    WC12 Fill in the blanks...

    Sanchez (Fab)
    Konate RAN Robinson (Maz van Hecke)
    Salah Bruno Saka Palmer (xxx)
    Cunha xxx xxx

    A) Rogers + Isak + Welbeck
    B) Semenyo + Isak + JP
    C) Semenyo + Jackson + Welbeck

    All options result in 0.1itb.

      B but can't see when you will play Semenyo. Lots of benching dilemmas.
      In GW 14 Bruno has ARS(A) and Semenyo has TOT(H). Rogers would have BRE(H) that GW. Maybe Rogers+Isak+JP.

      B as well. It leaves you with two players who are on 4 yellows but you'll have a hench bench to cover it if worse case happens

      I have a slightly different opinion. Semenyo is better than Rogers, because Semenyo is nailed and gets 90 mins each week, he's in reasonable form and has good fixtures where he doesn't see Liverpool, City or Chelsea until way after xmas. Rogers is a minutes risk and has Chelsea (A) City (H) Newc (A) before xmas plus European fixtures.
      I like the Cuhna pick and would go Isak to pair with him and play your 5 mids. Then you could have a cheap forward like Archer (or similar) on the bench. I would also downgrade one of the bench defenders (Van Hecke?) to Faes to save some cash and allow some flexibility if you need to put out any fires.
      In summary, Van Hecke > (Faes); Semenyo; Cunha; Isak; (Archer)

    A. Solanke mbeumo > palmer wissa
    B. Haaland Soucek > palmer Isak

    Haaland solanke wood

    Valdi Soucek faes greaves

        It was never about the community for them to begin with, it was always about the coins. There won't be many coins on Bluesky, so they'll be back so fast you won't even notice they "left".

          A lot of journalist/media and others don't have the realistic option to delete at the moment. X was useful once, and so many are still on it that if you completely disable your ability to access it and in the media/football [goes for any specific business/sport] line of work, you're shutting down access to information you're probably expected to know about. Doesn't indicate personal support or opposition one way or the other. Deletion of an account less relevant than opening others elsewhere, whether it's BlueSky, Threads, Mastodon, Discord or whatever, if it's only passively used.

    Flekken lol
    RAN Dunk Konsa
    Salah Palmer Mbuemo Adama
    Welbeck Haaland Cunha
    Fab, THB, Winks, Greaves
    1ft, 2.4m ITB

    Adama a huge greasy issue. Defence a bit pants but fixtures looking good if Dunk comes back soon. Bench is fodder. So....

    2FT 0.6ITB

    Sanchez
    Trent, Gabriel, Colwill
    Palmer, Mbuemo, Rogers, Semenyo
    Haaland, Strand, Solanke

    Sells. Maddison, Milenkovic, Greaves

    a) Haaland + Madders -> Isak + Salah
    b) Solanke + Madders -> Joao Pedro + Saka
    c) Trent + Madders -> Saliba/Konate + Bruno
    d) Trent + Madders -> Hall + Saka
    e) Trent + Madders + Solanke -> Hall + Salah + Joao Pedro (-4)
    f) Haaland + Semenyo + Madders -> Joao Pedro + Salah + Saka (-4)

    I'm currently leaning towards B, keeping Haaland actually is easier to get to three premiums and the stats suggest he should explode soon.

        Isak feels better as a structure. Not keen on 3x budget strikers, leaves you quite restricted if you want an Isak/Watkins etc as you have to borrow from midfield and use multiple moves

      2. Captain Mal
        • 1 Year

        You could get Isak in Haaland's spot and if Pedro proves to be the real deal, you could do Wissa to Pedro after the former plays Everton and Leicester.

          I'm not a fan of taking hits for a defender.
          Firstly, there's a slight chance he plays, so that will feel awful.
          Secondly, is there a defender you believe will outscore Lewis + 4? I don't think so, defenders are highly unpredictable this season.

            I agree, it's not often I'd take a hit for a defender either, or indeed any player. Caveat though is if we get news Trent is out then I quite like a -4 punt on Gab, a nailed CB with goal threat playing for last seasons best defence, with key players returning I anticipate an Arsenal resurgence. Lewis mins are in question and he's playing one of the best attacks in the league (statistically at least!). I am not 100% but as of now leaning towards the hit on this basis.

    Had a go at a potential WC draft:

    Verbruggen Fabianski
    Gabriel RAN Digne Hall VDB
    Salah Palmer Saka Fernandes Semenyo
    Isak Jackson Pedro

    Main issue is the restructuring needed if you wanted to get Haaland

    1. Captain Mal

      You'd have to sell Salah and Isak to do it in 2 transfers.

      You have to ask yourself under what circumstances you would want Haaland back? Everyone knows he will start scoring more regularly again, its just at what rate of scoring you feel comfortable not owning and in all likelihood that factor in itself won't be enough if Palmer/Salah/Saka are keeping tabs with him anyway.

      Don't know, Rogers is going to get chances if Palace still don't really have any senior players for the double pivot... Bournemouth & Fulham away are probably the tougher fixtures

        Maybe Rogers at home but that Bri vs Bou screams goals both very quick counter attacking

          Everton's defence has improved significantly and Brentford have been terrible away from home, so benching Mbeumo could be an option, too.

      I've brought Pedro in this week but I plan to play Rogers ahead of him.

      Could easily go the other way but I feel Palace at home is the favourable fixture.

    What are the odds of Joao Pedro coming off the bench in the next match? That's my only concern choosing him over Welbeck..

    1. Captain Mal
      • 1 Year

      Next match specifically I think Pedro starts, he will be fully rested after the international break. However, there's a great chance he misses the occasional game during the upcoming busy period. Keep in mind that this is also true for Welbeck.
      Welbeck has been in my team for ages now, so I will stick with him, but if I were to buy one right now I would probably go with Pedro.

        Cheers. Yeah, I suppose a lot of players are at risk of getting the occasional rest in the coming festive period. Make sense to save that 0.5 and go with Pedro then.

      Pedro is great but he's a punt with rotation risk ...

      Even if this manager is more loyal there's plenty of options in attack for Brighton.

              Turkish media reported it depends if he needs surgery which could result in 2 months out.

              Reputable Brighton reporters state he should be fine for Bournemouth but this was reported before the City game.

    Haaland - Solanke - Strand Larsen

          I practically wild carded because felt Palmer needs to get in. Would have managed otherwise. I think for upcoming 7-9 gameweeks he above any other needs to be in the team.
          Also helps he doesnt have to play euro-games.

    1ft 0.7 itb
    Flekken
    TAA, Gabriel, Mykolenko
    Palmer, Bruno, Mbeumo, Semenyo, Rogers
    Haaland, Raul
    (Vald, Cunha, Lewis, Milenkovic)

    Yet again, I'm probably going to end up bottling the big structural move from Haaland to Salah because it'll take too many hits and there's other fires to put out in defence (TAA, Lewis).

    A) TAA -> Saliba and reassess Haaland post-Spurs
    B) TAA/Haaland/Rogers -> Salah/Isak/Saliba for a -8
    C) Haaland/Rogers -> Salah/Isak for a hit, and play Lewis (Tot) assuming TAA out
    D) Anything else?

    1. Captain Mal
      • 1 Year

      Spurs should really suit Haaland, especially if Dragusin plays, getting rid of him for a hit isn't optimal.
      Trent probably has to go, though I like Konate more than Saliba, considering you already have Gabriel.

    Hi all, not posted for a while. How does this WC draft look?

    In particular, how should I spend a spare 1.2 itb?

    Sanchez (Fab)
    Gab Konate RAN (Maz, Hall)
    Salah Palmer Saka Mbuemo (Winks)
    Isak Cunha Pedro

    Some options/thoughts

    A. Raya (I don't usually go for premium GK and not sure about ars double)
    B. Winks to Semenyo/Rogers (future bench headaches?)
    C. Mbuemo to Bruno (wait and see the new manager first?)

      The options you've mentioned are probably the best if you want to spend the 1.2m. Only other thing I could think of would be upgrade Winks to a slightly better bench option in case of injuries/rotation but doesn't give you a headache (Buonanotte, Damsgaard).

    I do wonder if that second decimal point is necessary, it does imply slightly spurious data insights.

    The numbers may be accurate as a calculation but is the second decimal place a crucial consideration in the equation?
