The following article involves an advertisement for a betting company and is strictly for users aged 18+.

Gameweek 7 is about to begin and Betway have joined in with a couple of Super Boost offers.

These days, it’s rare to see eight Premier League matches on a Saturday but we have six at 15:00 (BST) before Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool in the evening. Just one takes place on Sunday before Monday Night Football and Tuesday’s rearranged Luton Town v Burnley.

WHAT IS THE GAMEWEEK 7 SUPER BOOST?

If you’re new to the Super Boost, it’s effectively enhanced odds on cherry-picked match events.

A trio of match events, to be exact, so you’ll need all three to come in.

On Saturday, Betway are offering 2/1 odds for this treble rather than the original 10/11:

  • Son Heung-min (1+ Shots on Target)
  • Mohamed Salah (2+ Shots)
  • Destiny Udogie (2+ Tackles)

Meanwhile, there’s 6/1 instead of 15/4 on offer for Sunday’s Super Boost:

  • Bryan Mbeumo (1+ Shots on Target)
  • Taiwo Awoniyi (1+ Shots on Target)
  • Morgan Gibbs-White (1+ Shots on Target)

SATURDAY

This week’s boosts focus on two particular matches. The first pitches two in-demand Fantasy Premier League (FPL) midfielders against each other – Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah.

Stats have greatly improved for Son since he moved up front three matches ago. Five goals, whilst his six shots on target average out at two per game. Therefore requiring just one on target seems very reasonable versus a high defensive line that he’s scored past four times in five meetings.

In response, Salah also does well versus Spurs, netting three times last season. He’s a large reason why Liverpool are the leading team for big chances (23) so far, with the Egyptian yet to blank in FPL. He sits in fifth place for attempts (20) and has recorded at least three of them in four of six outings.

Trying to stop him will be left-back Destiny Udogie. He’s made 18 tackles over the latest three games, with 10 in last weekend’s North London derby. Just two are needed here.

SUNDAY

Then, on Sunday, Nottingham Forest host Brentford. These odds are longer and riskier, based on stats, but it’s still very winnable.

An explosive start has quietened for Bryan Mbeumo, blanking in three of his last four. Each match still averages two shots inside the box, ranking joint-fourth for big chances (seven).

Slightly behind in joint sixth is Taiwo Awoniyi, with five of them. His seven-match streak of goals is over and he’s had no shots on target in three successive games but two of these were trips to Chelsea and Manchester City. There’ll be confidence in getting back on the score sheet here.

Team-mate Morgan Gibbs-White is currently on just two shots on target so far and is yet to register a ‘big chance’. Then again, his final seven appearances of last season brought three goals, five assists and seven on target.

JWP or Gordon are good replacements.

Of course Mbeumo could haul this GW but Brentford are not looking all that stable at the moment.

      Went EZe over Mbumbo.

Those first 4 weeks were brutal.

I think Eze is a better player (and Mbuemo was fortunate). 2 Pens, the 93rd minute goal, and one good one.

      Eze been so unlucky.

I’m mad I benched Saliba for Estupinan last minute. Did this with Diaby over Morris last week and it cost me :/

Those who sold Saka have their reasons but if you had Saliba and Saka should have started them.

Bournemouth defence is ravished with injuries plus Solanke is a doubt.

Yes but you also told me to discard Walker a few weeks ago and now he's one of the best defenders in the game... so not sure how much weight that carries 😀

Well you can keep Walker if you want. Cheaper defenders will outscore him.

Plus if you want triple City attack which will happen, you are stuck.

          Keep him then.

Perhaps lol. I remember when Palace lost to Liverpool 9-0, and drew the next 0-0, we drew 1-1, then won 1-0 and 2-1. Different game in 89/90 though. I think nEale was right in his scout picks. A wounded dog has been that way historically.

As much as West ham probably will do well against Sheffield people seems to forget that when a team gets that sort of brutal result they respond well, because unlike the 3-0 or 2-0 loss it goes right into the dignity and self-respect of players and staff. That usually doesn't mean they get to play good football overnight but it often results in a gritty and resolute style of play.
Long post concluded, I think Sheffield are so weak that West ham will win, but it's going to be more in the region of 1-0 or 2-0. Even a 2-1.

I think Gordon is more so. Being on 4 YCs dissuades most engaged managers so he's lower owned and higher risk.

Definitely. I think it was not a good week to WC for him. His original team was very strong.

I reckon I can make this my thing, kind of a running gag... "hey, who did this Cruyff bloke bench this week?"... And then laugh hysterically..

    Last week - Mitoma - didn't start - benched - 14 points.

    This week - Saka - didn't train - benched - xx points.

    Next week....

Higgenbottom wasn't until the mid 80's but he was crap.

          BBC just posted this

Big day for young Jack Hinshelwood who makes his first Premier League start for Brighton.

The 18-year-old midfielder comes from a long line of footballers, including his dad Adam, who made 100 league appearances for the club during the Withdean era, before turning to coaching and management.

Jack’s great grandfather Wally played for Fulham, Chelsea, Reading and Bristol City. Wally’s sons Paul and Martin both played for Crystal Palace, with Martin going on to coach and manage the Albion.

Martin’s son Danny, who is Jack’s uncle, also played for Albion and Portsmouth.

            Thats for that.

Paul played at RB but sadly passed away last year. His brother, Martin was the better player but alas was always injured and his career was cut short.

Play in that team of the 80's

I'm not saying it isn't your right but what's point in people crying about it and at the same time supporting it. We all have choices in life. These people need to feed their kids . Ad revenue is probably their biggest source of income. You are asking a company to lose profit to keep a few happy. It's a company that pays wages and has high running costs. How else are they meant to fund it? Not everything is black and white bro

No argument with the gambling thing. I get that but

So I am not to offer my opinion on what I consider damaging to many? Feeding kids? It is not about that at all. Clearly IMO Scout are selling there souls. I was here a long time before gambling was on here. For sure, I am looking for alternatives. Everyone must feed their kids bur I would consider how I went about it.

They all sold their soles and sold FPL out as soon as they all started monetising. That isn't just Scout , that's all the content creators you possibly watch and support too but anyway, business need to make money. I can't imagine a website like this could survive without the ad revenue

Plenty of web ads to make money from that are not gambling related - I think you're conflating the issues. It seems an unusual industry to be defending IMO.

Maybe go and have a pop at the actual betting sites as well then. I'm not defending it . I don't bet because I choose not to. If I wanted to have the odd bet I would. Some people enjoy a bet and not everyone is prone to spiralling out of control with it . Are you meant to just cancel everything out in life to protect a small minority ? Nothing would function if we did that

They have more competition now . I expect they have to pay more running costs for hosting and redundancy etc due to the explosion of FPL over the years. They also never used to pay their writers which they do now. Although it's debatable wether they should have to tbf as they all say the same stuff and I bet there are many would could do just as well and offer to write out of enjoyment.

Sadly with the way these people have been falsely marketed as professionals and elite etc it means they have to pay more to stop other sites poaching them. I've heard the the hub pays about £150 per article and for what? To tell people in their own words what the robot tells them to do.

I'm really liking the diversity in teams I'm seeing now.

Some are on WC, some WC'd last week, others are limping along with United mids planning to WC in 8 or 10, some went Morris etc.

Feels like FPL is in a good place and there's good ground to gain (and lose). Timing is the most important thing going forward because there are loads of great assets who will all most likely do well. It becomes then a question of did you get them in early enough and did you sell before a dry spell.

Yeah Haaland being out would make things even more interesting.

Everyone would have Salah instead but budget would then no longer matter and captaincy would play a bigger part.

I agree. Few weeks back seemed everyone was talking same team.
Now there's the Salah and no-Salah camps, and as you say the timings of WC has shaken things up.
Interesting in mini-leagues at the moment.

Yes this is good to see.

6 points separate the top 6 in our mini-league.

The game is so much better when teams aren't simply based on a template formed by a few content creators. Diversity certainly makes it more interesting.

I feel like there’s hardly any diversity - everyone has the same strikers, keepers and defence. The only real variety comes from midfield, where still everyone has at the same 3 at least.

          I'm seeing different keepers.
Trippier and non-Trippier owners in defence.
And those with 3rd playing striker.
Think there's enough variety for me to make it interesting.

Keepers are basically Areola + Leno or Turner.
Trippier only really became talked about this week, and he’s already on his way to being template.
Most have Haaland and Alvarez up top - third striker is Archer or Awoniyi depending on formation.

That’s how it is on here at least.

No one has the same defenders because no one can agree who's good. They are remnants from the GW1 template and that's falling apart because of Chilwell, Estupinan, Saliba no longer being as desirable.

Attack there is only really one spot and it's like 80/20 Alvarez Morris.

Midfield as you say has the most variety and since that's where most of the points are, the diversity is definitely at the highest point it's been since the start of the game. WCs have also greatly impacted things.

A midfield of Salah, Maddison, Diaby, Bowen, Saka vs Rashford, Son, Foden, Mbeumo, Fernandes

Is going to score completely different and yet each of those midfields looks decent for this week. There is a bit of overlap but not enough to make everything the same. It's a good place.

Defence is basically Estu, Cash, Newcastle at the minute.
Everyone’s midfield has Saka, Maddison, Mbeumo, Salah and/or Son with the odd Mitoma, Diaby, United, Bowen.

Loads of people sold Saka this week. Not everyone went Maddison, a lot went Sterling in GW4. The non-WCers most don't have Salah.

It's really nowhere near as similar as you claim.

Having 5-6 differences between teams is a LOT in this game and I'm seeing ML rivals with up to 8 differences to mine.

I’m on about here - 99% of RMTs are identical with Haaland as a permacap.

It’s a far cry from even a few years ago where you had the likes of Hazard, Alexis, Lukaku, Kane, Ozil, Alli, Aguero, Costa, Fabregas, De Bruyne all firing so teams were vastly different.

Those teams were only different because FPL managers were not as knowledgeable as they are now. This year, there are genuinely a lot of viable options. Certainly a lot better than last year at least.

It's the staggered wildcards. Soon enough the hive mind will be back to one acceptable template. Did you see on the wildcards in the past week? Nearly identical

The pricing has made it possible because losing a bit of team value doesn't hurt so much and allows for more mixing it up

Need to react to fixtures this season to attack the weak teams, don't be afraid to take hits and back the likes of Sterling or Foden or Maddison or Neto or Bowen or JWP or whomever because it's easy to own any player if you forgo Salah ... don't believe the hype that you must have Rashford & Bruno & Salah & Saka & Jackson etc .... decide for your self and don't be a sheep following the Twitterati pack

Chase the upside, don't be afraid to take a hit and enjoy the game 🙂

Yep. Just had a look at my engaged ML rival's team. We literally only have Haland and Alvarez in common in our front 7s. So nice

        Agree with you camzy.
So much diversity in my MLs
Quite few have watkins (held since GW1) some got Morris this week, & others alvarez
Lot of variety on defence & Midfield is between any 5 of 20 different players

Any news on Saka, Botman and Maddison. I played safe and switched Saka to Foden. Probably shouldn’t have done that. Feel like my WC got me in deep trouble

It's why young players choose Brighton over 'bigger clubs'. They know they'll get a chance.

Which young players turned down a “big” club for Brighton?

Many, young players turn down "bigger" clubs when deciding on which teams academy to join, its pretty common where they have a better route to the first team.
