    Would you wildcard this team?

    Leno
    Gabriel Saliba Pedro Porro
    Diaby Salah Son Gordon
    J.Alvarez Darwin Watkins

    Areola McTominay Branthwaite Taylor

    was considering:

    Leno Pickford
    Branthwaite Gabriel Porro TAA Konsa
    Salah Son Saka Odegaard McAtee
    Wilson Watkins Alvarez

    Just thinking:

    Arsenal don't clean.

    Gordon probably misses the game.

    Diaby minutes doubt.

    Darwin is poop.

Pickford better than Leno this week.

Wilson is my punt over the template Solanke pick.

    Will get Haaland in 20.

Original plan was WC 20 but the Gordon injury might be one too far, already on a -4.

Could punt Richarlison over Odegaard or Saka perhaps too.

I would not. Diaby to Palmer maybe, or even save and have 2ft next week.
Then again, deadline for 1st WC is closing in, but you can play it gw20 and set your team up for another few weeks...

Just concerned that Salah and Son only drop 0.2m each because of the unavailable algorithm having a higher threshold whilst they are away gameweek 21-25...Nah you're probably right I think I'll hold, a lot of teams probably have issues this week.

I'd be wary given how many times Howe was shouting "Are you okay Cal?" during the second half last night.

When to WC if you still have one. Particularly if I want Haaland/Son/Salah for 19 and 20. I had been planning to WC on GW 19 to get Haaland back but now wondering if it's better to do it on GW20 to manage the loss of Son/Salah.

I don't like planning transfers, but maybe the best thing is:

Transfer haaland back in gw19 (if you have the funds)
WC gw20 but keep son in team to face Bournemouth
        Transfer out son in gw21.

Means you have just one gameweek without just one of the trio: salah vs Newcastle in gw20

Who would you choose among Raùl (BUR), Solanke (nfo) and Cunha (CHE) for Haaland's one-week replacement for GW18 if you had to decide now before this weekend's matches? Their prices are irrelevant, assume you won't have any benefit if you choose the cheaper one, just focus on who will score more FPL points.

Not if he's rested, which is not totally out of the question.
One of those that looked awfully tired during the latter stage of the game, making huge mistakes and looked leggy, like most of the Newcastle players tbf, but he was one them that looked really tired. Mood and spirit will be down and that carabao cup in midweek after Fulham could now turn into s bigger priority for Newcastle.

But if something more certain does get said, I think he’d be a great captain. I took that as he has less chance to be actually fit to play.

A hamstring injury normally takes time unless it's v minor.

I've benched him for this weekend anyway but he does have a nice run of a few games coming up.

        1. Ze_Austin
          • 7 Years

Nope. He was still moving freely and just felt some tightness

Sounds a lot like grade 1, which takes days:

          https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hamstring-injury/

          https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/17039-hamstring-injury

And a mild strain at that, since he was still running without much pain but couldn't go at full sprint

Medical guess: one full day of rest (today), then one fitness test before and after Friday's training, with Howe probably saying "We won't know until after today's training" in tomorrow's presser

Yup. Would have been a lot easier if Howe was reliable

But see his presser just before the UCL game. He made me sweat over Gordon, Dubravka and Lascelles... Yet all started

When it comes to his players, I'll just start 'em unless they're actually injured (Gordon's withdrawal due to muscle tightness is more precautionary in nature)

On WC, I think I'd keep but bench v FUL.

Bit more of a dilemma for me. Howe won't help, obviously, and I have no bench this week. I won't sell Gordon but could take a hit for something like Osula - Solanke

How does this compare to the template?

In a season where most of the others got many clean sheets and you were overthinking/overtinkering with differentials, then maybe it's horrible

But this season... I'm definitely not even going to check this for my team. I expect it to be low all round, due to the unpredictability of clean sheets this season since almost everybody scores (except Sheffield)

      Yeah, one thought:

      Why Alvarez?

    Cheers Neale

Glad to see Areola perking up in training

Klopp's description of Big Mac's knee gash was pretty deep there. That kind of wound always scares me due to infections

Man U and Palace both seem heavily depleted for their clashes with title contenders, while Murillo's possible absence won't help Forest. Haaland (if fit), Salah and Son might not have much between 'em this weekend

You'd be brave to stick the armband on Haaland this week though, even if he's fit to be a starter he's high risk for coming off early.

        I'm not capping him

Just saying their points might end up close, or be split by the usual variance of missing great chances or getting a pen

The more this week goes on the the more getting rid of haaland seems like a luxury move when I’ve still got the likes of mbuemo in my team and so many flags !

    1. Kabore + Haaland -> Porro + Watkins (-4).
    2. Archer -> Solanke (If Haaland is confirmed fit).
    3. Trippier -> Porro.
    4. Something else.
Favouring 1 atm but what do we reckon?

    Dubravka.
    Gabriel, Kabore, Beyer, Tsimikas.
    Salah, Palmer, Son, Martinelli.
    Haaland*, Alvarez.
Areola, Archer, Trippier (suspended), Luiz (suspended).
    1ft, 2.4m ITB.
