Over the last week or so the Fantasy Football Scout fold have been sharing our innermost thoughts with regards to some of the most “Burning Questions” ahead of the new campaign. To accompany our views there, here’s our annual quick-fire round of predictions, where we let you know the players each of us are tipping to shine in a new season…

As our entry from last year will show you we’re prone to making the odd mistake (or seven). Steve Kean, eh? Who would have thought he would still be in a job. Even after he got Blackburn relegated, as half of us rightly predicted.

Here follows our thoughts on the year ahead. Soak it in and then join the discussion and offer your thoughts and counter-comments down below.

Andy, that’s my good self, kicks things off for 2012/13 with what is no doubt a bit of a fancy for one player in particular. And it’s not even Gylfi Sigurdsson. This is almost partisan from our resident all-rounder.

Second out of the traps is Big Dunc. One of two Everton fans on the Scout payroll our resident toffee can’t help but get a little bit excited at the prospects of his club. Is he mad? We’ll find out by May.

Having signed mid-way through last Stilicho gets his first Scout attempt to show everyone just how prophetic he is. His opinions on Norwich pretty much separate this gent from everyone else involved so he’s either a mad heretic or the one we should all be looking to in the future.

Granville gets a weekly platform on the Scoutcast to discuss and debate with Mark on all things Fantasy Football related. In this post he has, perhaps unsurprisingly, decided to pick some answers from the red side of Manchester. What’s more surprising is that we can see some light blue too.

Also having his first dabble at infamy is Jonty. With no Premier League allegiances for this Brighton fan, his picks can come untainted by any frivolous behaviour. He wisely agreed with me about a certain West Brom player.

Anorak may be our resident specialist when it comes to the men in black but he also likes to think he can be a dab hand at Fantasy football too. As far as top goalscorer predictions, he marks himself out as the black sheep of the Scout fraternity by being the only one not to tow the party line.

Mark The guv’nor brings up the rear and clearly has a problem with Swansea’s prospects, whilst talking up that Southampton mob. Mark backed Grant Holt last season and, similarly, he’s going with Rickie Lambert to turn up with a similar goal spree. Oh, and he still fancies Leighton Baines. Must be the haircut or the record collection.

Looks fine at first glance, but isn't there a better pairing than Fed and Mig? I'm pretty sure they rotate awfully.

Zabaleta, Hughes (to rotate with Clyne and Demel), Cazorla and Graham (to rotate with Ireland and Kacaniklic, will have to pick 2)

    OR

Clark (to rotate with Demel), Hughes (to rotate with Clyne) Ramires, and Tevez

Option 1 will leave me without any United cover in gw 2 as I can't take a transfer.
Option 2 will cost a hit, which i don't mind taking to do Aguero and Ramires to Michu and Rooney.

Gotta be option 2 I'm thinking?

I think pretty nailed on, Young is nowhere near as good, we really missed Nani as a goal threat when he didn't play last season. That said he is still liable to rotation and isn't as nailed on as Valencia. I'd rather go with Nani but have gone for Valencia for the extra security and more consistent points.

            Cheers for the response.

It's hard to know. If we play the 4-4-2 system we started last season with, with total roaming and quick passing Carrick probably won't start, Anderson could take his place.

However, the system we played against Liverpool last year in one game, which was 4231 with Carrick and Giggs as the 2, gave Giggs a free role starting from deep which Kagawa could easily get.

I personally think he'll start behind Rooney on monday but that that won't be his long term position.

It does have to be option 2, but I wouldnt want to say goodbye to ZAbaletta. Also is it me or does option 1 have nothing to with united cover or not, neither of them have united players.

Seriously you dont need to beg for responses. Unless your in your england bashing mode.

I still think he'll play. He wasn't bought to be bench fodder. We need someone capable of quickly getting the ball to RvP and Rooney, that is what Kagawa is for. Plus apparently he ain't half bad a free-kicks. Could be interesting if Rooney, RvP, Kagawa and Young are all on together

    De Gea//Green
    Zabaleta//Williams//Fabio//Cuellar//Gunter
    Bale//Lampard//Kagawa//Pienaar//Guthrie
    Aguero//Torres//Graham

Thoughts on this lads? I know the defence isn't great but it allows me to have a nice looking front 8.
I'll probably do Lamps > 6.0 mid and Torres > RVP in GW3.

Aye that's quite good. Not sure you need Green, are you going to play him over De Gea any weeks?
I'm not completely sold on Lampard as an FPL option but that's down to personal gut feeling really, Kagawa's potential has been hampered by RVP's arrival. Would prefer Kaca to Guthrie too, especially as he rotates nicely with Graham.

No i'd never play Green over DDG, but my thinking is that DDG is likely to be rested for easy home games and Green has opposite rotation so should have a home game that week.
I could have VDV and Mata over Bale and Lamps, it's a tough one but the latter looks safer.
Kagawa should still play shoudn't he? Just a bit deeper.

          Kagawa should play alright.
Personally don't think De Gea will be rested for the easy home games, barring a serious loss of form or fitness he should play every week. It doesn't happen with Szczesny, Reina, Hart, Cech etc. so no reason for it to happen with De Gea.
Much prefer Bale to VDV, even more so than I do Mata to Lamps so I'd stick there. Plus Di Matteo said today Mata could be rested.

Defensive issue, I'm going with Zaba and Rafa to play nearly every game. Have Gorkss as a DGW pick and then for 4m bench fodder. For my rotating combo, should I go:

    A) Saylor & Cuellar

    B) Boyce & Fabio

I'm gonna draft Zabs in GW3 I think. Would rather a DGWer for GW1 and not transferring a City defender in for Liverpool away. Then it will be Zabs/Kolarov and Rafa for me. I prefer a overall. I am going 3 way rotation, Hangeland, Fabio and Clyne

I will have Terry for the double, then downgrading to a 5m option (Saylor or Boyce) to give the Rooney fund. I'm asking now because I need to pick the correct 4.5m partner

fair enough, makes some sense. Then I would decide which of the 5 million options you want more and pick the 4.5 that corresponds. Hangeland and Fabio isn't bad and Fabio wil cover off Brede GWs 2 and 6

Okay, I think I finally got it (again).

    G: DDG - Feds

    D: Zabaleta - Ivanovic - Hangeland - Fabio - Clyne

    M: Lampard - Bale - Ramires - Noble - Michu

    F: Aguero - Tevez - Petric

Downgrade Ramires to Pienaar and upgrade Aguero to Rooney for GW 2. Gambling a little bit with investing the money I had saved to upgrade to Rooney but think it'll be worth it. Thoughts? Or should I go back to Torres + Nasri instead of Aguero + Ramires?

Well think this is it. RMT

    Jask - (Ruddy)

    Vertonghen - Ivan - Demel - (Clyne - Barnett )

Michu - Carzola - Ramires - Yaya - (El Ahmadi)

    Rooney - Torres (c) - Tevez

Only doubt is to whether ditch Carzola > Bale, Michu > Taraabt
