    RMWCT 🙂

    Raya Turner
    Gabriel TAA Konsa Branth Gusto
    Salah Bowen Ode Garnacho Palmer
    Watkins Alvarez Solanke

Leaves me 4.8m itb to save gw21 and then do Salah, Alvarez/Solanke to KDB (if ready), Haaland. Thoughts?

    Currently have a defence of:
    Martinez / Kelleher
Saliba, Livra, Tripps, Andersen and Beyer.

I have some money itb. Thinking Livra is the priority for the chop. Who shall I replace him with? Max 5.8.

    Fulham, Wolves and Palace.

Three teams I've put on my no go list. Just not getting in any of their players as they're too unreliable to trust.

The moment you get their current in form player he either gets injured or loses form and someone else in their team starts a run instead.

Any other teams anyone care to add to this list?

    Is TAA essential?

Is it just a case of having extra money that makes him more appealing?
In terms of points per million, he's not in the top 10 for defenders.

Would you prefer a defence like this? or would you still find a way to have him?

    Porro, Gabriel, Moreno, Estupinan, Gusto

    1. lilmessipran
      • 13 Years
      1 year, 11 months ago

Exactly my thoughts as well, but the counter argument is that with No Haaland and son and salah leaving you have too much money right now to just maximize points and not worry about points per million in which case Taa makes sense

    2. Tommy Template
      • 11 Years
      1 year, 11 months ago

I think he's terrible value for money but he's being made to look half decent by the lack of CS generally which makes most defenders look unattractive unless they have attacking upside. Trent is more expensive than he's ever been and he won't be near some of hid best seasons point totals. Nobody was talking about Trent prior to Haalands injury and Trippiers loss of form.

      1. Salarrivederci
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 11 months ago

        Terrible value for money?

A few GWs ago he was the same price as Bowen, and when Bowen has played Arsenal later, then Bowen will have played more minutes than TAA this season.

They have about the same points pr. minute and has been about the same price most and therefore almost same points pr. mil.

You think Bowen has been terrible value for money?

TAA has been one of the main factors to put me in a top rank position halfway through this fantasy game.

TAA, Trippier & Porro offers something that the other defenders is no where near to offer - attacking threat - in a season with few clean sheets. I know Trippier has bad form and fixtures, but in a few GWs those three will (again) be the most exciting back 3 to field and own.

    3. The Mighty Hippo
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 11 months ago

He doesn't provide great value in terms of points per million, however he's also the top scoring defender in terms of points returned, so if you can have him in your team without having to make major compromise elsewhere then he's a sensible choice.

      1. Tommy Template
        • 11 Years

I suppose the question is would him and a 4.0 defender score more than 2 Arsenal defenders and some change?

        1. The Mighty Hippo
          • 9 Years
          1 year, 11 months ago

You could play him alongside the two Arsenal defenders and still have a balanced team at the moment...maximising your overall points.

            • 11 Years

You can now. Can you when you've got Salah, Son, Haaland to contend with?

            1. The Mighty Hippo
              • 9 Years
              1 year, 11 months ago

possibly not, but that's likely to be a number of weeks away, so why not have him in your team while you can. If all of the premier players are available and are and returning points then you simply make a decision on who to leave out at that point.

    4. FFS ManU
      • 3 Years

I don't think that it matters which position your expensive players play in. A pricey defender that is outscoring almost every other player is worth having unless that leads to a squad that scores less than another one would.

Hes outscoring other defenders i grant you but barely outscoring other positions at a fraction of his cost e.g Gordon, Hwang. It boils down to my original point, defenders with no attacking output are near enough useless

I've had him since GW16 and in a game of small margins for points, he's helped me edge in the right direction.

        • 9 Years

Had TAA (& Palmer) since GW9.
And had been those two over (let's say) Bowen & Saliba. Looks pretty decent to assume I would hvae picked those two due to price, position and ownership.
        From GW9 - GW19

TAA + Palmer (132 - Palmer suspended in one)
Bowen + Saliba (90 - Bowen missed out in 1 and yet to face Arsenal - Saliba yet to face West Ham). Let's say Bowen and Saliba combines for 10 points later. Then TAA & Palmer outscores them by 30 points. Pretty massive.

I see a few people speculating about the impact of KDB returning and considering getting him in. I don't have any data to hand, but from memory I seem to remember him always being a bit of a slow starter when coming back from injury and given that he's only played 22 mins this season (in gw1) then he'll surely take quite a few weeks to get up to speed.

The bigger question is probably his impact on playing time for Alvarez and Foden.

      I might've taken a punt if he was 2m cheaper, but I'm not going there @ 10m.

32 years old, injury-prone, minutes very likely to be managed.

If Haalands bone “stress”/ stress fracture, or often referred in Aussie Rules Football as a “hot spot” his minutes will be heavily managed on return and if he gets one kick on the same spot again (?quite likely, if I was defending him I’d be kicking him into next week) it could see another lengthy stint on the sidelines. Hard sell for me

James is out for months, after hamstring surgery a week or two ago. Gusto doesn't have competition for his spot when fit: the others just fill in when both James and Gusto are injured, like Gomez filling in at LB for Robbo and Tsimikas right now

Yeah I'd say he is now. Brought him in a couple of GWs back in place of Kabore.

We won't be keeping clean sheets overly often - and probably not too much beyond February looking at the fixtures, but he's definitely the first choice RB injured (with Reece out).

He's genuinely looked very good in these last few return appearances. MOTM performance last night (was out, couldn't watch) & so much better than Disasi at RB. He is also able to switch flanks if need be which is a plus.

Decent enough assist threat. The assist last night was fantastic from him.

Again - wouldn't play every week but for 4.1m an absolute steal.

Which is the better trio going forward?

Arsenal defender starts most of the time, the other 2 are rotation options (with Gusto) until Salah gets back
Was set on A but Villa look hopeless for clean sheets

    A) Saliba, Konsa, Garnacho
    B) Gabriel, Branthwaite, Douglas Luiz

    Afternoon, any changes needed?

Should Cunha play, A last game but few blanks since his last run?

    Dubravka,
    Porro, Saliba, Konsa, Trent
    Salah, Son, Saka, Palmer
    Watkins, Solanke,

    #Sanchez, Cunha, Gordon, Colwill

I'd say trying to hold onto 2FTs will give you a lot of flexibility once Salah and Son go, since you've kept them till now, may as well hold.

        Only considering,

        A Cunha > Alvarez

        B Gordon > Foden

I like B though, for what it's worth that's likely to be my transfer.

Alvarez has gone cold… BUT - Haaland out, on Pens & Sheff Utd at home next makes him look a decent pick to me, no?

He scored and was involved early on yesterday and Man City looked well up for it..

Going a goal down inspired some grit and determination...

It was a windy night and they sailed through their storm.

    A) Keep extra transfer for Son and Salah in GW20
    B) Use extra transfer for Darwin --> Alvarez
