    Prediction for Monday night 10pm.

All the Spurs-less gameweek 10 wildcards suddenly have Spurs players in them again.

I think Calvin Bassey coming in for Diop might be bad for Fulham's defence here

But if Leno dons his superhero cape with Palhinha as his trusty sidekick, it's gonna be a looooong night for Ange

I think you might be right. Everyone expects Fulham to be wide open defensively, but Silva knows how to pull off a suffocating low block.

    Weighting up potential transfers here

Is Ben White worth the extra dosh over Gabriel?

Also do we think Nunez will start getting the nod to start? Want to keep him but can’t be bothered with the rotation headache, especially as I can afford to move to Watkins

      Gabriel is fine.

Nunez and Co. play the tougher world cup qualifiers next time in Nov.

Feels so wrong doing Alvarez to Watkins.

What are people with Alvarez doing?

Are they going 3-4-3 or how do you get Watkins?

Completely undecided here, I have a front three of Haaland, Alvarez and Darwin and if Darwin begins to start I’d like to keep him.

Alvarez has the worst fixtures but City always do well against the better teams in the league . Toughie here

Skipping Watkins. Prioritizing this combo: Haaland Salah Son Saka Maddison Alvarez Trippier. Alvarez being cheaper than Watkins allows this to be possible, so I'm not ignoring that gift

Also, a reminder that Alvarez scored the only goal vs Newcastle, and has free kicks. Dude's an easy hold for a long time

Saka vs Watkins feels like more of the debate, but I think Saka wins with extra points as a mid

Curious to hear folks thoughts on Alvarez vs Watkins.

Is Watkins the clear pick due to fixtures or is Alvarez a better pick regardless of fixtures as he has plays for a better attacking team, open play threat and on set pieces?

      big price difference of course.

      both good picks.

but if you've got Salah you probably have Alvarez because you can't afford Watkins.

Should've specified ignoring price difference. Salah, Alvarez and Watkins are achievable in a 343 setup

I like a striker to take pens. It’s always a useful source of points when a team isn’t playing well on the day. I’d stick with Alvarez here purely because of the Man City fixture.

        • 6 Years

Agreed, always nice to have more routes to points. For info both Watkins and Alvarez don't have pens.

      Honestly, no right answer

      It's even easy to have both, but a 3-4-3 and/or no Salah/Haaland

Toss Son, Saka and Trippier into the mix, and someone's gotta be left out due to budgetary constraints. It's just the way the season is right now, and it means there's a clear template (the assets you'll see most often in RMTs here) but it's not as small as it was last season

Afternoon all 🙂 Hope your gameweeks are going well.

As someone who likes a transfer hit or two when the urge takes me, I’ve been very cautious this season (just the one -4). It’s undoubtedly cost me as the top FPL scorers like Salah and Trippier are continuing to return. Despite neither of these FPL galacticos, I’m doing alright this GW on 53 points.

    What would your advice be?

    a. Son to Salah (exact money for free)
    b. Mbeumo + Sterling to Salah + 4.4m mid
    c. Mbeumo + Maddison to Salah + Palmer
    d. Gusto to Trippier

    Merci beaucoup

      1. Twisted Saltergater

And take a Mbeumo price drop at some point on the chin? Maybe I ignore Salah (I have Darwin and Tsimikas) and get Diaby or Saka, but Salah is the obvious captain option.

Mbeumo might not even drop after his haul yesterday although casual power in the transfer market seems less these days. Saka could work... great fixture coming up.

Have you already wildcarded? Only reason i ask is that Tsimikas and Lascelles look like transfers waiting to happen. You should be alright on a 343 though, as Robertson seems to be out for a few weeks. I'd be tempted to do Diaby down to Mitoma (as you've got Watkins for the Villa cover) - this would give you Brighton attacking cover and also 0.2 back.

Lascelles I agree, but Tsimikas should be starting until Xmas. Diaby -> Mitoma a nice shout. Not sure whether the endless other Brighton injuries are a good or bad thing for Mitoma - I guess it is is good for his xMins.

Crystal Palace not a bad fixture for spurs but after that the fixtures are horrendous.

    My team atm

    Turner Areola
    Cash burn porro Taylor Lamptey
    Son salah madisson bowen anderson
    Haaland hojlund Alvarez

How do i use my 2ft and 0.2itb
    1. Hojlund and Bowen to Wood and Saka
    2. Hojlund and Bowen to DCA and saka
    3. Madisson to Martinelli and save 1ft
    4. Madisson and Lamptey to Martinelli and Lascelles
    5. Madisson and burn to Saka and Lascelles.
    6. Son and Hojlund to Saka and Watkins

Option 6 looks good but i will be priced out if any increase/decrease in prices and i will like to wait till the deadline as I don’t have any playing benches in case of injury before game.

    Please suggest

Also like 6. But agree on waiting given a lot of European fixtures this week.

If not 6, I'd go with 3. You have cover in defence so no rush to make the defensive transfer. Better off holding the transfer and having 2 next week

    Haaland Alvarez Watkins

I like Foster, fwiw. 5 returns in 7 games against a wide range of opposition, at 5.0

I think Mbeumo to Diaby might be all you need here. If you've got the extra 0.7m or so, I'd rather go Maddison to Saka than lose Son, as Son seems far more explosive so can be capped more often

Well done with the rest of the team

Thankyou mate!!! Yeah in only got Foster in this week as part of getting Salah, only 2nd blank of the season yesterday and still should have had an assist!! Burnley player missed a sitter!!! Mbeumo to Diaby a sound move. Madding and Mbeumo to Saka and Neto could be an option too!! Thankyou mate!! Appreciate the feedback!!

Yeah that could be the move mate!! Or even D.Luiz at Villa, 3 goals in 3 home games and on pens

I'd want some open-play threat from pen/set-piece takers, and D Luiz lacks that. Hwang and Neto are the main goal threats for their team, while you already have the impressive Gordon

See how Soucek does today. If he's advanced/box-crashing again, I think that's lovely with the upcoming fixtures. I've been tooting for his bandwagon 😀

Soucek/Palmer (mid) + Foster (fwd) might be the surprise enabling duo of the season

Yeah fair points there mate absolutely right too!! Watched Match of the Day last night and was so impressed with Neto!! Should have hauled yesterday!! Oooh Soucek an interesting one!! Will keep an eye out for him today see how advanced and involved he is!! Palmer a great shout too and on pens!! A real bargain potentially !!

What a bad season. 90 points behind in ML. Which move is better?

    A) saka, son > salah, palmer
    Or
    B) haaland, mbeumo > salah, alvarez

    1. Mirror Man

        Both are counterproductive.

I wouldn't do either. But if forced to choose, maybe B... As Mbeumo is the only one of those 4 I'd be fine with losing, and Salah seems better than Haaland as a captain for the next few

If you’re benching Palmer most weeks then A.

I don’t get why anyone would go without Haaland unless short term to captain Salah every week, but it’s quite possible to have both and a good team.

I’d try trimming the fat elsewhere and then turn Mbeumo + another mid into Salah plus cheapie.

      Bench too light? (WC)

      Turner/Areola

      Salah Saka Maddison Bowen Diaby
      Haaland Alvarez

      Archer Lascelles Taylor

Son, striker. Their points are only this close because of Son's first 3 out wide. Since Son moved up top:

        Son: 46 points. 6G 0A
        Maddison: 25 points. 1G 3A

And to counter a point I've seen here often: Son was subbed off before the 80th minute in all three games where he scored his six goals; 68th minute vs Liverpool as well. Still almost double Maddison's points

I just want to give a shout out to Mbeumo (if he’s reading this haha). He played 75 mins in Russia for Cameroon then 90 mins away to Senegal over the IB. Then put in a brilliant performance for Brentford yesterday creating the first goal and scoring the second.

To think I almost benched him.

Footballers get a lot of criticism and this level of performance/consistency often goes unnoticed. Massive respect.

(Will still be selling you for Salah or Saka, no offence 😆 )

People see the numbers of pens for Liverpool and thinking this can't keep up. They might not, but to understand the difference in numbers from last season, apart from the arbitrarily with pens (one could argue that is a chance thing, and non predictable, and to a certain extent it is) there is some factors.
Liverpool are clearly a better team this year, and most importantly, they now have a lot of players that are tricky players, who's not afraid to go down if tackled. Szobo vs Hendo, Macalister vs Fabinho, etc. Add the likes of five attackers adding into the pool, there will be a lot more situations in the box.
To give example of pen takers that are not essential, is Eze. You can get lucky with a handball from time to time, but Palace players won't get tripped to often inside the penalty box. Hence, fewer pens
        Same with Solanke.
Trying to justify going without Salah because pens will not keep up I think will be a dangerous thought. Won't get one at this succession rate, but they will come regularly.

Martinelli and Saka don’t get as many hauls as they should. I think it’s because they’re encouraged to keep the width (bit like Grealish and Foden’s problem).

I’d go Odegaard based on open plays but Saka because of pens.

I don't know but I have watched Saka play for majority of his matches and he is getting that much better each season.

If I wanted a Salah replacement for LFC it would be Saka but that is wishful thinking 😆
