I have owned Ødegaard all season (no idea why) and the fact that Saka has never really forced me to make the switch says alot especially with Saka on penalties (mostly) and Odegaard playing less advanced.

I got Saka and odegaard in on Wildcard last week and I have no idea why either considering I’d have martinelli for like 10 GWs

Any thoughts on what to do with 1FT and £11.1m here? Not convinced by KDBs minutes.

I'm considering it, yeah. Think maybe Ange throws him straight back into the starting lineup tonight after a week's full training. Its shaping up as a Maddi v KDB showdown for me.

I think you'll be OK for a start in 22 assuming he is fine after the City game. Folks will need to factor in Spurs blank in 26 into their team plans

If KDB is benched tonight then he instantly becomes the best captain option for the upcoming gw, I believe he starts though and maybe playing less mins vs Burnley

Depends if he gets mins in the Spurs game to build up match fitness.

Probably gets mins but likely depend on game state.

Pep said KDB was ready for 90 mins in the last game and ended up on the bench

Not sure its that simple. With all the mixed signals - 'only capable of cameos' after Newcastle, now 'ready for 90' (City Xtra tweet yesterday) - I don't think I would take the plunge of captaining just yet. Also think there's a fair bit of results-oriented thinking around here in claiming it doesn't matter if he only gets 25mins - it does, he won't haul every cameo

    4. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 3 Years

Hard one to gauge. If he gets 10-15 mins or doesn't appear at all then I think he might start v Burnley. Anything more and I'll begin to question it. He has to start a game sooner or later of course but he did looked gassed within 5 minutes against Newcastle. Didn't stop him doing more running of course but you could see it. They have 8 games in the next 4 weeks so maybe he spends the first week or so giving him 30 mins each time and sees how that goes, gives him a game off and then tries a start. Maybe he feels good enough after the break to start sooner, who knows

      Newcastle presser just finished

      Eddie Howe's team-news:

"Jacob [Murphy] has trained, and he has looked good. That is a big positive. Apart from that, no one else has trained. Harvey [Barnes] and Callum [Wilson] are showing good signs."

Any suggestions on who to bench this week? It's a tricky one, currently set up as per below:

    Areola
    Estupinan / Zinchenko / TAA
    Gordon / Richarlison / Bowen / Saka
    Alverez / Watkins / Darwin

    Dubravka / Palmer / porro / Tosin

Tough one, I think it has to be Pau after having a setback to his recovery even though Chelsea blank in 26.

Estupinan v Walker is also tough. Both top of my defender watchlist, I can't decide between the two.

      Don't get the Walker appeal.

No CS points in 15 out of 21 league apps this season.

Avg of 3.2 PPG is worse than Tark who is nearly 1m cheaper.

    My thoughts currently on GW22:

    1. Jota is a good pick but honestly it's one week to late to get him. Not ideal two fixtures coming up and better opportunities elsewhere (Richarlison, KDB). However I wouldn't be against getting him. There are still points for him to be earned.

    2. KDB has enormous ceiling but do we really expect him to be a regular starter soon? I'm still screening and probably avoiding him for the next 2 weeks.

    3. Estupinan: feel like I HAVE to own him for the next week and following fixtures. Just have one FT and still in doubt to use it on him, would probably lose either Guehi (good fixture) or Gabriel (in form and good fixtures but is he fit?) for him.

      1. Same thinking here, Salah to Rich or Madds after tonights game> Jota in 24/25
      2. great player but with limited minutes an avoid for me at least for next couple
      3. Id love to get him but walker is more priority in my team

      great points overall cheers

      Same thinking here as well.
If I do anything it will be Estu in but may carry transfer over if it looks like I have 3 starting defenders.

Nice summation. I'm debating the same conundrums.

Points 1 & 2 have sound logic, but you don't say who you're selling.

Move to point 3 Estu: I'd lose Guehi rather than Gabriel (are you short a def this week?)

Bowen safe option. Do you trust West ham though

Alvarez on pens and all set pieces plus he's playing central where Burnley concede most of their goals

Richi just avoid that one. Has no upside, not very good with baps. Never gets double digits and could easily be dragged off early too. Plus he's not very good at football.
