Like most people, had a terrible gw.
    Which do you prefer?
    A) Cash to Gabriel
    B) Alvarez/Watkins to Nketiah
    C) Roll

    Flekken Turner
    Trippier Cash Tsimi Tark Baldock
    Salah Son Mitoma Diaz Palmer
    Haaland Alvarez Watkins

Confident you’ll have a playing GK next week? I’d look to fix that. Maybe Cash to Palace def otherwise.

You’ve got a great front 8, so I wouldn’t rush for Nketiah. See if Haaland is ok before getting rid of Alvarez or Watkins.

Good point. I heard it was just a dead leg for Flekken.
It'd have to be Areola or Pickford if I do replace him....
        Cheers

Ah wasn’t fully aware of the Flekken scenario. Def seems Turner is dropped.
Not sure you need to do much then really. Trip/Tsimi/Tark decent enough backline for next week, but I’m certainly looking to get rid of cash for a CP def.

Yeah, been considering that, although I'm not sure this week is right to lose Cash. Guess I just need to wait until later in the week to get updates on Flekken/Cash/Haaland. Cheers!

I’m not on the Saka train, so don’t think so. If maddy is definitely injured (which I don’t think he is), I suppose I’d consider.

Not sure how long Maddison is injured for, but just a bit cautious having triple Spurs now, with injuries/suspension they aren't as appealing. Arsenal have nice fixtures, Saka is tempting.

Well, if you're not willing to sell Haaland, don't want to take a hit and really want Saka then yes. I wouldn't personally, I haven't been impressed with Arsenal nor Saka recently.

Team is like last night’s game, an absolute warzone. News on Cash and Haaland sounds positive though.

Set to Maddison to Saka with my free. Feels like a -4 would be worth it due to other risks and long term upside.

    Botman to (up to 4.8)..,
    A) maguire (great fixture this week then not great, always risk he drops out)

Not sure it's worth keeping both of Son and Maddison. And think Udogie has to go.

Or other suggestions with 2 FTs and 1.2 mill. in the bank?

    Areola
    Andersen (CRY), Cash, Tsimikas
Salah (VC), Son, Maddison, Mbeumo, Diaby

I'm not really keen on splitting them tbh. If Maddison was out for a while it would have a substantial effect on Son's output but I love the double up & expect a lot more Maddi A / Son G combos. Personally I would just bench Maddi if he's out this week; Archer - Nketiah or Udogie - Gabriel (?) could cover him...?

Out of curiosity are you still thinking of selling Diaby this week? Think I've gone a bit cold on it given Spurs' issues at CB now with Bournemouth after

This does change my thinking. VDV has been crucial to their high line & Romero's absences have always caused some issues.

Leaning more toward upgrading Osula to Nketiah if Maddi is a doubt/out, or maybe just roll FT if he's ok.

I'd say Gordon is better for the immediate short-term, but also will still be good long-term.

In the immediate short-term (next 2 games) Palmer has two of the toughest fixtures possible. He does done well till now, but also 3 penalties in the last 4. Obviously fixtures improve soon though.

FWIW I've got both. Plan before last night (and maybe still is) to play Gordon & bench Palmer.

Darwin I think, but it does depend on your read of the Jesus situation. I am tempted to get Nketiah, especially if Maddison is a doubt for this GW, but I'm not sure if its worth the extra FT to remove him again after the IB. Darwin will always miss some chances but I still see him as a medium/long-term hold

I've seen a few posts on bringing Darwin in, but any Darwin owner's thinking of getting rid? He was a fun punt and worked out ok, but he's too much of a headache. I know it's Brentford at home next, but I'm doubting whether he even starts. Hasn't had a run of game all season:

    GW4 - Started
    GW5 - Off the bench.
    GW6 - Started
    GW7 - Didn't feature.
    GW8 - Started
    GW9 - Off the bench.
    GW10 - Started
    GW11 - Started

Then the week after the international break, Liverpool go to Man City. I know it's all guesswork, but I get the feeling Klopp will revert back to DIaz - Jota - Salah and use Darwin as an impact sub. Too much overthinking or a good time to get rid if you have 2 FT's?

    1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 5 Years
      2 years, 1 month ago

I can understand thinking about it but I like the next few games. At home to Brentford (who are normally good against the top 6 but are still poor at home), City (tough but that game could be a goalfest if the likes of Nunez and Doku play given their direct style), Fulham and Sheffield Utd. He is going to frustrate, I'm not sure he'll stop doing that at any stage very soon but he's still very capable and I think these next two will suit him

GW7 had that cartilege issue, GW9 cramps in the Brazil game cited as reason for benching. Gakpo has been pretty poor up top this season from what I've seen. And I think the missed chances don't entirely detract from the fact that he just causes so many problems for defenders & looks crucial to the style that Liverpool want to play with his direct running, aerial ability & linkup with Salah. I'm not really not concerned about his place. It is certainly possible he is used as an impact sub v City but I still expect him to start the vast majority of games

Worth benching Burn to have 2ft next week?

    Tsim, Cash, Guehi (Burn, Taylor)

    if unclear on Thursday night whether Cash/Tsim will start then which is best;

    a) Burn > Gabriel
    b) Burn > Lascelles + 0.8m ITB

Time to WC? Think it's time to get Trippier, Salah and sort out the GKs

    Turner, Flekken*
    Cash*, Guehi, Burn*, Tsimikas, Baldock
    Saka, Son, Maddison*, Bowen, Eze
    Haaland*, Alvarez, Watkins

I'd probably wait for pressers - if Cash and Flekken are fine you have a decent team for this week

Just sold Trippier myself. Not so sure he will be delivering the same returns over the short/medium term given injuries and so possibly be more restricted in his attacking role.
