With the first international break of the 2025/26 season finally behind us, it’s time to finalise our Scout Picks.

We considered the Scout Squad submissions made by Neale (Editor), Tom (Deputy Editor), Sam (General Manager) and Marc (Staff Writer) before coming up with our final team.

As ever, there are certain restrictions for our picks:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 4 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

3m team news:

Due to the lack of convincing £4.5m goalkeepers on offer in Gameweek 4, we’ve opted for Nick Pope (£5.0m) as Newcastle United prepare to host Wolverhampton Wanderers. Pope has already picked up 18 points this season, aided by two clean sheets in three matches. During this period, Newcastle have conceded only 1.58 expected goals (xG), which is the lowest tally in the league. As for Wolves, Vitor Pereira’s men are the only top-flight team yet to pick up a point this season. They will also be without Jorgen Strand Larsen (£6.4m) for the trip to St James’ Park.

    Having the funds would you sell Konsa for Munoz? Villa has looked dreadful yes, but I can't help but think they'll turn it around the next few games, where their fixtures also look great.
    Have also considered Watkins to Mateta, but will probably hold for the same reason. What's your thinking of Villa v. Palace the next 5 or so gameweeks?

      Difficult call. Villa's fixtures for the next handfull of games are great. I would be tempted to do Konsa to Munoz anyways.

        Why? Is he guaranteed to start? My thought is the fixture coming up are good and don't mind benching him if it looks like he'll come off the bench.

        When you have options like King, Senesi, and even KDH as options it's not as easy as to say that someone who could or could not start and would likely come off the bench is a better option.

        Fair enough, don’t feel too guilty using it now so! Now for an actual team. Wouldn’t mind a Haaland and Salah team but don’t want to get rid of JP or Mateta now either.

        Probably want Gakpo for these couple of weeks too, maybe switch towards Isak after a while then, even lose Salah maybe. Decisions, decisions…

      He's decent for the money.

      If you want less exciting and more reliable, then look at Caicedo.

      5.5 mill so cheaper than Reijnders now. Average of 14 DC per game this season so far (2 out of 3 games got the 2 pts). 455 DC in 38 games last season which is 12 average. I think that may be the highest DC of anyone last year (or at least I couldn't find anyone higher).

      5, 8 and 4 this season so far and will likely get that 2 DC almost every game. That's 4 minimum.

      Lower ceiling that a goalscorer though, but highly reliable.
