Chelsea: world champions.

Not many people thought that was a likelihood when the FIFA Club World Cup started. Even after the group stage, the bookies estimated that the Blues only had a 16.8% chance of reaching the final, let alone winning the whole thing.

So, with a second trophy under Enzo Maresca’s belt, what should we expect from the west Londoners in the season ahead?

In this article, we thought we’d put together a few takeaways ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

First, though, a round-up of the minutes played, goals scored and assists registered.

    Note for Reece: neither of the side panels is opening reliably on mobile (Android 14 Chrome browser). Sometimes they open, other times the buttons are unresponsive
    
    Testing further, this might be hydration-related, as the buttons always work after waiting for some seconds

I like the touch of the player picks in the team box, though they're a bit too small to make out properly. I think its going to look a bit odd when they are interspersed with new signings either in their previous kits or worse as 'nudist' gravs.
