Is Robertson worth a -4 hit for Johnson? I can’t stretch to get TAA, short 0.5…
    Defense is:
    Lewis Konsa Faes Johnson Robinson

    Cheers!

Can you do Konsa > TAA for a -4 if he's ruled out? Otherwise I would just roll.

Wait for official confirmation, but he went off injured last night. I would do that move if there is any doubt over Konsa starting.

Does anyone know if Nathan Aké's injury is serious? I still own Gvardiol so it would improve his chances of not falling foul of Pep roulette until I wildcard.

NGL, I am tempted to switch to Alisson for 2 weeks and use an extra FT (I have 3) but I wouldn’t be surprised if Liverpool concede in 1, it’s always the way,

Historically means nothing in the current climate, this current Arsenal incarnation has beat that current Spurs incarnation in the last 2 games at Spurs ground, that’s what the focus needs to be on not what happened 6/7 years ago.

Beat them without Rice in one of the games I speak off (also beat them with Nketiah upfront in that game)

Odegaard is a quality player but hasn’t got going this year, Arteta won’t be replacing him with a bad player.

Odegaard not the only one other, Arsenal looked wasteful v Brighton before they went down to 10 men, overrun by Villa the week before for large portions of the game and probably beaten if it wasn't for Watkins.

Forget the last two seasons. That needs to be the focus.

Oh in that case pile in on an Arsenal side against a Spurs team who failed to beat a dire Leicester team when they were at full strength & an out of sorts Newcastle time.

Villa will run most teams hard, still lost.

That’s where the focus should be.

That's wrong. Just a few months ago Spurs' current manager was saying the foundations at the club are fragile, while Arsenal is pretty much at their peak comparing to the last decade. Spurs haven't shown much signs of improvement, and we all know Arsenal badly controlled the Brighton game simply because they were down to 10, and even then they created a couple of good chances to win it.

At Villa park, they've done the necessary and even kept a clean sheet, so they are still expected to perform well in all of their upcoming fixtures no matter how difficult they seem - they have a clear goal, and know what it takes to reach it. For now it's just a question of how much of a blow are the absences of Rice and Odegaard.

Nothing is wrong, these are opinions. You clearly have a different take away from what I've seen across those games and that isn't wrong either.

Whilst I don't think Arsenal were at threat of not getting the job done v Brighton, I believe they were against Villa and arguably went unpunished, due to Villa's ineptitude, not through Arsenal's doing.

From what I've seen this season, I don't believe Arsenal are quite the well oiled side that people saw last season and I honestly don't believe Rice will be missed based on his own personal performances. I think he was also lacking at the Euro's and again last night, extremely unlucky to go unpunished for that pass to the Finland striker who we all know should passed it to Pukki for the sitter. Yes, he took his goal well against Ireland but that's not his game. Not regaining/retaining possession or causing a transition that directly leads to a goal scoring opportunity is.

                  But hey, opinions. Embrace them.

That's fair. I do think they are even better than they were last year with a young squad becoming more mature and experienced, but their general approach is slightly adjusted every year.

Since reaching top form in the past few seasons, I feel in 2022/23 they focused on playing an attractive brand of football, 23/24 was more about controlling games, creating less chances but not letting the opponent have any either (hence the best defence in the league), and this year they look more pragmatic - willing to suffer in certain periods but overall the high press is at such a level, that regaining possession is imminent, which enables them to control the game and dismotivate the opponent. Unfortunately, the biggest concern so far was the discipline, again falling for easy tricks from the opponents like Rice did, and being able to overcome this victim attitude, which kinda also stems from the fanbase.

Nice perspective, I also agree with a lot of what you say there. You can see a new willingness to suffer at the right moments, in the right areas, but still impose themselves on the opposition for the majority. Perhaps its just a bit of early season rustiness where the lack of concentration creeps in.

Agreed on the victim attitude also but I think all clubs have their own cases.

Landed on WC6, starting Gabriel or Robinson will depend on this GW transfer.

Let's see how the pressers and team news after IB impacts transfers/WC plans

    Option 1 Salah:
GW4 - Gabriel to Dunk or save FT
GW5 - Saka to Salah or Gabriel and Saka to Dunk and Salah

    Option 2 no Salah:
    GW4 - Gabriel to Robbo
    GW5 - Saka to Son

    1FT 1.5ITB
    Henderson
    TAA Gabriel Konsa
    Saka Gordon Eze Rogers
    Haaland Isak Pedro

    TC Haaland this week?

6 days rest. Brentford at home who have a bottom 5 defense this season (they've played Liverpool tbf). Going for a record 3rd hat-trick in a row. Crazy thought?

GW9 at home vs SOU seems like the plum atm but we don't know what effect UCL might have and Haaland's fitness/City's setup/form.

If GW9 passes us by I have a feeling I'll hold it until like GW30 and then wait around for a DGW opportunity that doesn't come.

Leicester at home is right at the end when rotation is likely to be at its highest.

GW9 vs SOU or bust then because LEI isn't until GW30 and by then UCL rotation will be really high.

Maybe GW14 vs MUN at home honestly. United can be incredibly naive away from home. They do okay in finals but at the Etihad, I can see Haaland scoring a hatful.

Utd is 3 days after Juventus away. Southampton is also after a UCL game.
Brentford is barely a bottom 10 defence.
You missed your TC opportunity basically, and now you're just guessing.

This week doesn't seem that bad to me. Yeah it's not as good as IPS on paper but it could well be better than GW9 or 14 as you say.

And if you wait more you might not get the opportunity you think you will. Just considering it. Did you TC in 2? If no, what's your plan?

Brentford I think were the last EPL team that Haaland scored against to get bingo, and one game was where Foden got a hat-trick so I think they do well (at least better) against Haaland than most through man-marking (Collins) and low blocks which Haaland struggles (relatively) with. Wolves beat Man C last season and basically said to Dawson, this is your man, man-mark, and Haaland didn't like it one bit. VVD, Saliba have taken on this role as well with success, and Collins I think can do it too. The teams that persist with high line in spite of this and play to Haaland's strengths, like Ipswich and West Ham so far, deserved everything they got - tactically braindead decisions by McKenna and Lopetegui, or inflexible at best.

I still have TC, but used BB straightaway mainly because, like you touched on, the first 3 weeks are the only ones where rotation and game time isn't a concern. No plan, just whenever it feels right, and Brentford doesn't feel right to me (I will still captain him though).

So A without the -4 hit

    Raya
    Trent Gvardiol Porro
Salah (C) Jota Saka Rogers ESR

I've currently got 4 players in the North London derby.

Not that bad a team, only really want to take out Nkunku and Onana from your starting XI - if you've only 1 transfer you can swap out the former?

Why would he take out Onana? Have I missed something on his fitness etc?

Nothing wrong with Onana than he's a DCM

He seems like he's in good form and is scoring goals. I didn't see either match he scored in, so was it more luck than attacking threat?

I don't think you've got enough problems to justify WC. Jist sort Nkunku, and maybe swap keeper out?

        @Udogie-Style -
        1. Who would you swap out for Nkunku? Eze?
2, Also, what 4.5 keeper is a better option than Flekken? From gw 6 to 13 Brentford have a very appealing run of games with clean sheet potential.

    Better combo of these please?

    A) Fabianski (sub keeper), TAA, Rogers, Welbeck (already have Joao Pedro and will have to bench Rogers to play both)
    B) Verbruggen, Robertson, Onana, Wissa (will be benched and I'll play Onana) GW4

Verbruggen could really be any 4.5m keeper in example B.

    Cheers

          Don't be like that.

I'm pleased at the news he's not going to be in the team, not pleased that he's injured.

My comment is self-deprecating. Spurs are not as good as Arsenal at the moment and need every help we can get after a few years of doing badly in the NLD.

This is an estimate before the MRI scan.

      The doctor also states:

Any other heroes here who can beat my current season?

Went a bit off template in GW1 including a gamble on the re-birth of Rashford and had other punts such as Kulu, Jota, Rodgers and Murphy in my midfield but no Salah withvthe aim to bring in three premium defenders plus Haaland, Isak and Solanke instead.

Panicked after GW2 as half of my team was alrrady on sale, pulled the WildCard just to go straight out of the LMS competition with my WC team and to drop beyond 5 mio. in the overall ranking, not even close to 200 points.

Now,.still no Salah or Diaz (but Jota who turns out ro become the next Firminho) and half of my team flagged with injury concerns.

Please.can we reveal the new mystery chip which I hope.is the restart the season button.

I think the new chip might be one of these:

      A) Auto-captain. It captains your highest scoring player that week. It could be pretty powerful in a double where sometimes a random defender gets a monster haul. There are some issues with this idea however, with the main one being that you cant play two chips in the same week so you couldn't use it with TC. We will have limited doubles this season to use chips also.

      B) Quartet. You can choose any single team where you can have up to 4 of their players for the rest of the season.

      C) Five 3's. You instantly get 5 FT when you decide to activate it.

      D) Accumulator. You can get an additional £1M if you activate the chip straight away. However, if you don't take the million it gains 0.1 interest each month until you do activate it. So if you hold it longer, you will get considerably more money.

These are just my guesses. I think A is probably the most likely, but B is maybe not that hard to imagine. D is a cool idea IMO, but people get confused with this game as it is, let alone trying to get them to understand that.

D sounds a bit too complicated.

        A & B might work.

However, I would rather prefer an Auto-sub Chip, which would work like A just not specifically for the captain only.

Or maybe it allows you to combine chips which would be harsh for everyone who already used their chips.

          • 6 Years

Combining would be cool, didn't think of that. The issue I see with it however is some people will have spunked all their chips already and wouldn't have 2 left to combine by Jan (BB, FH and TC gone).

The auto sub could be a possibility. But it seems to be a very weak chip IMO. Personally I very rarely ever get a sub coming in, and my bench players rarely get any points. I think so far this season, with a playing bench, excluding my keeper who doesn't play, I am averaging 3 bench points a week.

I'm 238 and I think that's a good start. You're a couple of variant week scoring from some gains. Jota hasn't become bad after 1 blank in 3 games. Rogers will come good. Chin up

With so many great picks in the premium attackers bracket mainly Haaland, Salah, Palmer, Saka & Son, one big name is going under the radar that is KDB!

      Mbeumo- 7.1- 24pts
      Welbeck- 5.7- 23pts
      Semenyo- 5.6-19pts
      KDB- 9.6- 16pts
He's an awful FPL asset at the moment.
