If you're punting on a nailed GK who'll make loads of saves and rotate with Dubravka, it's still Areola

No chance ten Hag drops his Ajax GK

Onana's role isn't shot-stopping. It's that distribution... It's not working, but ten Hag is far too stubborn to change it

    Raya
    Moreno Porro Walker
    Salah Hwang Saka Ramsey Palmer
    Solanke Haaland

    Areola Isak Tarkowski Taylor

I know Haaland probably wont play but Isak is not that bad of a autosub

But you wouldn't have 0.4m tied up in him per say. I bought at 12.5m so my sell price is 12.9. I, like you, believe he'll drop to 13.1m, so no big deal. But I empathise that have also had Son from the beginning.

I doubt it. For some teams keeping one of them might mean saving 2 transfers. The biggest issue is that Son might lose value and even get injured. With Salah his form after AFCON is probably bigger risk than injury. Having said this I have made the mistake of selling Son and will sell Salah.

Guaranteed 0 points until they return. This is enough for me to sell, to take a chance of double-digit returns from their replacements... Also eases the routes to Haaland and Richarlison for my squad

I think it still has to be either Watkins or Alvarez. Watkins was anonymous in last match, so I think I'll be in Alvarez camp. Making decisions with too small sample size isn't very clever though.

Which Villa defender would you get factoring price and they are competing with TAA, Gabriel, Gusto and Porro so may not see too much time in the XI:

    A) Carlos 4.4
    B) Konsa 4.6
    C) Torres 4.7
    D) Moreno 5.0

Have 8 playable attackers these days so a benchable nailed defender sounds ideal. Sounds like Konsa is my man rather than the upside of Moreno

Hard to make a judgment without seeing the whole team. If you have a lot of value wrapped up in Salah it might be a good idea to sell this week. He'll drop in price while at AFCN and make it easier to get back.

I think many people are often too afraid of losing tied value. Banking half the money, catching a price rise or two with another player and then getting the player back when he is cheaper doesn't usually cost much if anything at all. It also gives flexibility if that player gets injured later in the season.

Think I'm selling both and Archer to get Haaland, Foden and Jota, who could all see price increases. It also offers greater flexibility if doubles and blanks come up.

Still two weeks to decide and a lot could happen before then.

Cheers. I’m contemplating going a week early on ditching Salah and just bringing Foden in this week (same C & VC as you)

If you have Haaland funds, I'd rather sell the fifth mid for Foden and take a hit to sell Salah next GW instead

I'm rolling into GW20 with Salah, Son, Saka, Bowen and (C)Foden, before dumping Salah + Son from GW21 for Rich and Garnacho (3-4-3)

Selling a captaincy option never feels right to me

What has made Foden good option again? Hasn't he burnt all his owners many times.

              • 7 Years

              Timing is everything with him

Foden's playing down the middle in Haaland's absence, looked pretty close to a brace vs the improved Everton parked bus, and faces a troubled Sheffield next with Haaland expected to miss out again

But then with Haaland back, Foden looks more likely to keep starting through City's block of good fixtures (including a DGW) so there's an argument for holding until the second WC, unless someone else proves to be better, like if Gordon regains some form

Fair on timing is everything. In my bitter experience, by the time we've identified the right window, it is already closing. And I fear the same here with Doku, KDB, Haaland back sometime in the next 3 GWs.

Haha. My fingers are still burned from earlier this season. That said he looked very good bs Burnley and I do like a pep comment about goal scoring instinct. If Salah wasn’t off to AFCON I wouldn’t dream of it. Foden will definitely have a shelf life though if he comes in I would think.

The haaland funds are basically Salah just now. Got Salah, son, Saka, Bailey & palmer in my midfield so don’t fancy ditching any of them and sadly have very little in the bank to go with your plan. Good thinking though

    Thinking about it ...

It makes little sense to keep both Salah and Son on a wildcard as you're down to 1 FT next week and many will have 2 so you've played a wildcard, booked in urgent transfers and are a step behind not in front.

Pretty counter productive so at least one should go.

    Depending on your preference.

Agree with this. Bournemouth's full-backs have been defensively strong, so I don't think it's a hat trick game for Son anyway... But I still expect something

While I do like Richarlison as a pick, I do think he's being slightly overrated here, I know he's scored in 3 games in a row but he's only had 2 shots in the last 2 combined

I was thinking that too, now everyone is going to use the Salah/Son out money to get Haaland when he returns. Advantage lost.

I don't like the idea of selling Palmer. Doesn't make sense to my team at least. Darwin to Alvarez has to be higher priority. However, punt with injured Hee Chan to Foden (-4) might not be normally that bad idea. However, that would mean benching Porro, Gabriel or Zinch for me.

Dad didn’t want him going to Paris, but he went anyway. Then got chatted up by a handsome French dude working for an Albanian trafficking gang. Went to a party and was kidnapped. Dad’s on his way there now. Got some skills apparently.

Having made the decision to sell Trippier, it's allowed me to consider keeping Son as I could do Nkunku straight to Haaland next week.

Selling value for Son is 9.4m. He's currently 9.9m. I suspect I'll be able to buy him back for 9.6/9.7m but definitely not 9.4m.

It's more about saving the transfer at this point with Palmer the enabler to be able to field decent squads regardless.

Normally I wouldn't even hesitate to sell, I love gaining permanent team value increases. FPL between 2006-2010 my team value was 115+ every season by the sheer amount of bandwagons jumped on and then sold for the profits. It was a whole different game back then! Hits were essential! You had to get your team value up or you'd be struggling later haha.

Knowing FPL Towers they will lock the prices after 1 drop.

Yeah apparently the 'unavailable' threshold is something like 75% more transfers required. So if everyone is on the ball and sells the first week, going down 0.2m in a week is almost impossible. You need casuals to have no idea what's going on to facilitate more drops.

I only own son and will keep him on the bench because it actually solves my benching headaches which is a plus

I never considered honestly. I was dead set on selling, just might not have to now and save the transfers for DGW reasons later.

I wouldn't trust Son to be back uninjured. SV does / may still help during the last 3rd of the season, even though getting much more than 108-110 million is difficult to achieve.

It doesn't sit well with me! I'd be more inclined to sell if he reaches 10m so I could bank the 0.5m.

        Snap

That was the play but loads were unconvinced...

Partly I think because there was less noise from those who spaffed theirs up the wall around about gw7.

Don't think I even pulled till thr Thursday or Friday, missed quite a few rises of players I ended up getting. Had already missed a Solanke rise so got Nkunku instead, which didn't work out.

Could be right. I do think that there’s quite a few times where a team has a really poor performance, we lick our lips in FPL and then it’s a different team the next week.

Remember Bournemouth losing 9-0 to Liverpool in 2022, only for them to then go unbeaten for next 6 PL games.
