Going into 34, I'm planning to have 2FT. Going to take a -4 to get a BB team, so which players should I bring in for:

    Areola
    Gusto
    Son

    I already have:

    Neto
    Gabriel Saliba Ait Nouri Zabarnyi
    Salah Saka Palmer Mac Allister
    Haaland Darwin Isak.

Current thinking is Pickford and 2xPalace

Yeah I would go for Pickford, Munoz and Eze.

    Please:

    Leno
    Gabriel, Branthwaite, Kilman
    Salah, Son, Saka*, Foden, Palmer
    Haaland (c), Muniz

    Areola*, Solanke, Robinson, Doughty

    A. Son to Díaz, Muniz to Mateta for free
    B. Son to Sarabia/MacAllister/Mbeumo, Muniz to Darwin for free
    C. Something else

No doubles but good chance of scoring in four of the next six fixtures. 9 goals in last 10 starts. Isak the only forward in better form. £4.8m.

    1 VVD

    A Diaz
    B Havertz

    Pickford
    Porro Gabriel Gusto
    Saka Foden Son Salah Palmer
    Haaland Solanke

    Kelleher
    White, Gabriel, Ait-Nouri
    Salah, Son, Saka, Palmer
    Haaland, Darwin, Solanke

    Pickford; Sarabia, Branthwaite, Munoz

    WC gone, FH37.

    A) Sell Son and possibly Palmer to BB in 34 and then need to get them back in 35
    B) Keep and bench Son and Palmer and buy Gusto and Petrovic to BB in 35

Chelsea are away to Villa and home to spurs in 35 so not sure i even want 1 defender.

I'd prob BB in 34 selling Son for someone like Eze and just playing palmer.

Perhaps the others can do his current job better, but he has surprised us imo. However, if they are eased in, he may still get attacking returns. And I personally wouldn't be surprised if hus attacking potential will be used also with currently injured players.

I’m trying to work out whether I need to try and BB in GW34. Does anyone have ideas for a WC35 team that shows a strong BB in 37? I know it’s a long way off and there’s risks of injuries and rotation so will try and factor that in. This is where I’ve got to this morning:-

    Onana (Petrovic)
    Gabriel Schär Pedro (Gusto Branthwaite)
    KDB Foden Son Palmer (Garnacho)
    Haaland Hojlund Isak

Will try and get Saka/Salah in at the end

There's a fair bit of speculation on Man City doubling there.

They should still be in the title race and it's hard to say it will be wrapped up ...

and I guess the cup finals come afterwards so it could be fine.

I mean their top picks doubling, not the team.

Kev would be the obvious concern.

Thanks. Yes KDB was my concern too. Was thinking that he could haul in a single match/ limited minutes but maybe better with a reliable starter. Sticking with Salah or Saka despite fixtures is a definite possibility

That might help for gw38 but they have tougher games on the road.

I'm sure Man United will go for the win but if they can influence the title race between Arsenal, City or Liverpool at that point it's likely the lesser of three rivals on the terrace view!

Thanks. I’ve just been trying a WC35 with Salah and it’s more difficult to get a balanced team and a BB. So Saka may be a possible alternative

So the trade offs are broadly a focus this way

BB34 with Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and Palace + some single gw players. Wolves and Bournemouth picks too.

BB37 with Man City, Spurs, Chelsea, Man United and possibly extra Newcastle picks.

Also no Arsenal or Liverpool for their gw37 fixtures.

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Thanks. My BB34 is not looking great: Leno Garnacho Maguire Kerkez but not awful and would mean I could focus on a playing 11 for the run in. But there’s lots of options for 37 with relatively good chance of starting all matches (eg Gordon, Gross, Garnacho and Everton defs are cheap, reliable and good fixtures without breaking the bank)

I’m leaning towards holding my nerve and holding to 37, with a couple of FTs to address issues.

The BB is really decided by the second keeper you have in place, the 8th attacker and obviously the merits of the fixtures for the extra defenders.

It's probably as easy as looking at who your sub goalkeeper has in gw34 or gw37 and the respective merits all-round.

If it comes down to a second keeper then BB37 is nailed. Leno has been really frustrating and are playing Liverpool.

I like Garnacho v SHU but the advantage this year is that around half the teams in the league will have something to play for towards the end of the season (even if it’s kyboshing rivals - Spurs springs to mind).

Thanks very much for your help. Got a couple of weeks to think about it (next move is a Liverpool mid in any event) but I think I’m comfortable with my strategy

Which option do you prefer for DGW34?

    a) Juggernaut midfield with Salah Saka Díaz Havertz + Ode/Mac (no room for Virgil, Darwin, Saliba)

    b) Balanced midfield with Eze Sarabia Salah Saka Brereton (with Saliba/Gab double up, Virgil, Darwin).

      Tbf I like both midfields.

There's two questions with Liverpool defence, how many clean sheets will they get? I think Fulham can easily score at home as they do.

So it's on the Everton game.

If there's no Trent then Bradley is a hold. Not sure VVD is worth the cost unless you punt on a headed goal.

So the real elephant in the room is when is Trent back and is he in full swing?

Suddenly budget matters with Trent in the picture.

*Brereton to Old Trafford is quite the punt, mind.

Excellent reply, thanks mate. Brereton is certainly a huge punt. Fancy him at home to Burnley and United are that side that can easily not turn up. Even if United win they leak goals so I do like the punt.

Forgot about Trent nearing a return. The trouble with the likes of Olise, Cunha, Trent is they could easily not play both games in the double or even reduced minutes in both games so it detracts from trying to maximise 15 DGW players x 2.

Good point about Virgil, I am punting on him scoring a header because they won’t be getting clean sheets.

Olise could be a great pick...

It would be best to wait a week, especially with Palace at Anfield.

Many have 2 FTs, so will be forced to go early on a move, other than burn.
