Over the last week or so the Fantasy Football Scout fold have been sharing our innermost thoughts with regards to some of the most “Burning Questions” ahead of the new campaign. To accompany our views there, here’s our annual quick-fire round of predictions, where we let you know the players each of us are tipping to shine in a new season…

As our entry from last year will show you we’re prone to making the odd mistake (or seven). Steve Kean, eh? Who would have thought he would still be in a job. Even after he got Blackburn relegated, as half of us rightly predicted.

Here follows our thoughts on the year ahead. Soak it in and then join the discussion and offer your thoughts and counter-comments down below.

Andy, that’s my good self, kicks things off for 2012/13 with what is no doubt a bit of a fancy for one player in particular. And it’s not even Gylfi Sigurdsson. This is almost partisan from our resident all-rounder.

The Premier League

Second out of the traps is Big Dunc. One of two Everton fans on the Scout payroll our resident toffee can’t help but get a little bit excited at the prospects of his club. Is he mad? We’ll find out by May.

Having signed mid-way through last Stilicho gets his first Scout attempt to show everyone just how prophetic he is. His opinions on Norwich pretty much separate this gent from everyone else involved so he’s either a mad heretic or the one we should all be looking to in the future.

Granville gets a weekly platform on the Scoutcast to discuss and debate with Mark on all things Fantasy Football related. In this post he has, perhaps unsurprisingly, decided to pick some answers from the red side of Manchester. What’s more surprising is that we can see some light blue too.

Also having his first dabble at infamy is Jonty. With no Premier League allegiances for this Brighton fan, his picks can come untainted by any frivolous behaviour. He wisely agreed with me about a certain West Brom player.

The Premier League

Anorak may be our resident specialist when it comes to the men in black but he also likes to think he can be a dab hand at Fantasy football too. As far as top goalscorer predictions, he marks himself out as the black sheep of the Scout fraternity by being the only one not to tow the party line.

Having churned out more top quality articles than Anchor have butter, Paul is well versed on all things Premier League and as such we expect him to score 100% when we mark his results in May. Even if one of his answers is Emmerson Boyce, who are we to second guess?

Mark The guv’nor brings up the rear and clearly has a problem with Swansea’s prospects, whilst talking up that Southampton mob. Mark backed Grant Holt last season and, similarly, he’s going with Rickie Lambert to turn up with a similar goal spree. Oh, and he still fancies Leighton Baines. Must be the haircut or the record collection.

Quickly thoughts on DDG vs Rafael. Specially concerned with the game-time for the first few weeks.

Will Lindegaard play a factor? He did sign a 4-year contract, so he must have been assured that he will get a few chances at least.

    Fed (DDG)
    Ivan, Zab, Hang (Demel, Clyne)
    Kag, Bale, Noble, Dyer (Guthrie)
    Torres, Roondog, Tevez

Will probably downgrade Torres to Bent, then Rooney to RVP in the next couple of weeks

at the expense of a powerful forward line, yes, yes I do. if you can get 3 points from your 4th mid, you are doing ok - as long as your other players perform!

yep, I agree, but unfortunately we cant play 3/2/4 which is what I would love to do with all the quality forwards this season! only time will tell I suppose! But I do think Dyer will surprise a few people this year...

Nothing against Dyer I'm just not sure if he'll be the big hitter for Swansea compared to Michu and the likes. Another caveat I have is that Rooney could have his returns reduced with RVP on board now.

right team done - feel free to copy / tear apart as a lot of thought and reading has gone into this!

    GK Fed/Jaas
    DEF Verm/Ivan/Zab/(Raf)/ (Barnett)
    MID VDV/Lamps/Yaya/Pien/(Gutherie)
    FWD Torres/Tev/Graham

So cheap goalies but hopefully save points...Def is perhaps bit heavy but view Verm & Ivan as good double pointer threats. Mid - lamps out GW3 to Man U cover (tbc who). Fwds - fingers crossed Torres turns up!

    Good luck

So I vote we all just bookmark this post and keep it as our secret, for potentially the season or as long as it lasts. We'll always know where to find each other that way. agreed?

By the time we start using the new posts again a whole new FFS community will have sprung up

Do they removed very old posts as the season goes on? I was considering the exact same thing!

I think FFS disable posting on articles after a while?

Agreed. However, I think all the lurkers have just came out of the wood work as its right before the season give it a week or so and it'll go back to normal.

if it dies down to an acceptable level again then I guess we all won't mind going back to the newest post. until then. I think this is a great idea.

KoL, you still in the Puffinboy Memorial Cup? As one of the few people to add their name in the forum I was going to add you to my spreadsheet but I couldn't find you in the league list.

Similar to my team. (See above) but cannot stand Pog tbh. Get Graham and downgrade Hangeland

Did cross my mind as Pog is out of the door after the double for Graham.

Really need to squeeze out an extra .5m for RVP money

I am really tempted to save 3 mil instead of 2 but that really kills the balance of my team. But i do still have a certain Aguero in my team. And he hasn't moved out since day 1. Yes, RVP is tempting me THAT much.

Same issue - I can picture myself at 11.20 next week still trying to find a spare .5m to shoehorn RVP in

based on the manutd.com article? haha 😀

I am probably going to transfer Torres and Rooney our for Bent and RVP next week and just take the hit. RVP will be at 14.0 by the end of the season no doubt!

    DDG / Fed
    Zab / A Cole / Bennett/Gorkss/Demel
    Bale / Yaya / Lamps / Noble / N'Zog
    Tevez / Graham / Torres (+2)

Is keeping the 2m worth it anymore? Or maybe I downgrade A Cole to Rafael to get 3m for RVP?
