek from hell, but one positive in selling Foden for Son is having a Man City spot for Alvarez… and last night, exact funds so pulled the trigger.

Really like my team/squad so perhaps just a waiting game for it to come good.

    Bus team

... besides Madds to Sterling that's my front 7.

I see the point in Botman with the league fixtures but is double Newcastle defence a step too far?

Did he offer much assist potential yesterday?

I see all the bonus points went to defenders.

... he'll come good but holding on for a haul whilst others score points isn't the way to play fantasy football.

Plenty of Man Utd bias in pre-season saying 2 or 3 picks were essential. International break gives them time to reset that narrative.

Apparently even yesterday wasn't that bad and Brighton just managed to score with their first 2 chances. Will check out the highlights later.

But Man Utd sit 13th with -4 goal difference and 6 points after 5 games. Ouch!

    WC team essentials?

    Robertson Udogie Cash Botman

I consider Robbo a tad too expensive with the way we're defending and Trent's impact on him when fit. That premium defender is still Chilwell for now, imo, then Estupiñán soon

My GK picks remain the Lenoreola

Pretty down after my latest act of self-sabotage, going Gvardiol over Alvarez as my third City player has cost me 25+ points in two weeks. Early days of course but I’ve already tumbled from 20k to 220k in that time.

Looking at my squad, it looks in decent condition on paper to last until a wildcard in the October international break. What do you think? What needs changing as a priority? Taking a hit to bring in Alvarez? Pickford?

    1FT 2.4ITB
    Pickford
    Chilwell Estupinan Gvardiol

(btw I had Cash on my bench on his megahaul, to be cancelled out by Fodden being introduced at min 87) 🙁

Probably need to give Foden (NOT) but he’s on thin ice, as is Bruno. Best option here? Thinking probably C)

    A) Son -> Rashford
    B) Bruno -> Diaby
    C) Save FT

    Chilwell, Estupinan, Gvardiol
    Saka, Bruno, Sterling, Foden, Son

      I prefer B.

There's an enticing run of fixtures for Villa, but there's Chelsea away, Brighton at home then Wolves to go too first.

Jackson to Alvarez to consider too.

Thinking ahead for next round. What would you do here?

    Leno (Areola)
    Trippier Chilwell Cash Udogie Henry*
    Sterling Maddison Bowen Mbuemo Diaby
    Haaland Alvarez Jackson

    2FT, 3.5ITB

    1. Henry -> Estu or Botman or someone else? Save 1 FT
    2. Jackson -> Nunez & save 1 FT
    3. Maddison / Diaby + Jackson -> Salah + fodder

Injured lad's on the chopping block, surely

I'd be jealous of a Trippier Chilwell Estupiñán backline for GW6

Wouldn't sell Maddison or Diaby any time soon, and Darwin isn't nailed. Maybe just continue rotating the front 8 until there's a clearer Salah route?

Henry is on the block but will wait for the assessment reports to come through tomorrow.

I'm not sure about shipping Maddi because of his multiple routes to points. But will see about Diaby. That would partly also depend on how Jackson performs today.

        Thanks for your thoughts, Austin!
