I decided against playing AM, slightly regret it now but we'll see.
    Sels
    TAA Gabriel Myko
    Salah Palmer Mbeumo Rogers
    Gakpo Isak Wood
    Fab Hall Greaves Martinelli
    0itb, 3ft
    A) Martinelli to BOU mid
    B) Gakpo to Cunha
    C) Both
    D) Roll

      A. Both gives you a benching headache (of those 8 I'd bench Cunha), but B looks good for next GW.

Almost certainly. GW34 will be a blank for up to 8 teams and those teams are also likely to DGW33 making the transition between those 2 GWs tricky without FH.

It does. I'm thinking WC30 (with plenty of players likely to DGW33 in the squad), then AM Howe GW31 for likely back to back doubles (GW32 &GW33), FH34, then BB GW36 which is also likely to be a DGW. The problems is we are unlikely to know who doubles when before the GW30 deadline (see my post below).

Saving for 34. A few reasons why:
      - Decent chance Newcastle go DGW-DGW-BGW 32-4
      - City very likely to DGW33- BGW34 and they have great fixtures leading up to that
      - Relatively, Newcastle & Liverpool have tougher fixturss leading up to BGW29 so I don't mind losing the likes of Hall, Gakpo, Trent now/soon

WC30 seems to be a popular option on here but there are only 2 days between the FA Cup QF's weekend and the GW30 deadline so we are unlikely to know who doubles in GW33 before then. So are potential GW30 WC users still going to use the chip that GW if we don't know if GW33 is a DGW ?

    1. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years
      9 months, 23 days ago

We'll know who blanks in 34 & I think that's enough for me, even if not announced whether the doubles move to 33 (most likely I think) or 36

    2. Tonyawesome69
      • 6 Years
      9 months, 23 days ago

I think it's possible we will get an announcement with April TV schedule before GW30 subject to certain conditions being met, similar to DGW24+25

    3. Tommy Template
      • 11 Years

I think the other issue with WC30 is you can't really commit to anything until after those FA Cup games are done so you can draft something but then find there's injuries in FA Cup and you've got less than 48 hours to sort your WC. For lots of us those 48 hours are working days so you only really have Monday night. I'm guessing we might be missing presser info too for 30?

At what point does the Palmer sell become correct? If he blanks next 2? But then we’re selling vs LEI (H).

    GW27: Rogers > Nwaneri
    GW28: Harwood-Bellis > Agbadou
    GW29: Gakpo > Cunha
    GW30: Kluivert > Gordon
    GW31: Play AM on Howe

    GW29 team will be:

    Sels
    Timber, Kerkez, Robinson, Agbadou
    Palmer, Mbeumo, Kluivert, Nwaneri
    Cunha, Wood

    (Fabianski, Salah, Isak, TAA)

Not a bad plan, a few things to think about
      1) Playing AM 31 means no BB in 33 and no WC till.at least 34, 35 if you plan to FH34. That is late for the WC to have an impact - only 4 weeks - and might leave you short of double game week players in 33. Maybe WC30? You can then sell Trent for a stronger 11 in 29.
      2) Kluivert plays Ipswich the week you sell him and might double - in your plan I'd sell Mbeumo for Gordon. Maybe you'll be able to afford a longer term solid pick than Nwaneri in 27 - he feels like short term punt territory.
      3) Unless essential I'd roll in 28 and sell Harwood Bellis in 29. Or save a transfer.

Thanks! You made some very interesting points, some of which I already agree with 🙂

Totally open on doing Mbeumo instead of Kluivert > Gordon which will leave me with 6.5 mil for a midfielder instead of Nwaneri. Who should I bring in though?

Punty. If you think they are going to get table bonus in two out of TOT, MUN, cry go for it, but you could easily end up losing 30 points plus to those taking the safer Slot, or Moyes (GW24), or Howe (GW31) routes etc

      1. Tommy Template

Is Howe that safe? He's got two games but if I was going that way I'd be inclined to look at Glasner. I could see Palace beating Newcastle, particularly if Newcastle have a cup final defeat hangover from 29.

Really? Let's say they won 6-0 that's 14 points. Slot got more last week and would easily outscore with 2 wins. Emery repeating Moyes results not inconceivable and would smash it. Iraola could match Arteta for less money.

    Morning All

    Pickford
    Trent, Gab, Huijsen
    Salah, Palmer, Rogers, Kluivert
    Isak, Wood, Wissa
    AM: Slot

(Flekken, Hall, Sarr, Muñoz) 1FT, £1.9m

Planning no-FH29. Then, WC some point after (GW32 at latest).

Thinking to keep Palace players for Ipswich in GW28.

    So:
    a) Rogers > Dango GW26
    b) play Rogers, then > Mbeumo GW27
    c) play Rogers, then > Amad GW27
    d) Rogers > Trossard GW26

Ohhh. I thought you meant something like you tied, but were knocked out for using a chip, when oppo didn't.

Nah, disagree. Players are free to play chips as they wish. You being annoyed about it not going your way, is a you issue 😛

I’m not saying players can’t play chips as they wish. I’m merely stating it’s not a level playing field in H2H games with chips involved

                Not in each round tbf

Of course AM, TC etc massively impacts the cup

It's a chip for league rank primarily

Lol, obviously not in each round. Just like his opponent can't. ie a level playing field.

If a player is bothered about cup games, they should base their chip strategy around that. Can't have it both ways.

You don't play the same opponent in each round, so you could be up against a chip each time in the cup games.

Clearly you'd get eliminated sooner, than later.

Exactly, you get 3 chips and can come up against 10plus in cups. I thought this was self explanatory.

Yeah, the great thing about debate is that we don’t have to agree. I’m fully aware I have the same number of chips as everyone else, that was never really brought into question.

The point is, in weeks where you don’t play one and your opponent does, you are at a disadvantage.

Yeah. Playing a more optimal strategy for a given week, will give you an advantage in that week.
It's a level playing field, as everyone is free to choose when they use chips.
If you choose not to use a chip, and someone else does. That isn't unfair. It's just the choices you both made.

I suppose you can get angry about it. People get angry about all sorts of stuff.

It’s not the same for everyone though. Some can come against 0 opponents with chips while others could have loads. TM’s luck of the draw statement is perfect because that is the case but it’s doesn’t mean it’s a level playing field as you are harping on about.

Arsenal lineup as expected with Trossard up front, Sterling LW and Nwaneri RW.

Good to see Lewis-Skelly continue LB over Calafiori

Arsenal: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly, Partey, Rice, Odegaard, Nwaneri, Sterling, Trossard.

Subs: Neto, Calafiori, Zinchenko, Tierney, Kiwior, White, Jorginho, Merino, Butler-Oyedeji.

Sterling is the weak point at LW. Rice could have a bigger attacking role in the left 8 position. And with set pieces, he might even be an FPL option!

The butler kid is a striker. You put 3 more youth attackers out there you're making the same point with the squad. No point putting in someone that's not ready

Merino has played 10 before and odegaard on the right wing. Tierney has been playing left wing every time he's come on

The point is Arteta knew that Jesus is perennial sicknote, Martinelli and Trossard are streaky at best, and Saka gets ran into the ground every year, but he still spent the summer budget on defensive options and a beyond finished Sterling instead.

I agree with that. Arsenal are one striker short. Spending money on calafiori when the defence was already the best in the league was the big error

but all 4 attackers going out at the same time is extremely unlucky. Any team would struggle in that situation
