Several capable options are in the captaincy conversation for Double Gameweek 33 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

Arsenal and Manchester City lead the way, with favourable ‘doubles’ for both big-ticket sides. Assets from Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Liverpool represent the differential and alternative selection.

As usual, Captain Sensible highlights which assets have the best chance of delivering a big haul.

First, we will assess the fallout of the captain poll before analysing the player and team statisticsRate My Team (RMT) and the Premier Fantasy Tools ratings ahead of Saturday’s 11:00 BST deadline.

THE CAPTAIN POLL

Captain Gameweek 33

Omar Marmoush (£7.6m) has deputised as Man City’s leading marksman with aplomb in the absence of a certain injury-stricken Norwegian.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt speedster arrived from the Bundesliga with a burgeoning reputation – but inward transfers from Germany often suffer from a level of performance tax.

Four attacking returns in as many starts for the Egyptian signifies a forward in red-hot form. Marmoush rammed home the equaliser in Man City’s eventual 5-2 comeback thrashing of Crystal Palace.

He’s backed by around 39% of our voters.

Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka (£10.5m) put aside concerns about his domestic gametime with a heroic display in a famous 2-1 win for Arsenal over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Arsenal’s ‘starboy’ exorcised the demons of a first-half missed penalty by dinking the Gunners in front after the break.

From a captaincy perspective, it was a confidence-boosting performance. Since his return to the Premier League fray in early April, Saka has been restricted to three successive cameos for Arteta’s side.

However, concerns about his expected minutes have been momentarily forgotten, with Arsenal’s best player backed by over 28% of our voters.

Kevin De Bruyne (£9.3m) is in third place with 8.9% of the vote, closely followed by ‘single Gameweeker’ Mohamed Salah (£13.8m).

What's the situation with Savinho? Is he unfit or not favoured? Got him in on a WC in 31 for this double but his lack of minutes worries me. Do i move him?

Probably Tactical imo - a mix of no proper CF (don't need wingers) and 3/5ATB setup

Sounded like he was in line to start against Palace but was a late withdrawal
Think he's a keep for the double (unless there is a leak pre kick off) and then get rid

Don't know really. Was said he was due to start last match but was a fitness doubt.

I'm sure he'll get mins or even a start during the DGW but it's more awkward now that back in GW30/31, what with Bobb back & Foden returning to fitness.

But I've moved him on. Got 9 points in GW30. Didn't return the next 2 weeks when I benched him (phew!).

Gone KDB for his final run at City. More of a goal & assist threat anyway. Harder for others to get, as well as Saka.

Could go wrong. Holding Savinho might be the slightly more optimal play.

I've moved him on after getting on WC like you. I could have moved Murphy instead but he's in the form of his life and I can't see Sav starting both games in double and might actually get only a few minutes.

    Current BB33 squad:

    Raya
    Munoz N.Williams Gvardiol
    Salah Saka(c) Sarr Murphy
    Isak Marmoush(vc) Mateta

    Flekken Bowen Livra Agbadou

    0.3m itb and 2ft

AM chip has been played, all others available.
Plan to use FH34 and TC some other time...

Is this too much for -4?

    Flek, NWilliams, Agbadou > OUT
    Areola, Bradley, Mazra > IN

    Thoughts?

No. TAA will be back shortly and you probably want N Williams for 35-38.
How about Flek and Agba to Areola and Kiwior?

        Yep, good point.
I have looked at Kiwior but hoped Bradley would have more goal threat. The Flekken to Areola move is only to gain some cash, obviously.

So CS in the first fixture to match Bradley then at least app point(s) in the 2nd fixture to outscore him

I'd lean towards the doubler, as the floor is better - and that's important with defenders.

If one is getting a haul, more likely to be Bradley. CS gone and it's mostly all over though. Unlikely to play 90 too.

I've got both but got Bradley last week. Don't imagine I'll play Bradley much after this GW if at all!

Certainly this week judging by Slot's comments. I'm with Hazz, had him for his 9 last week, keeping on BB v Leics then probably bench as a standby.

Slot has already ruled out Trent starting. He's only a 'maybe' for the bench too. Beyond this week, of course a risk, but they're not asking about that.

Best option from the below with 3FT? Will be using FH in GW34. No longer have BB. Would like to save as many transfers for GW36/37 as possible so unsure if it's worth saving that third FT for future gameweeks?

    Raya
    Gvardiol - Munoz - Livra
    Salah - Eze - Sarr - Murphy
    Isak - Marmoush - Evanilson

GK - Kerkez - Foden -Gabriel

    A) Gabriel, Murphy & Foden > Kiwior, Saka & KDB

      Watkins over JPM.
I'd probably go Eze over Bowen too despite the last to palace results

You reckon Munoz'll get 2 starts or just rolling the dice? I'm leaning towards Bradley for the fixture. But if you're not using 2 Arsenal slots in midfield, I'd go for Kiwior and swap out Raya for Martinez.

Also concerned about Mateta given his minutes recently, a short turnaround and Nketiah being up against his old club. Not many options there, but I'm currently on Wissa, with Watkins possibly my next choice. But Mateta I don't feel that strongly against Mateta either.

    BB33, 3FTs, 2.0itb

    Raya / Martinez
    Saliba / Gvardiol / Munoz / Livra / Neco
    Salah / Savio / Saka / Murphy / Sarr
    Isak / Marm / JPM

Just Murphy + Livra to Rogers + Konate and roll the 3rd FT. Anything else to consider?

Alright I have a pretty fascinating idea which I hadn't fully explored.

    BB33 but NO FH34.

    Raya Areola
    Gabriel* Gvardiol Munoz Williams Livramento
    Salah Saka Savinho Sarr Murphy
    Isak Marmoush Mateta

    What I'd do is this...
This week: I'd do Gabriel > Ait Nouri and BB. It would be a bit underwhelming of like Areola, Williams, Ait-Nouri, Murphy with Livramento in the starting XI but I don't really think it's pulling up trees no matter what I do.

Next week, I'd have 3 FTs and could field XI with a hit:
    Areola
    Williams Livramento Ait-Nouri MILENKOVIC
    Salah Murphy MBEUMO BRUNO
    Isak CUNHA
    (Raya Saka Gvardiol Marmoush)

I'd then have FH36 open. Wouldn't be stuck holding Palace assets for the run-in, have some differential assets. Then in GW36, when people have to be mindful of blank 37, I can FH a team of XI doublers while most others are stuck with 6 at most because otherwise they're stuck in GW37.

The risk of this strat is that it heavily depends on GW36 being a DGW for both FA Cup finalists. If it works though, it's brilliant and helps differentiate you a lot for the run-in while maintaining an edge. Basically, you're betting on Palace and Villa being severely overrated because of doubles and trusting Newcastle, Forest and the schedulers to setup some a strong double in GW36 you can take advantage of.

Too much of a DGW36 gamble for me and compromise on the BB

The BB compromise is almost nothing imo. It's the gamble on DGW36.

BB is seriously overrated chip, look at the horror shows in 32

I think this has a lot of merit, I am also thinking of saving fh for later. Your 34 team looks good as well

Yeah I'm actually leaning towards doing it. I genuinely think the strength of my GW36 and 37 makes it worth doing.

Thoughts on Trossard for the DGW instead of Saka?

      Really thinking about it yeah.
Definitely can see him starting nr 9 vs Ips.

Only caveat is, I think home game vs Cry will be where the goals are and Im guessing then a full strenght Ars.

It's possible. Palace have an FA Cup semi-final 3 days after the Arsenal match. They'll have to keep on eye on that.

    Raya
    Munoz Livarmento Gvardiol
    Sarr Murphy Salah Palmer
    Marmoush Isak Mateta

    Bench: Martinez Gabriel Dorgu Savinho
    4 ft 0.2itb

Will be bench boosting. Thinking of the below transfers

    Palmer> KDB
    Gabriel> Kiwor
    Murphy> Rogers

That will leave me with 2.3 itb but need to get rid of savinho. Also considering Livarmento to Bradley. Is it worth it? Any suggestions?

No Saka is brave but can understand it if chasing. Rashford for a punt for Savio?
