Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers face the final furlong with a quickening pace as two Gameweeks get underway over the next seven days to close off the festive period.

The uncertain status of City’s Norwegian Erling Haaland (£13.9m) shrouds the armband conversation in mystery ahead of Gameweek 19 with assets from Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs, instead, among the prime contenders.

We also put a range of differential options under the microscope for the ownership adverse amongst us.

As usual, the Captain Sensible article is here to highlight which assets have the best chance of hauling.

First, we will assess the fallout of the captain poll, before then analysing the best options, Rate My Team (RMT) and the Premier Fantasy Tools ratings ahead of Tuesday’s 11:00 GMT deadline.

Best 1 week punt before wildcard?

A) Semenyo > Alvarez/Darwin
B) Palmer > Son/Richarlison (bench Semenyo obv)

I don't particularly like A (or any other striker tbf), while I'm losing a bit of value with B

Saiba/Porro + Pau + Alvarez >>> TAA + Konsa + Archer for -4?

TAA is very scary to not own but is it too sidways? Saliba has good fixtures, Porro in good form.

  I wouldn't lose Porro. Pau to Konsa is sideways, especially since his injury doesn't seem to be a long-term one.

      I'm not usually fond of taking -4 to get defenders in, but I guess TAA is an exception. So, I'd do those three transfers expecting payoff in the long run. Cheers, GL!

TAA scored highest points, 51 (8.5 per 90), amongst all the players (Next Salah with 36 points) in the last 6 games.

If you are looking for defenders, partly due to all the injuries/suspensions, TAA is probably your guy, if budget permits.

Note: you may need to have a plan to get Salah/Son back at some point after spreading the funds to get TAA.

Things may get tricky if LIV blank in GW26. However, if LIV double in GW25, then TAA can be a long term hold, and in that case Son might be the one to drop amongst Haaland, Salah, Son and TAA.

  My uninformed guess is that he won’t play until the 13th. I shipped him out this week for the cash and upgraded Tsimi to TAA. Brought in Alvarez as a replacement. If he is back sooner I’ll just move Salah early .
