Thoughts on this WC team? Reckon Jackson starts?

    Henderson
    Trent, Gabriel, Munoz
    Salah, Palmer, Sarr, Rogers
    Isak, Watkins, Jackson

    Valdi, Murphy, Castagne, Andersen
    Bank 0.0m

Having to start 3 of Sarr, Rogers, Murphy, Castagne, Andersen, Munoz every week isn’t my cup of tea (haven’t owned any of them). Also just Henderson as starting keeper with another Palace defender Munoz with other poor defenders as the only option isn’t great

Think I would downgrade Watkins due to Duran competition and generally update across your squad and get 3 genuine bench fodder that start every week if needed.

Personally I would rip that team up and start again

Thanks for the feedback! I think TAA, Gabriel and 1 from the other 3 (who have good fixtures) is ok. I am a little concerned with starting 2/3 of Rogers, Sarr & Murphy each week, but they all do have form and fixtures. If it all messes up then Watkins is the cash cow in 2 weeks to improve the squad. Watkins has 2 good fixtures to impress with Duran - I think he’ll do well so happy to take that gamble.

It’s a difficult time to WC with suspensions and fixtures

Would probably want Isak, Wissa & Cunha up top, but Cunha is a ban in waiting.

Murphy over Gordon looks like settling for second best and not sure I would want Sarr long term over the likes of Bruno, Mbeumo or even Bowen as my third ‘semi premium spot’ mid.

Yeah Cunha has been a nightmare for me as a non-owner, and I can’t really bring him in now with the looming ban. I’m also not sure about Murphy, but he and NEW are in form, and for 5.0 he seems worth the extra 0.5 over all the 4.5 fodder.

The 4 GWs where I'd consider benching Munoz are:
      20 - CHE
      24 - mun
      27 - AVL
      29 - new

      The Fulham boys have:
      20 - IPS
      24 - new
      27 - wol
      29 - TOT

Mykolenko could have a DGW along the way and:
      20 - bou
      24 - LEI
      27 - bre
      29 - WHU

I see Watkins as a 2 weeks option. I'd probably do Watkins>Jackson in GW21 and pick an Arsenal forward or Solanke now over Jackson.

Yeah I was also thinking Watkins -> Jackson looks a sensible trade in 2 weeks given Duran’s return and the rumours of a rest for Jackson this week.

That’s a good spot re rotation with Munoz. You reckon this looks better? Bench is very thin, but does enable Diaz as 3rd mid and gets 2 more players in for the upcoming DGW:

        Hendo
        TAA, Gabriel, Munoz
        Salah, Palmer, Diaz, Rogers
        Isak, Watkins, Solanke

        Valdi, Myko, Greaves, Choud
        Bank 0.0m

No idea about the third mid. spot. I haven't committed(have 6m ITB) to one because I don't know which one to pick.
Don't like Diaz with Gakpo around but could work.
Wood also worth a look for that 3rd forward spot. Mateta too.

Would want someone better as my 8th attacker than Choud for sure.

This chap Murphy at Newcastle, is he a bargain at 5.0 or is he just another flash in the pan? I remember he was quite a popular option at the start of the season - so much so that I bought him for Season Goals Scored with my spread bookmaker - but then he basically disappeared off the radar until the last four GWs where he's now operating at 10ppg. Do we think he has a good chance of continuing to punch way above his weight or is he due to go back down for a count of 10? Cheers.

  12. Eze Really?
    • 11 Years
    1 year, 18 days ago

I know total points gained in the GW matters, but I can't help but think, the 4 point clean sheet goes to 5 placeholders and not 1. If you are not doubling/tripling up like Arsenal, the benefits of an extra 4 points are diluted due to this. Hence, when it becomes a toss up on a cleanie like Saliba vs Johnson/Munoz, go for the player who will get you attacking returns. The chances of Johnson for example, of getting an assist which is only an extra 3 points, it is likely to get you rank gains. That does not mean to say you ignore the clean sheets as 5 of them also give the caveat of more players gaining over you. I suppose it is similar to EO. Well done if anyone understands all that.

I don't quite follow, but my view is that rotating cheap defenders that play for teams with clean sheet potential is the way to go. Ones that also have attacking prospects. For example, the likes of Hall, Robinson, Aina, Munoz, Kerkez, and Mykolenko. Get five of these type players and try target the fixtures. It's worked well for me this season so far. No need for premium defenders unless their sides are looking solid as a rock defensively, which nobody is atm.

Jackson and Rogers/Murphy/Enzo price range. Not a fan of Sarr or Eze.

Cheers. I already have Rogers & Murphy and not sure about a triple up in CHE attack with Enzo, Palmer, Jackson. Currently on this lot:

        Henderson
        TAA, Gabriel, Munoz
        Salah, Palmer, Rogers, Sarr
        Isak, Watkins, Jackson

        Valdi, Murphy, Castagne, Andersen

Which two would you prefer to move for this week?

    1. Pickford

    3. Watkins

      1 + 3
Pickford seems to be picking up points nicely and Watkins should have a point to prove and might be worth a punt.

I bought Diaz just in time for his benching against Leicester. Thankfully though he didn't come off the bench - he's a one point merchant when he does - but when he's on the park at kick off time he's mustard.

    Bench Rogers or Mbuemo

Bench Rogers. Brentford home form is good and are scoring lots of goals at home so feels like Mbuemo is the better option based on that.
