I'd risk it without Haaland and spread the cash. Palmer and Salah are perfect for captaining and will possibly outscore Haaland due to extra routes to points. I'd try and squeeze Saka in there, but that's just me.

      1. Catastrophe
        • 14 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

Thanks. I can't bear to go without Haaland!

I do prefer Saka to Havertz but Havertz in isolation is a great option due to form, price, minutes etc. I can move to Saka but would mean downgrading Robertson and bench which I don't really want to do.

        Thx

Good balance for Haaland + Salah + Palmer draft.

Keep as is but keep in mind Lewis is a short term pick

Thanks. Yeah agree re Lewis although Pep does seem to like him! At some point I could well move him on and reinstate Gvardiol for Robertson.

Pedro + ESR + Rogers feels suboptimal to fit a third premium attacker in. Could be gold if you've nailed this season's Palmer, but I feel it's a bit too early to make a call on that

ESR especially hasn't impressed me so far, in two games against leaky opponents

I'll take Welbeck over Pedro due to his open-play threat

VDV... That's mostly clean sheets. From Ange's Spurs. I understand that he's there because there aren't many clear 4.5s though

      1. Ze_Austin
        • 7 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

FWIW, I've gone with this attack on WC, with Welbeck as Solanke's placeholder:

        Palmer Jota Eze Rogers
        Haaland Havertz Solanke

I consider Jota, Havertz and Solanke as rare captaincy options. Very unlikely to outscore Salah, Saka or Son respectively, but I like the balance of overall points. I'll mostly cap Haaland and Palmer for the foreseeable future anyway

        1. Catastrophe
          • 14 Years
          1 year, 3 months ago

Thanks. That's very similar to my GW1 squad. Eze has been unlucky not to haul, Jota has been good value but I fear he's going to be subjected to injuries and/or rotation very soon which we know Salah is just about immune to.

      2. Catastrophe
        • 14 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

Thanks. Of course yeah there is compromise in getting the three premiums in. ESR, Pedro/Welbeck (good shout) and Rogers seem decent options for now. With an early WC I'm obviously taking some risks but it's an educated risk given Palmer, Salah, Havertz form and history etc.

        1. Ze_Austin
          • 7 Years
          1 year, 3 months ago

Tbh, Palmer is my reason for dropping Salah, as I don't want too much money tied up in Haaland + Salah. Palmer gives me a top captain in GW5 vs West Ham, and that's only if I decide against capping Havertz vs Leicester. In all other GWs until GW1, Haaland has it good. Newcastle in GW6 isn't a tough fixture with how they're defending atm: last season + every moment outside the GW1 ten-man hour. Their xGC vs Bournemouth was 2.23

None of this means Salah will blank regularly, of course. I just prefer the points potential in Jota + Solanke + Eze to Salah + ESR + Pedro/Welbeck, after picking Haaland as my captain

Thanks. Yeah fair enough, I understand the logic and that is how my team was previously set up. It makes sense. In this scenario I'm banking on spurs points being too spread between the attackers, Palace's form being hit and miss and Jota at some point having to share minutes or picking up an injury. But let's see, could easily go either way!

          Most likely

          Nketiah replaced Edouard

Mateta has to do a lot wrong to get dropped. Palace insisted early in the transfer window that he wasn't possibly for sale

One last look at this before I pass out before deadline (US tz does not suit FPL):

    Henderson
Saliba - Porro - Ruben Dias
    Palmer (C) - Saka - Jota - Eze
Haaland - Muniz - João Pedro

(Fabianski) (Johnson - Sangaré - Quansah*)

Do you think there is a lot between Wissa and Mbeumo? (Pens aside) ?

Wissa is very underrated. He can easily get 20 goal contributions in a full season. Is nailed till Jan at the least and can see him coming very cl9se to mbeumo.. mbeumo getting an extra point for a goal plus CS and a few penos will probably be the only difference between them
