Morning all, anyone else got Aina's 15 pointer on their bench!? any chance that 1 of Mbuemo, ESR, Palmer or Solanke don't play?

Solanke will look like he's not playing if that helps?

Solanke is not getting enough service. The other players bypass him a lot of the time, it is ridiculous.

    Best Dcl replacement?

    1) Welbeck
    2) Raul
    3) Larsen
    4) Cunha
    5) Wood

I always have that fear that if I go with Welbeck, he will get injured, coz he has always been injured since I ever played this game. He must be looking after his body well nowadays. Without fear, he is the one for me for now. Cunha and Wood close 2nd and third.

DCL has been fit for over a season. He's just not that good. He's not even worth the title of troll, as that would suggest that he had got some got points to warrant getting him your FPL team.

6-odd weeks ago all the content creators recommended him for the fine fixtures to come. I knew instinctively it was an execrable recommendation and that these content creators, most of whom have execrable ranks, were not worth a pinch of sheet! One of mine favourite hobbies, not that I’m retired, is rubbing it in to owners by asking ‘how are DCL owners feeling?’

I'm guessing FPL Review, or whatever they use, recommended him as a pick.

I looked at him and then noticed that he had plenty of starts last season, just a few less than Isak, so didn't think he was underpriced or an option for my team.

Goes to show how XG is the content creators bible, rather than watching a game for a change. The last 2 Everton games have been woeful. I am not a betting man but a friend asked for a result and he made a few bob listening to me.

I must agree with your sentiments. As a supporter, it has a lot to do with the manager. Sure Dom's XG is awful but he is Knackered up front chasing high balls and competing against 2 center backs. I warned everyone about Everton at the start of the season. Branthwaite was on the bench and Dyche insists on bringing a center back up front rather than playing Beto and DCL together. Dyche has done a good job through plenty of adversity but when the new owners are official, expect to see a change.

They've all got merit and you can probably add Evanilson to the list. Larsen is probably bottom of the list for me despite his goal yesterday because I think Wolves are the worst team/attack of them and he's not got penalties where the others probably do or at least a share of them depending on who is fit. Look at the minutes, look at the fixtures and then who you think. Price obviously could be a factor regards Cunha and Wood although I suspect its not an issue as you included them. They are all upgrades on DCL so its probably not one to stress over too much.

Cheers. I look at Brighton and they are the best team in attack compared to all others. Welbeck also gets many chances to score, only issue is will he break once i bring him in, or Joao Pedro will eventually displace him over time, given fixtures will start to pile up during the festive season. Given how bad I have done so far, I just have a feeling this may go wrong as well.

The great and the good FOMO edition
GW9 - 17 out of 18 had Haaland and only one had Salah(he also had Haaland)
    GW10 - 8 out of 18 have Haaland and 14 have Salah(four have both)

If they thought Brighton was such a good fixture for Salah, what do they think of Brighton vs City next?

I agree. Also think Salah is the better pick with price factored in and even much better once you factor in the overall pricing of the players this season.
This is just about the Brighton fixture.

Of course, it was a long term decision. Watched a lot of content last week and most were undecided strongly leaning towards keeping. Mark did it early and caught one? price rise on Salah.
There was one guy that had 5 or 7? reasons not to sell Haaland, I bet he gave in to FOMO as well. 😆
I will sell Haaland as well soon, even take a hit or two if I have to.
Brighton are fearless and I highly doubt they will play a low block, although City pushes every team back with their passive possession.
I don't know, but there's a good chance this will be a different game for city than what they've played in recent weeks.

Never had such a poor rank at this stage in the season, now just outside 2m! One of those whose struggles have hinged on my GW6 wildcard (selling Salah and Gvardiol, going double Arsenal defence, DCL over Wood) and it’s a long way back.

For some reason, finding it easier to accept it this weekend. A lot of us with good records are struggling and I keep trying to remind myself the game doesn’t matter… but it’s hard when we’re on here so much and devote so much thinking time to it!

I think the only way to save my season and to have some fun might be to go for a few punts. Man Utd mids for the next two anyone?!

You’re right. I just feel I need to take calculated risks. Usually it’s players like Haaland who mitigate the risk but his underperformance has been massively costly

        1. Flaming Flamingo
          • 9 Years
          1 year, 1 month ago

I wildcarded at the same time, so am in a similar spot myself, though took Haaland out this week. At this point, holding Haaland could be the calculated risk (and simultaneously open the door for cheaper punts like Garnacho). The multitude of options this season means you can play your own game and still have the opportunity to be different, which I love

Team in shambles below 2m rank

    Raya
    TAA, Ait-Nouri, Gabriel
    Palmer, Mbeumo, Foden, Semenyo
    Haaland, Cunha, Wood
    4.0, Dibling, Mykolenko, Greaves
    1FT, 0.2 ITB

    A - TAA -> Gvardiol
    B - TAA, Foden -> Gvardiol, Bruno/Garnacho (-4)
C - Haaland, Foden -> Welbeck, Salah (-4), leaves money for Dibling -> Saka in GW12

He should have had 3 assists yesterday. With 1 assist he still got 1 bp. With the fixtures he seems a great pick with multiple routes to points. The others are also good picks but Wood's fixtures turn a little now, I'm curious to see if he continues to score.

Yep. Can his captaincy cover nearly 10% of your whole budget. Expensive defenders failing has saved ranks even more for Haaland followers. This won't continue.

Yeah he's very expensive and with the change to bonus points system there are other viable, cheaper options (Salah for one). I transferred out Haaland this week. I have an eye on GW18 as a possible return but let's swee how that goes.

Right decision if benched. Richarlison is a better player than Solanke. The former can hit 15 goals in the league if Ange makes him number one choice. The Solanke signing for Spurs just didn't make sense.

Playing for a small club where expectations aren't high.
He now plays for a bigger club with greater expectations and looks clueless. Not surprised at all, history has shown us he isn't a big club player.
The content writers all had him in their draft teams before the season started and the masses followed.

He's only started 7 PL games for Tottenham, so I don't think we can make sweeping statements like that yet. After a similar amount of games last season, everyone was saying how terrible Richarlison was - and now you are calling for him to start over their record signing. Things can change very quickly

He was playing for a smaller club. Less expectations.
Before the season started, I called it that Solanke most likely flops at Spurs, on the basis, he's struggled playing for bigger clubs before, he's just mentally not strong enough. He may prove me wrong but Richarlison is a better fit for Spurs.

Want to take a little punt on some potential good vibes round Man U for the next few games. No spots in midfield spare, who looks the most interesting of their defenders? Mazraoui looks a decent price at least and was decent at the start of the season. Dalot looks a little better but unsure on the price as I would bench now and again.

I think there is more value in the likes of Bruno and Garnacho, but if you had to pick a defender, maybe Dalot. We can only assume right now, but there is a good chance he will be more attacking under Amorim.

      1. The Sociologist
        • 6 Years

I agree, but it’s Johnson they’d be replacing, and Saka dovetails better with Johnson’s fixtures to replace I think. Would like to gamble on Mazraoui to not spend the extra money, but maybe Dalot is a little more secure. Thanks for your thoughts. Am open to having Bruno/Garnacho replace Johnson instead of Saka for GW12 but want to see how Amorim sets up first I think.
