    Dubravka
    Porro Tsimikas Trippier*
    Salah Son Saka Gordon Palmer
    Haaland* Alvarez

Amissah Archer Branthwaite* Taylor* - 1 FT, 0.2M ITB

Got really unlucky with 3 of my defenders getting suspended for the same GW. If Haaland is out for Palace, I think he's a sell for me especially since I don't see other way of bringing in Watkins (C) for GW18.

    I'm thinking Haaland & Branthwaite/Taylor > Solanke & Udogie -4 pts.
Then I'll have enough money to do Archer > Watkins in 18, and probably get Haaland back in for Salah once he's off to AFCON. Looks reasonable?

It has been agreed that Son Heung-min will fly to Abu Dhabi to join Korea’s camp for the Asian Cup after Spurs play Bournemouth on 31 December. Korea will play a friendly (opposition TBD) on 6 January. The Asian Cup takes place from 12 January to 10 February in Qatar.

Son to miss FA Cup 3rd round at home to Burnley on Jan 5, a potential 4th round tie & the League visit to Manchester United. He would also sit out the games vs Brentford (H), Everton (A) & Brighton (H), depending on S Korea's progress in Asian Cup.

I remember I was laughed at here for suggesting some teams may set up their camps earlier than others and may request players leave at the very end of December instead of a few days before the tournament begins

        Gameweek 20 starts 30th Dec
        Gameweek 20 finishes 2nd Jan

        Gameweek 21 starts 13th Jan
        Gameweek 21 finishes 22nd Jan

Really not sure how the statement above makes any difference if you're trying to take credit for timings.

It still means Son is leaving after GW20 - when we all expected he might. The cup fixtures would have been in midweeks before GW21 which is after the tournament start dates anyway.

Not trying to "take credit" for anything, I'm saying that I said in some cases certain sides may want their players in camp a decent bit earlier than a few days before the tournament starts and a few here said it was a ridiculous idea

Thanks Tony for sharing (and with sources!) as usual. Truly awesome.

Guess we knew it'd be the case with those dates already but such a shame he misses that Manchester United fixture. Haul written all over that.

GW21 doesn't have invredjbke fixtures for some players so going to be iffy saving 2FTs to use in that week.

Three big one we're waiting on is Salah. Expecting him to be made available for GW20 on Monday 1st, but technically could be made to join the squad the morning of the match. Precedent from last tournament suggests he'll be available, but I'm not relying on that just yet.

Will wait until European games are done but what’s the best move here?

    A) Haaland + Mbeumo > Jimenez + Saka (-4) and start Darwin, then can upgrade Darwin straight to Haaland

    B) Haaland + Mbeumo > Solanke + Saka (-4) and bench Darwin, would have to downgrade Solanke to Jimenez to do Darwin to Haaland

So basically, is option B, Solanke over Darwin, this week worth booking in a future transfer?

If I went for option A, I’d have 0.4ITB to upgrade my defence (Schar, Cash, Tsimikas, Colwill, Kabore) in GW18

    Thanks!

Thinking the exact same now, do you think we could survive without Haaland in 19? Everton kept 3 CS in a row 2 at home

Salah is the obvious captain that week as well and Haaland EO might be less than 100

I have a wildcard left so was planning to lose haaland for Watkins next week then bring back on WC. Will likely go abweek early now...but will we hear anymore on haaland soon? Would be nice to catch the Watkins price rise

City play Red Star on Wednesday so could get more info on Haaland in the presser or that.

So I had the same plan as you (I think), using WC on 19 and bring back Haaland. Now I'm not sure what to do. Would be fun to WC now to get Ollie's price and have an amazing defense for two weeks with no Haaland. Then find a way back to him with a minus 4 on week 19? Is that crazy? Or better to just do Ollie for Haaland now and keep the WC for 19?

Bearing in mind Afcon and Asian cup of nations I think I will save the wildcard to gw20. Then transfer out Son(!) Or salah(!) In that wildcard while bringing back haaland. They will both be around for just gw20 and then will be off, so might even sell both of them.

Gw20 wildcard will likely be bringing in 3x City + 1 x Brentford for upcoming double

"The first wildcard will be available from the start of the season until Sat 30 Dec 11:00."

So up to the gw20 deadline ... nice

Yeah it makes a difference, hey?
I only discovered this in the last couple of weeks. There had been posts by "content creators" that implied it needed to be used by gw19.
A nice reminder to myself to always read the rules myself and don't rely on others!

    Haaland's dad is on FPL!!
He sold Haaland + Mbeumo for Isak + Salah

He's in a Haaland family league, and a Prime league (sponsors Haaland).

That's a random commenetor opinion, not fact.

It's a sale with at MINIMUM 2 games he would have missed in the next 3, given the blank - not only Luton.

Personally believe it's more likely he misses Palace than doesn't - but critical thinking please 😛

Nobody said it was fact, or anything other then an opinion, so don't be misrepresenting what some other poster said which I reposted, which I think is a fair comment

The *speculation* which is that if his family/friend thought he was only out for Luton, they would likely have benched him for CRY...regardless of the blank. The CRY game is a prime captaincy game for Haaland, so that needs to be factored in

As they sold him presumably with inside info., the indications are that they think he might also be out for CRY

Understand NUFC are now exploring the possibility of bringing in a GK in January. Dubravka has been nursing a shoulder problem and is not guaranteed to make it through January.

Recruitment assessing options - Aaron Ramsdale being one that Howe has personally reached out to, but a few on the list.

    Leno, Turner

Alvarez might start scoring again due to Haalands absence. Hwang heading off in January also, would be another transfer to book in. Saka is highly owned and consistent, if unspectacular. But must be due a double figure haul soon...surely.

I’ve hit WC too and ditched Haaland. No impact now dead ending into the blank.

Get rid of Turner for Dubravka

Mids and forwards I’ve exactly the same. Not as exciting as I thought it would be.

Defenders are a nightmare atm so any 5 from about 20.

We’ve created a bench headache for ourselves too and with a load of cash tempted to buy trippier and bench this week. Maybe get 2 citeh that can be benched too so that semi set up post blank

I’m going to have to sell Maguire for a hit to get an Arsenal defender for the long term. I can afford any on current structure without it impacting Haaland/Son/Salah later.

    Which is the best option?

    A. Gabriel
    B. Saliba
    C. Zinchenko
    D. White

If Zinchenko wasn’t a minutes issue it would 100% be him for BPS and attacking upside. Saliba just feels like a 2 or 6 point merchant.

    Cheers!

B is the best long-term option. I quite like D if funds no issue as I think he'll be nailed while Tomiyasu is out, has decent attacking threat and is fairly differential.

Despite rumours of Harvey Barnes being close to returning to first team action on Saturday, Eddie Howe has now said this is NOT the case.

Howe: "No. Not currently. He’s not one of the closest players."

Any chance Gusto will be available for GW17 to replace Reece James?

If Haaland is out then just the first part of A. Bringing in Alvarez as well gives you a benching headache. Then with 2 FTs get some Spurs for black GW18.

I won't make any moves until Friday, but early thoughts on this mess? Assuming Haaland is out, I'm considering:

    A Haaland to Solanke
B Anderson to Gordon/other mid under 6.2 (bench Haaland and save 2 transfers)
C Haaland, Lamptey to Solanke, TAA -4
D Haaland, Areola to Solanke and a GK -4

    Areola
    Gabriel Porro Lascelles
    Salah Son Saka Palmer
    Haaland Alvarez Watkins

    Turner Taylor Lamptey Anderson

    1ft and £2m

Assuming Haaland is out, do you think it's worth a - 4 to replace him with Watkins this week, or do it for free next week and take any price changes on the chin?

Likely starter if I keep Haaland this week would be Tsimikas.

I am doing it tonight, but my sub (and only sub) for an injured Haaland is Archer.

Tsimikas seems a proper good choice next GW with Man U being Man U and Fernandes suspended

I’d do it for free next week and play Tsimikas this week.

I'm selling Martinelli and Haaland for Son and Watkins - Darwin to Haaland in 19. Son is a big upgrade on Foden. Can you bring Haaland back easily?
