Who is the best BOU defender to get?

Senesi or Kerkez (if Kelly is out)

I’ve had Senesi for a while so if everyone could bring him in and drive up his price that would be awesome sauce.

I'm looking to start a Bournemouth defender for most of the games up to GW34 if they are projected to get a DGW then as well. So leaning towards Zabarnyi just for the security of starts

    A - TC Solanke 28

    B - Save for a later Haaland/Salah DGW

      See how today goes.

If you have BB for dgw37 then you're likely looking at gw34. But from what I understand Man City might double with away games.

Like ACDC said, other chips may impact the TC.

MCI are more likely to double in 37 than 34

    Gross/Kdb/Kluivert/Bowen/Trossard
    Watkins/Haaland

    Raya/Alvarez/Porro*/Taylor

All this talk of gw34, I've got two observations.

Won't most have the best players from the better teams for any doubles anyway?

Who's the TC play here? Saka,

    Arsenal v away at Wolves/ Chelsea H
    Bournemouth at Villa/ Wolves
BHA home to Chelsea/ Man City
Chelsea at BHA, Ars or Spurs H
    Palace home to WHU/ Newcastle
    Everton home to Forest/ Liverpool
    Liverpool away at Fulham/ Everton
Man City at Spurs / BHA
Man Utd home to Newcastle/ SHU
    Newc away at MUN/ Palace
SHU home to Burnley, MUN A
Spurs home to Man City/ Chelsea A
    Wolves home to Arsenal/ Bou

So Man Utd or possibly a Wolves player perhaps or back Salah?

An Arsenal player for a TC unless you are backing Salah away or a Man City player away in gw34?

Saka or Salah would look like the play or Solanke with dgw28.

It's going to be a Manchester United dgw trap isn't it with the possibility of a double with Sheffield United at Old Trafford...

        Bring it on.

These are all possible doubles in 34 but have you read the % likelihood each team would double?

      1. Tonyawesome69
        • 6 Years

For example Arsenal and Man City have 14% and 11% of a double in 34 respectively.

        Yeah,

Not confirmed yet so all won't be on.

But it's pretty straightforward that the teams winning in the FA Cup on 16/17 March go onto double later in the season.

    3. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years
      1 year, 9 months ago

Some of these are quite unlikely. Using Crellin's probabilities, the chances of a DGW34 for City, for example, is 24% (30% chance that tot goes ahead × 80% chance that bha moves to the midweek slot). Most likely outcome is that FA Cup SF have just a single rearranged fixture midweek.

Hmm Crellin confused me a bit too then with the double-listed percentages that don't match up... I guess I forgot to include the slim chance that e.g. for City, tot is on but not bha?

See post below then. We will find out next weekend anyway if there are any shocks - e.g. if Liverpool or City lose then you can start thinking about DG34 TC

      3. The Mentaculus
        • 4 Years
        1 year, 9 months ago

Most likely it will look like this:
        BOU: avl wol
        CRY: WHU NEW
        EVE: NFO LIV
        MUN: NEW SHU
        NEW: mun cry
        SHU: BUR mun
        WOL: ARS BOU

Maybe I would consider captaining Højlund if fit but I don't think I'd be looking at TC here

          That's tidier.

So the possibilities takes away an Arsenal and Man City double in gw34.

Is everyone loading up on Palace or Man Utd? Guess that justifies that FH34 much more then.

            • 4 Years

Personally, I'll just be dipping a toe into this one & largely sticking with SGWers. May buy Højlund & one of Gordon/Eze/Olise(?), maybe Dalot at a push, and keep Solanke. And I have Pickford & Branthwaite.

So the semi finals are still on a Saturday/Sunday at Wembley which accounts for the blanks in gw34.

The Man Utd v Liverpool quarter final is the interesting one then for dgw34 prospects.

A slightly tidier block of potential doubles in gw34.

Arsenal away at Wolves/ Chelsea H
    Bournemouth at Villa/ Wolves

        Yeah...

Both away games which indicates that TC25 with two home games wasn't a bad call at all.

Especially if you save BB for gw37 which should be wide open.

As long as your players are fit and not on the beach or benched for upcoming finals or semi finals in the Champions League etc.

Aye I've struggled all year to settle on a defender I like except Saliba and Trippier at times. Starting off with Gabriel only for him to fail to start both opening games set the tone, I bought him in large part because of his threat from set plays.

Minus 12 sounds better to me.

      Massively rewards the FH29 players.

But FH34 could pay back with Man Utd and Palace dgw players, depending on which Newcastle United turn up.

They are poorer away from home so it could be a bonanza dgw FH34 for some.

If you feel your current team looks okay for the fixtures beyond GW29 then FH is the far better choice rather than dismantling the team with hits just to deal with GW29 and going into it with only 8 players.

Tbf Spurs come out with a decent fixture in gw20. And Fulham too.

It's Manchester City v Arsenal in gw30 but as I'm picking attacking players and hoping for goals I've got no issue with backing both sides in a head to head.

            Fair point.

The last couple but a few with 4 or 5 goals in them before that. Usually to City ...

Will wait until midweek games and pressers have been but what do you think I should do with my FT here?

I want Son for 29 (when I will not be using my FH) but not sure if this is the week to get him in? Judging by Villa defence recently, maybe it is. Maybe bring him in for KDB? Toying with a -4 for a doubler but will probably give that a miss.

Not necessarily. It sounds like he's got a long standing knee issue which is being managed on a game by game basis. In essence, one GW he could feel worse than another GW.

Is gw35 too late to use the last wildcard?

A new squad for 4/5 rounds of fixtures even if one is a double gwBB.

Is the best chip going to be weakened by the other chip usage.

Or will you just wait for the usual injury crises to make the best use of yours?

Not a bad idea if you can manage without it til then. Besides setting up for BB37, one other advantage I just realised is that there's a potential DGW for Spurs & Chelsea in 35/6 (as well as 37), but in 34 they might just have SGW fixtures v MCI & ars

I'm leaning towards a wildcard in GW36 which would leave me with the strongest teams for the last 3 weeks of the season

        Good luck

        Could be gold

Who are you thinking of TC on?

Solanke... or holding for Salah in gw37 could be the differential upside play.

Won't be going Solanke. He will be too heavily backed. My alternative TC strategy works better in a double where there isn't consensus on the captaincy.

Gw34 then with Rashford or Bruno or Eze?

I'd hold for Salah but as that's likely to be gw37 if Liverpool do beat Man United in the cup, that kyboshes your dgwBB.

ideally i'd be on that, FH29, WC 35, BB37, but so many injuries keep popping up every week!

  23. Valar(Keith)

    Areola (Dubravka)
    Gabriel Doughty Senesi (Trippier Branthwaite)
    Kdb Foden Saka Palmer (Garnacho)
    Haaland Solanke Toney

    2.9 in the bank
    1 FT, FH GW 29

No real fires in my team apart from maybe trippier and kdb. Should I risk using my FT on another doubler ie Morris for Toney? Will be on my bench most weeks after anyway. Will free up all the cash I need for salah and son etc gw 30 onwards too. So

    A) Toney to Morris
    B) Toney to Watkins
    C) Kdb /Foden to Son
    D) Trippier to Spurs/Arsenal

    Which one would you prefer?

    1. The Mentaculus

I quite like A with Semenyo/ Morris if you're basically just looking at 28 in isolation

Cheers. Yup it makes sense. Wouldn't mind playing garnacho more often and benching the striker for a bit. FH 29 so no issues with that and would leave me loads of cash to spruce up my team wherever needed before a gw 34 or so WC

    Depending on fitness TC Solanke

    Dubravka,
    Saliba, Doughty, Gabriel,
    Saka, KDB, Palmer, Son, Gordon
    Watkins, Haaland, Solanke,

    Flekken, Gordon, Burn, Ake

There's a few and it's up to you.

      Broadly

      FH29, WC33/35, BB37

      Or

      FH34, WC whenever, BB37

      I think

Depends how you go into gw29.

      1. ChickenTikkaMoSalah

60% odd using FH GW29 according to the poll on here, then using WC when needed to set up GW37.

Use FTs for GW29, then WC GW31, FH GW34, BB GW37 or BB34 and FH37 are also popular strategies

Of those last 2 options because of the blanks in gw34 and gw37 likely being the big double, FH34 is the stronger play I think if you can get around gw29.

        1. The Mentaculus
          • 4 Years

We might not get any more blanks. Its actually Spurs & Fulham that are the blank risks in 34 because if the FA Cup QF go as expected then City & Pool v Spurs & Fulham would be off, but City & Pool would very likely get a midweek fixture

When we found out he was starting I was annoyed he was third on my bench and thought this will be typical … then he gets zero and I’m delighted … then Pau was benched and didn’t come on … so, I end up with Estupinan zero points off my bench anyway. NOW, if Estupinan had hauled, Pau would have one point cameo to block. That … is FPL.

Why has defence been so deplorable this season? I have three bags of particularly foul excrement in my team to offload (Pau, Estupinan and Trippier) … but I feel I would just be trading once turd for a slightly different turd. I guess Bournemouth and Doughty are easy ones this week?
