  1. Eze Really?

I try to use a simple bit of arithmetic to work out good calls.
I take XGI over 10 games for an individual player.
I take out the highest and lowest to avoid distortions (Such as Watkin's 23 point haul)
I take the XGC of the team they play against over the opposition XG to get team related performance.
I use this to extract the expected XGI per individual side.
The bottom line is XG is not good enough on its own; the competition they play against is a key factor.
I can only presume expected points algorithms are somewhat similar but rarely updated on a regular basis.
Expected minutes is important considering when the player was on the pitch. Coming on with 20 minutes to go is better than the first 20 minutes in a game; outlined by when goals are actually scored,

Surely it's worth it. We should use rating when assessing results. In chess it's ELO. I don't know if this is done well and published, but I am considering writing a model to Excel. Anyone who cares to join with the work?

Playing 20 minutes in the beginning doesn't count. No-one is subbed off after that barring injury.

I get you. Where I am coming from is not a player being on the pitch for the first 20 minutes; more about XG rising in the last 20. Hence minutes per XG is superfluous. As is the case with Darwin as an example.
I would love to have a breakdown of goals scored/conceded every 10 minutes over the 110 minute a team might play,

        Why not?
Best top of the page comment I've seen in a while
I like the taking out of highest and lowest scores in calculation.
Think I'll do this for captain choice this week, coz it's a toughie
        Thanks

Who is a bigger priority out of Watkins or Saka?

Cannot have both unless I sell Son or Alvarez for a hit which just doesn't seem worth it.

    My options are:

    A) Maddi to Saka
    B) Maddi & Archer to Palmer & Watkins
(Palmer is bench fodder though so might just go for someone cheaper)

But not the expensive of Trippier, Salah, Alvarez or Son

He can get Saka, Watkins and Trippier if he does not own him.

I'm going B, just have to accept Saka's haul v Shef utd and hope he blanks away to New next week. Watkins could haul the next few weeks. I'll reassess Saka for GW12.

Why is everyone certain Saka will even play against Sheff Utd? He needs a rest and if there was one game to rest him in it would be Sheff Utd.

It will be funny when Arteta starts him and subs him off on 55 mins.

He'll only be subbed off when they are 3 or 4 goals up... by that point he's likely hauled.

Yeah Watkins probably higher owned as well. His points are gonna do real damage to the rank from this week onwards.

      I'd prioritise Watkins

What would u change here? I have 2 FT-s and of course WC. Zero in bank.

    Pickford (Turner)
    Tripp Saliba Porro Coufal (Reguilon)
    Salah Son Mitoma Mbuemo (Nakamba)
    Haaland Alvarez (Morris)

I know that my 1st priority is to bring Watkins in, but understandably it means losing Alvarez and/or Son. Additionally bring in Madd, Bowen, JWP, Diaby or Neto alongsode with Watkins and -4pts, depending on combo.

    What would u do?

Ok. I can also do Alvarez, Son -> Watkins, Bowen (or any for 7.9m (without -4pts)

    Areola (Turner)
    Udogie Cash Burn (Taylor Anderson)
    Salah Maddison Son Bowen Neto
    Haaland Alvarez (Archer)

    2FT £0.7m

I'd love to get Watkins and/or Saka in but can't see an obvious way as I don't love losing anyone in midfield. Thoughts very welcome:

    a) Maddison > Saka
    b) Maddison + Archer > Watkins + bench fodder £4.3 mid
    c) Taylor > Tsimikas

I'm very similar (Diaby instead of Bowen) - I need to get Watkins in but can't do it without sacrificing Son and Alvarez
& even then I can't afford Son to Saka....

How to get Watkins might be the question of the week

With the rise to form of Salah it’s really tempting to go no Haaland. His massive cost, plus ‘poor’ form without KDB, makes the possibility of spreading the value around the squad, which is especially important over the heavy Xmas schedule, quite tempting. Can then bring him back in January wildcard for second half of season with all the DGW where we surely will need him generally and as a TC option.

    Transfers I can do with his value;

    - Haaland to Watkins,
    - Wissa to Isak,
    - Gordon to Son
    - Baldock to White
    - 4.0 to Romero

    Would leave me with;

    Sanchez, Areola,
    Trippier, White, Romero, Cash, Botman,
    Salah, Saka, Son, Maddison, Palmer,
    Watkins, Alvarez, Isak,

Would certainly leave me with benching headaches but wow the value is spread so well.

Or, don’t be silly, keep Haaland, you will regret Immediately when he scores a Harry and you don’t have…

I’m doing it with the loose strategy of bringing Haaland back GW16 (or Jan WC like you say). Prefer Darwin over Isak with Liverpool fixtures though.

I hadn't really thought about no haaland.. now realising i could swap him out for a few weeks and get him back on WC since I still have mine. Hmmm

I'm seriously thinking Haaland to Watkins & then I can take out someone like Neto to Saka and have cash left over (and potentially bring Haaland back when fixtures improve

Well I’ve risked not having Haaland so far and I think until kdb returns I hope to be ok but you never know with that Great Dane , not having him has allowed my team to rise in value too 103.1 now.
      Turner. Leno
      Trip-coufol-saliba digneTarkowski
      Saka salah son maddi mitoma

Ditch Haaland because he's a waste of money. I've went from 3.7m to 750k in the two weeks since I wildcarded him out.
