As feared and predicted, the managers of Everton, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United hold their pressers until Wednesday – after the FPL deadline has passed.
We rounded up all the injury news we know about those four clubs in this article.

TUESDAY’S PRESS CONFERENCE TIMES

MANCHESTER CITY
Jack Grealish and Rodri are suspended, while Pep Guardiola couldn’t tell us whether Jeremy Doku has joined Kevin De Bruyne (hamstring) on the injury list after the winger came off against Spurs.
“Training this afternoon. I still didn’t talk with the doctors and we’ll see after.” – Pep Guardiola on Jeremy Doku
Matheus Nunes (muscle) was described as “weeks, days” away from a return in last Friday’s pre-match presser, so remains a doubt for the trip to Villa Park.
John Stones, an unused substitute in the last three competitive matches, is fit.
“He was ready last game, he’s ready now – he’s ready.” – Pep Guardiola on John Stones
Guardiola said that Kalvin Phillips has a “chance” of being involved in the absence of Rodri, although responded in the affirmative when asked by a reporter if Stones could start as a ‘six’.
“[Stones] can play there. Manuel Akanji as well, Nathan Ake as well.” – Pep Guardiola
CHELSEA
Reece James and Marc Cucurella return from suspension but Conor Gallagher serves a one-match ban after his dismissal last weekend.
Ben Chilwell (hamstring), Wesley Fofana (knee), Trevoh Chalobah (hamstring), Carney Chukwuemeka (knee) and Malo Gusto (knee) have been joined on the injury list by Noni Madueke (muscle) and Lesley Ugochukwo (muscle).
Romeo Lavia (ankle) and Christopher Nkunku (knee) are inching closer to a comeback after rejoining training but won’t be involved against Manchester United.
“[Nkunku] is not involved tomorrow. It is like we always tell you, it’s about assessing day by day. Sometimes we get excited and we want to have the player as soon as possible but I think we need to be careful.
“Romeo is doing well also but still, like Christopher, will not be involved tomorrow.” – Mauricio Pochettino
LIVERPOOL
Andrew Robertson (shoulder), Stefan Bajcetic (calf), Thiago Alcantara (hip), Alisson (muscle) and Diogo Jota (muscle) have been joined on the sidelines by Joel Matip (knee), who Jurgen Klopp expects to be out for a while.
“It doesn’t look good, that’s something we can say. The scan is not done yet so we don’t know exactly, but it is not great.
“From the first second it was clear, spoke to him: that’s not good. How long, I don’t know.” – Jurgen Klopp on Joel Matip
“[Jota] was running yesterday outside – on his birthday! Everything is going in the right direction but nobody told me he will be back in team training today. No, here’s still some time.
“With Ali, the same. Obviously, Ali is closer but not available for tomorrow, definitely.” – Jurgen Klopp on Diogo Jota and Alisson
Kostas Tsimikas was namechecked by his manager in Tuesday’s presser, confusingly in a question about Trent Alexander-Arnold and his possible role in midfield.
“It’s just about us, what do we have available? Is Joe [Gomez] there, is Conor [Bradley] there? They both are there, will one of them have to play left-back because Kostas can’t play all the games, you have to see… Yes, Trent can play in midfield, we always knew that, but Trent can play the role we gave him now very well, as well.” – Jurgen Klopp
BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION
Roberto De Zerbi said that assessment is still ongoing on his Brighton players after the defeat to Chelsea but the expectation is that it will be a very similar group of players that faces Brentford.
De Zerbi will check tomorrow as to whether Kaoru Mitoma can start after his fitness-led benching in Gameweek 14.
Solly March (knee), Danny Welbeck (muscle), Julio Enciso (knee), Adam Webster (unspecified), Pervis Estupinan (muscle), Ansu Fati (muscle) and Tariq Lamptey (muscle) are on the sidelines through injury, while Lewis Dunk and Mahmoud Dahoud remain suspended.
CRYSTAL PALACE
Roy Hodgson said that “nothing’s changed” regarding Eberechi Eze‘s ankle injury, with the midfielder continuing to be monitored on a “day-to-day basis”.
Earlier in the week, Hodgson had said that Eze could be out for a while but then confusingly added that the playmaker was going to attempt to return to training.
Cheick Doucoure (Achilles), Rob Holding (ankle), Jesurun Rak-Sakyi (hamstring), Dean Henderson (thigh) and Nathan Ferguson (hamstring) are still on the injury list.
Jeffrey Schlupp returns to the matchday squad after missing out in Gameweek 14 due to personal reasons.
ASTON VILLA
Boubacar Kamara returns from a one-match ban, so long-term absentees Tyrone Mings (knee) and Emi Buendia (knee) are the only players who are definitely on the sidelines for the visit of the reigning champions.
Bertrand Traore (unspecified) may be out, too, having returned from international duty with an injury and not played a part since.
Unai Emery said in Tuesday’s presser that some of his players are “tired and have small pains” but expects them to be available to face Manchester City.
“We played on Thursday, on Sunday, we’re going to play tomorrow, we play on Saturday again at home. Every day is very important, how the players are recovering after the last match.
“I can’t know today how we’ll be tomorrow, the players. We’re going to meet tomorrow morning and we’re going to decide.
“I know some players are tired, or have small pain, but I think tomorrow the players are going to be available and ready because every player wants to play matches like that, at home.
“But I’m going to decide as well trying to be responsible with my choice about the players.” – Unai Emery
MANCHESTER UNITED
With the broadcast section of Erik ten Hag’s press conference dominated by talk of dressing room discord and another disappointing defeat at the hands of a top-half club, the Manchester United boss wasn’t asked about the club’s injury situation.
Ten Hag did, however, later speak to MUTV and reveal that Mason Mount (calf), Jonny Evans (thigh), Amad Diallo (knee) and Christian Eriksen (knee) are close to a return but still absent.
“There are some positives. But not back already in the squad. More or less [the same group of players available], yeah.” – Erik ten Hag
Jadon Sancho (disciplinary), Casemiro (ankle), Tyrell Malacia (knee) and Lisandro Martinez (foot) are definitely out.
“We are not robots. If you play three games in six days, tough games, by the end, fatigue can be an issue. It can never be an excuse but it is there. Against Galatasaray, against Everton, we played very good. Against Newcastle, we were not happy with our performance and we are the first to say. The players are the first, and so self critical that they admit this. We know and we have to do better than this.” – Erik ten Hag on the Newcastle defeat
BRENTFORD
Brentford will again be without long-term absentees Aaron Hickey (hamstring), Kevin Schade (muscle), Rico Henry (knee), Josh Dasilva (hamstring) and Ivan Toney (suspended), while the trip to Brighton comes too soon for Nathan Collins (ankle).
The Bees were dealt a further blow at the weekend after Christian Norgaard picked up his fifth booking of the season, meaning he’ll miss this fixture.
Kristoffer Ajer (foot) pulled out of the starting XI during the warm-up to face Luton Town and he’s now out for weeks, too.
Mathias Jensen (adductor) is “touch and go” for the clash with the Seagulls but Mikkel Damsgaard is fit for selection.
BOURNEMOUTH
Andoni Iraola said that the Cherries have no new injury concerns from the draw with Aston Villa.
He did, however, add that some players had been ill in the last few days and would have to be assessed.
Lloyd Kelly (hamstring), Max Aarons (hamstring), Tyler Adams (hamstring), Alex Scott (knee) and Ryan Fredericks (calf) were all on the sidelines for Sunday’s clash with the Villans.
Emi Marcondes, who has been absent all season after foot surgery, got his first minutes of 2023/24 in a behind-closed-doors friendly last week.
“We have to wait because it is very tight between games. We have to wait until this training, to see how everyone feels.
“We have a couple of players that are not feeling very well, with colds and feeling a little bit poorly, but I don’t think it is going to be definitive.
“I hope everyone is ready again to help us against Palace.
“No [new] injuries.” – Andoni Iraola
Iraola has kept a settled side during this three-game unbeaten run and explained two of his substitutions from the weekend, when asked if attacking midfielders Antoine Semenyo and Justin Kluivert had been rested for midweek.
“I wasn’t thinking of the next game. I was happy with what I was seeing.
“I was also considering Ant (Semenyo) and Justin (Kluivert) with yellow cards, because they were playing well, they were being a threat offensively.
“They were still with energy. And when I started to see that, probably they lost a little bit of energy, we made the subs.” – Andoni Iraola
FULHAM
Issa Diop (foot), Adama Traore (hamstring), Rodrigo Muniz (knee) and Tyrese Francois (knock) won’t recover for the visit of Nottingham Forest.
Marco Silva said on Tuesday that Adama, who has resumed training, and Muniz could be back “in the next few games”.
SHEFFIELD UNITED
Oli McBurnie begins a two-match ban after his Gameweek 14 dismissal, while Chris Basham (leg), Tom Davies (thigh) and John Egan (leg) remain out.
Returning boss Chris Wilder didn’t provide any update on the injury that forced George Baldock off at Burnley but did reveal that Rhys Norrington-Davies (hamstring) and Rhian Brewster (knee) are back in training, adding that Daniel Jebbison (illness) was “not a million miles away”.
