With Arteta's latest (gloomy) media lie, are we to assume Saka will be back on Sunday?

Someone made a good point before the last deadline: Arteta positive update = he's genuinely doubtful / injured, Arteta negative update = he will be fine.

Gonna bench this wk and play Alt-Nori.

Just played wc and Saka/Greaves flagged already not ideal.

Really gonna try save 3/4 transfers if I feel my wc was a mistake in a few wks time.

Why bench? Leave him in the team and if he plays you get the points, if he doesn't your sub comes on. If he's genuinely injured they're unlikely to risk him for a 10 minute cameo.

    Arteta's post match presser:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUDWiiD-J4g

"Ben was my decision to take him out, he had a YC, we played enough with 10 men..."
"With Calafiori it was something different, he had to come off because he felt something. I don't know the extent of that..."
On the penalty(Havertz would've broken the club record if scoring in 8 consecutive home games): "They made that decision, the pen taker is normally Saka or Odegaard and after that we have 2 or 3 players that can take it..."

    Saka from 9:20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4hOk_U2Bk8
"I don't know, so he wasn't able to train yet, so that's unlikely"

Arteta has taken Peps playbook to use in every aspect.
His thoughts on someone being fit or not to play can be totally disregarded. More he talks, more convinced I am Saka plays against Liverpool.

I brought in Son and McNeil this week for Saka and Diaz.

Sticking with Gabriel just because I would bring him in GW12 WC anyways. And really dont mind Saka dropping in price either. As it was gameplan to tripleup then anyways . Plusside not having to fear a randon haul with high ownership before then.
Gab has always the chance VVD loses him in a cornersituation and he gets a random header in.

Why not really. If Branthwaite is back he then probably comes off the bench to play in that case. Am expecting a 1-1 borefest in any case, hoping pools goal is from Salah, but prolly is Gakpo or some other random.

What is going on with Foden? Last season was his best so far. I know he had some kind of injury/illness at the start of this season, but still? How long can his recovery take if he's still not fully fit, because that's the excuse I see often atm. I expected him to be playing over 70 minutes at this point.

its odd , but when he finally starts consistently he could be a gem again

He has started 4 in the last 7 in all comps incl England so not sure fitness is the issue.

Feels like due to Fulham game and no Rodri, Pep tactically wants to be a bit more conservative in the centre

Good Options for def under 6.1?

Have Gab and Maz but trading out TAA as i need funds to sort out injured players like Mosquera and Stewart

Bringing in Larsen for Stewart to cover pontentially Saka not playing

    a)Gvardiol
    b)Lewis
    c)Konate
    d)Collins/Pinnock

Drop down to 4.5ish bracket, allows more funds for premium attackers

In GW8 I bought in Maddison and Foden for Saka and Diaz using my 2 FT's, seemed a good move at the time. But as we saw Maddison went off at HT and Foden didn't even start vs Wolves. Would you just hold and hope for the best in GW9 or I could use my 1 FT and move Foden to Son?

I have the same issue with Maddison. I think if he starts on Thursday it is pretty damning for his chance of starting at the weekend. If you look at the reason for the change it was mainly susceptibility to the counter-attack that was the problem, and both of their next games (Palace and Villa) are against teams who have counter-attacking ability.

I really want to roll a transfer this week but not sure I can get away with benching Maddison or playing him for 1 point.

Maddison starting tomorrow depends on how strong the rest of the lineup is tomorrow

I'd happily hold Foden vs SOU (H).

Maddison is probably considered don't buy don't sell due to the tactical sub and Kulu staying on as the preferred 8.

Foden is tough, feels like you should keep him for the Southampton game but I can see why you want to fix the wrong decision straight away

I would go for the move. I'm sitting on Foden & Maddison too & shipping both out, but would make Foden the priority pretty much for the reasons Tony gives just above.

Unfortunate with Maddison as he's seemed in decent form but the subbing does imply that Kulusevski is preferred as the main 8/10 if Ange wants to play one creator with 2 runners. Not really sure tbh if that preference will apply to Palace

With Calafiori a doubt, along with Timber and Saliba suspended, is it a good idea to play Van den Berg instead of Gabriel? Rest of team:

    Sanchez (Fabianski)
    TAA Gabriel Lewis
    Rogers McNeil Son Johnson
    Haaland(c) Jackson Wood

    Subs: VDB Kovacic Greaves

Could work, although Berg might not start.
