    So....FH29 Yes or No?

Not sure if anything has changed in the last few days but my feeling is I'd rather play 6 or 7 and use the FH in a future DGW. Don't see the upside really in 29

My feelings too tho I’d want at least 9 players

ideally yes, but I'd be happy with 6/7. I'd rather go with 6/7 than 8/9 with a -8 for one week, I think (could change of course). But I think this week has taught us the risks of overthinking B/DGWs and making big short term decisions over long term (probably more boring) planning

Plenty have attacked this gw with 7, 8 or 9 double game week players.

Man City could turn it around still and a Liverpool clean sheet along with a few assists from Bradley to Nunez would get everything bubbling again with double game week fever.

But so far the promise of a Man City, Liverpool, Luton and Brentford double is a disappointing one for many.

The point is we don't know what will happen in a given gw, expectations will be low but there will be some gems and gains to be made for those able to play into it.

My thoughts aswell, ive seen a few videos and comments about the benefit of FH29 so that you can be more flexible with your transfers from GW26-GW29, however i feel that most teams NOT building for GW29 would have a very poor GW30 team.

      Yes, agree.

I will probably dead-end my team in 29 and go with Son, Richy, Porro, Toney, Watkins, Areola and possibly Bowen (and ignore Luton v Forest).

Not for me but depends on your team and play style I guess. I don't see much upside in it. Once I can cover the main threats (triple Spurs, Watkins, Toney) I'll be fine with that.

Depends on outcome of FA cup games which we will know between weeks 26 and 27.

I was initially planning on not FH in 29 but am starting to lean heavily towards FH29. Already about to correct a mistake in taking out Saka in 24 instead of Bowen because Bowen had a game in 29. As a result I've missed the two 15 point hauls of Saka and stuck with just the 4 points from Bowen.

I'm now focusing on picking the best players for the short term (Arsenal and Wolves) rather than trying to build a team to play through GW29 with underwhelming assets from West Ham/Villa.

It's a perfect example of playing the weeks in front of you in order.

        FH29 enables that approach.

A wildcard around gw32 or 33 allows you to play into gw34 and BB37 pretty well too.

If gw37 is such a big double we are all largely stacked with dgw squads by default. It's pre cup finals too.

Hwang would be the easy option. The only issue is Neto is on form and Hwang is returning from Asian Cup. Sometimes players returning from international tournaments take time to pick up form

How many hits are you willing to take between 26-29 to navigate blanks without using a chip? Even if we get no additional fixtures added to 29 I think minimum of -12 ( -4 in 26, 28 and 29) would get me to decent week 29 team of 11 starters with good week 30 team then WC 31

    1. Holmes
      • 12 Years
      1 year, 9 months ago

I have no intention of fielding a full XI in GW29 for the expected list of fixtures. 6-8 players at best. So no hits for GW29.

As for GW26-28, I will try to navigate with FTs. Maybe one hit max as the form and fixtures are iffy for most of teams.

    2. Conners
      • 7 Years
      1 year, 9 months ago

      -8 most likely.

I'll probably need to take a hit for a defender unfortunately due to being stuck with Porro, Tsimi and Estu.
(Will probably buy Senesi in 27 which should pay off)

Second hit will be for an attacker in gw29 (Son, Bowen or Toney).

None FH will allow me to keep the inform players I've got before and after that GW without using FTs or taking hits that weaken my team long-term. Plan is FH29, WC35 or 36 to set up GW37 BB. I don't see GW34 being a major issue as City, Pool, Spurs and maybe Arsenal are unlikely to double, and its possible nobody doubles if GW34 Cup postponements are moved to midweek.

Is it worth wildcarding the team below?
    Areola Dubravka*
    VVD* Gabriel Estu* Taylor Branthwite
    KDB Foden Saka Richarlison Jota*
    Darwin* Haaland Watkins

I feel like I would like to get rid of Dubravka/VVD/Estu/Jota/Darwin and bring in Neto (GK)/Arsenal defender/Maguire/Hwang and Solanke.

      • 7 Years

I'd just replace Jota with a Wolves mid this week.

      Then in GW27, do Darwin/Estu to Solanke/Senesi.

    My team

    Areola Leno
    Saliba Reguilon Doughty* Gusto* Lascelles*
    KDB Foden Saka Gordon Jota*
    Solanke Haaland Watkins

    1ft and 1.1mitb
I will not play use chips before gw 30. So those players i buy now have to play in gw 29.

    A) Lascelles > Pau Torres / Moreno
    B) Lascelles and Jota > Pau and Hwang ( would bench solanke vs City)

    C)

  10. Rhysd007

    D) Bowen
    E) Gordon

    Areola
    Gabriel Estupinan Reguilon Burn
    KdB Saka Foden
    Haaland Watkins Solanke
    (Kelleher Jota Palmer Porro)

    A) Roll
    B) Jota > Odegaard -4 (bench Burn)
    C) Jota > Hwang -4 (bench Burn)

A looks kind of bad but I have the funds for Jota > Son next week in one move which is very clean and I would have 0.0m ITB.

Plan for BGW26 was Richy>Garna and field 10. I've cooled a bit on this now though as last week I sold Odegaard for Foden and so far that's turned to custard! Richy is a great pick for 27/28/29 so it feels a bit like short term gain for long term pain.

Maybe move VVD straight on instead? Senesi puts an extra doubler in for DGW28 but will score next to nothing this week...!

    Areola
    Branthwaite Gabriel Estupinan
    Saka Foden
    Watkins Haaland Alvarez

    VVD Doughty Son Richy Palmer

Personally I think Hwang is more likely to take the pen, but who knows really. Wolves had 3 penalties this season and one was taken by Hwang (but Sarabia wasn't on the pitch, Cunha was), one was taken by Sarabia (without Hwang but with Cunha on the pitch) and one was taken by Cunha (with Sarabia and without Hwang, but Cunha was on 2 goals so close to hat trick).

Wildcarding in 27 and going cheap in defence. I already have Gabriel, from the following players 11, which four would you choose?
Gusto, Burn, Doughty, Mykolenko, Senesi, Lamptey, Kilman, Dawson, Andersen, Van De Ven, Van Hecke .
    Thanks!

I honestly think a wildcard in 27 is a bad idea. You're trying to create a team for the rest of the season, navigating blanks and DGW's which are a while away and inevitably you will regret it as your team won't be as set up as you'd like.

you can FH in one of two big DGW (34,37) and navigate transfers to have as many double players for the other.. as someone who no longer has BB available I am considering this option too, although this was not the plan initially.. have Estu, Ferguson, Porro, Jota, will struggle to have decent squad for GW29 so WC27 seems like a good option

So if you're using FH in 34/37 how would you be navigating BGW29? To me, this seems incredibly difficult to do if going down that line.

I think everyone plays the game differently. There's no right or wrong time to play a WC it depends on your team and your strategy.

WC 27, Roll transfer 28, two free transfers and eventual -4 to overcome GW29.. did not do any analysis or initial WC draft, just thinking out loud.. will be difficult of course, but sacrificing GW26-28 to prepare for 29 or FH in 29 for 4 matches is not easy either

BGW29 fixtures will be known in 27 - don't think there'll be any more blanks except maybe FA Cup semi-finalists in 34. You're only taking a slight gamble on 34 (which looks pretty meh from what I can surmise) & if you've BBed already I don't see a problem with WC27

yep, later WC makes more seems if you want to set up team for BB in 34/37.. from my current situation, 27 looks like a decent option and saves me from taking hits.
It will slightly disrupt my team for GW30 ,31 but every move has its pros and cons so I might take that risk

I was thinking WC27 gives me all info about BGW29, 2 transfers to roll into 29 as well. All the injury info and form back on Salah, Son, Haaland after their returns was a factor too. I'm not a fan of FH29, will hope to get through with 7 players and don't think thr FH worth it to get 4 extra fixtures. Thinking I will FH and BB for 34 and 37 depending on what the fixtures look like.

Does anyone know if David Munday is ok? Been no sign of him this year and no posts on his twitter account

Someone asked this weeks ago and there was little response. What I can say is he’s been making transfers on fpl.

Everybody debating on neto vs hwang where I am sitting with this midfield and frwd line

    Kdb foden saka gordon richy
    Watkins haaland darwin

My realistic option is to move darwin out for solanke against city but can do gordon to hwang or neto or luiz for a hit. The thing is gordon is more imp coz of pens.

    A) Lascelles > Pau Torres / Moreno
    B) Lascelles and Jota > Pau and Hwang -4 ( would bench solanke vs City)

Is just Jota to Hwang an option?

Andreas Brehme - 4 of his 8 goals for (West) Germany came in knockout matches in World Cups, 2 of those in semis and 1 in the Final.

Obviously Paul Parker might have just got a very slight deflection on one of those semi final goals, but even so.
      Quality big game player.

What about Eder though? Scored 5 goals for Portugal, 4 of them in international friendlies, and the other one goal to win them the Euro cup in 2016.

Hwang vs Neto - based on the article clearly has to be Hwang:
marginally cheaper when finds are tight 0.3m
marginally more points per game 0.3pts more
    chance he's on penalties

However I'm going Douglas Luiz because he plays in GW29. Will get Solanke next week, also plays inGW 29, then see how many players I have for GW29 before deciding on FH or not. i.e. use all transfers between now and then on DGW players and/or BGW29 players to give the most flexibility on chip strategy for the run in.

WC 1 week ahead of a BBDGW and FH in the other big DGW, but that only works if I can get through BGW29 with a reasonable amount of players.

solanke doesn't play in GW29 unless they are knocked out by Leicester and Wolves beaten by Brighton (both playing at home)

Best replacement for Estupinan? Got 4.7
    A) Sensei
    B) Burn
    C) Ait-Nouri
    D) anyone else?

Is there a chance that Estu starts this gameweek?

Could also consider a Utd defender? Or Branthwaite?

Hmm good options, I'll have a look. I need the money to do Jota to Saka and it's him or Richarlison.

If you're not FHing in 29, I'd buy Pau or Reguilon.

If you're FHing in 29, then I'd get Senesi, albeit he has a tough fixture this week.

Probably won’t have either. Need to make a defensive transfer or save.
