Back for a new season, with “sailing fan” Granville now woken from his Olympic dream, we return for another podcast after a three-month hiatus.

While some of the regulars are shelved this week, we talk over the Sky Sports Game, welcome new Fantasy Football double act “Fenners & Merse” and start the clear up after Robin Van Persie kicked over the applecart.

The episode is underpinned by a new concept – the idea that Granville and I can join forces and actually be effective. The premise is we pick a ScoutCast XI and cross our beams to co-manage it over the season, arguing the toss in every ScoutCast episode on transfers and substitutions. The aim is harmony and a united success. It seems unlikely to end that way.

Oh, and there are actually two of my “jokes” that Granville misses in this episode – see if you can make out the second. I swear he was dreaming of gold medals in the sailing.

        Tempting as it is I'm having neither Kun or Roonclart. Money and uncertainty of Rooney's role means it's Torres, Tevez and Graham for me, for at least GW1-2

      interesting... A for me, because goalies are only really good for clean sheets (of which De Gea should get more) and Walker will have more attacking threat than Vidic

      To be fair, we only miss the odd week. We're going to try to keep it tight. Probably going to try out Skype again so we can have guests. We have Fenners and Merse lined up.

    Ah yes it's brilliant they've actually gone and done it... ScoutCast XI. We can't say they're not accountable for their picks anymore when they're managing a persistent team. That was one criticism of the Scout Picks last year.

      Krul and Mignolet rotate well on Home and Away fixtures, but poorly on fixture difficulty.
      Dont double up on Sunderland's dodgy defence for now either.

        The rotation isn't that bad - seems to be really bad press, but the defences look at lot stronger that the other options (jussi, green, begovic etc etc).

        Agreed about Cuellar - need to shop him.
