Evaluate my lineup for the WC.

    Flekken-Valdimardsson
    TAA-Robinson-Gabriel-Konsa-Greaves
    Salah-Rogers-Semenyo-Mbeumo-Jota
    Haaland-Pedro-Cannon.

Gives myself one round without Palmer to see if this Chelsea match wasn't,a bit of a fluke match. Low xG and a lot of goals

    GTG?

    Sels
    TAA - Robinson - Nedeljkovic
    Saka - Palmer - Jota - ESR
    Haaland - Isak - Muniz

    Bentley - Burn - Winks - Barco

Thoughts on the Bailey/Rogers double up. WC midfield of:

    Salah, Saka, Palmer, Bailey, Rogers

1m more than ESR/Semenyo and no Haaland means I've got plenty of cash floating about.

Bailey 150 points from 22 starts last year. Could be a breakout season for him. Who's his competition?

Same thoughts hence went Bailey and Watkins. But he’s dropping soon - maybe wait for him to drop before buying.

    All have fairly good fixtures.

I'm not sure I would classify him as red hot. One return in two game weeks (albeit a large one) does that make him in better form than Salah or Saka or even Jota would have returned in back to back?

Agreed. Red hot form? He was literally unmarked and made three 3-meters-straight passages even Kepa Arrizabalaga would have completed. He's a phenomenon, for sure, but certainly not for what shown v Wolves.

I'm not buying him as I have a stacked 5 in mid but he's looked great. Seem a truly powerful runner and when you combine that with Watkins and Bailey speed thats a very quick counter attack. Watkins needs to find some form and finish the chances but Rogers could easily be in the points himself if he keeps playing like this.

I have Hwang in my team and want to get rid but have no cash in the bank and I do not like the 6.5m options. I have ESR already from the category below. Who else could I consider? The alternative is sell Salah for Palmer and bring in Diaz (already have Jota) for Hwang and then use the spare change on my defence. I am reluctant to do this though as Salah is fixture proof.

    1. Pumpkinhead
      • 11 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

How and why did you have Hwang in your team? I love the guy but their fixtures are atrocious. I personally don't like any of the moves listed. Maybe drop him down to a 4.5 and bank the cash assuming you have a front 7 that plays?

      1. The Big Fella
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

I assumed he would be playing OOP up front and there are not many good options for midfielders at the 6.5m price range. He was the only swerve ball pick in my team though and I got 80+ in both GWs so far.

Maybe - I still think the WC holds enough value as you don't have to save and can just pull the trigger when needed. The flexibility alone makes it just as critical imho.

How did Jackson suddenly become a better FPL asset than Isak after 1 blank? I get the Chelsea / Palmer hype, but Jackson is specially known throughout his entire time at london for not being clinical in front of goal. Last game he only generated 0.17xG. I might be wrong, but i see it as an outlier game for him. Isak much better imo.

Obviously a bit of knee jerk reactions + fixture swing.

Personally, I agree that Isak is the better FPL asset at this point. Although, I do think Jackson gets a bad rep/gets underrated by a lot of people. For all of the criticism he has received, he still scored 14 goals in his debut season in an unsettled team (also went to AFCON). Jackson also does well off the ball + has an assist in him too. I'm a Chelsea fan so understandably biased haha.

    Haaland (C) Isak Wood

Toney being probably the best penalty taker in world football makes me a bit uneasy holding Palmer if/when this happens

Nobody is taking pens from Palmer in the forseeable future

Would you bet against Toney taking over pens if he moves to Chelsea?!!

I would be working Saka and Havertz into my team

Not keen on any of Soucek Colwill or Jebb

Great article. I would add that one associated impact is that picking safe starters makes it more likely you'll be able to accumulate your transfers. So that certainly impacted my gw1 team.
