It’s a busier-than-usual Thursday on the press conference front as we’re expecting seven Premier League managers to supply us with their Gameweek 7 team news.

The Friday deadline is part of the reason for this, with Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva – whose sides contest the Gameweek 7 curtain-raiser – speaking a day earlier than normal.

As ever, we’ll be bringing you the latest key quotes and injury updates in the ‘live’ article below.

The managers of the other 13 Premier League clubs will (hopefully) fulfil their media commitments on Friday.

For the latest injury news from those clubs, check out our early team news round-up.

KEY GAMEWEEK 7 INJURY UPDATES FROM THURSDAY

THURSDAY’S PRESS CONFERENCE TIMES

FULHAM

Rodrigo Muniz (muscle) and Kenny Tete (knee) both joined the injury list ahead of the defeat to Aston Villa last weekend and will remain on it until after the October international break.

“Right now, I can assure that Rodrigo is going to be out and Kenny Tete is going to be out, too. More than just this game, I believe, even after the international break, it’s going to be difficult for them to be ready for the next ones.

“Big miss for us, a big blow for us in terms of two important players, but it’s what it is.” – Marco Silva

Raul Jimenez, who suffered a blow to the hip and hobbled off early in Gameweek 6, will be assessed.

“About Raul, we have to wait, we are going to have a session and after, we have to take a decision to assess him today again and see if he’s going to be in condition.” – Marco Silva

The Cottagers do have a third forward on the books, Jonah Kusi-Asare, but Marco Silva thinks it’s too early for him.

“I know that we signed a young lad, Jonah, but as I mentioned the last few weeks to you, he needs time to adapt. He is very, very, very young and he’s going to need more time, in my opinion.” – Marco Silva

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION

Joel Veltman (calf) has joined Jack Hinshelwood (ankle), Adam Webster (knee) and Solly March (knee) on the injury list going into Gameweek 7.

“I think it will stay the same. The only player [aside from the longer-term absentees] who will be out is Joel. So, he had a small issue in the game against Chelsea, so he won’t be available, but he will be back after the international break.” – Fabian Hurzeler

There is, however, a bit of doubt around Kaoru Mitoma (knock).

The winger has been left out of the Japan squad for the forthcoming internationals, although it’s worth pointing out that the Samurai Blue are contesting relatively meaningless Kirin Cup matches rather than World Cup qualifiers.

In quotes given to the Argus, Fabian Hurzeler acknowledged that Mitoma had an issue but added that he played through it against Chelsea last weekend before coming off midway through the second half.

“We have to see day by day if he is available or not. He received a knock, that is true, but he was able to play against Chelsea, so let’s see.” – Fabian Hurzeler on Kaoru Mitoma, via the Argus

Away from injuries, Danny Welbeck bagged a brace off the bench in Gameweek 6 and will be pushing for a start.

“He’s always in my thinking [for the starting XI]. He’s a great player, great goalscorer. Of course, we have to sometimes make tough decisions. Also, make decisions really regarding the next opponent, what do we need, how we want to play, how is our set-up. So, there are several reasons or several factors we have to go through to make that decision but he’s always a factor in my head and he will be always a key [player] for us.” – Fabian Hurzeler on Danny Welbeck

Yankuba Minteh is also coming in for some praise from inside and outside the club – but Hurzeler urged him to “stay grounded”.

“Doing the easy things right. Trying to focus on the technical execution, trying to understand when I can go in a one-against-one situation, when I attract a lot of opponents, when I have to see the free teammate. So, I think he gets a more and more better understanding of how he can implement his danger into our game.

“And on top of that, I think it’s the consistency. Consistency in how he trains, consistency in how he takes care of his body and how he behaves. And these are the main factors why he’s at the moment in such a good shape.

“Now, it’s about staying really grounded and humble, keep working, because we know that it can also go quite quickly in the other direction.” – Fabian Hurzeler on what has changed with Yankuba Minteh this season

BOURNEMOUTH

Adam Smith (hamstring) and Enes Unal (knee) are still on the sidelines for the Cherries.

Head coach Andoni Iraola is hoping to have Lewis Cook (shoulder) available, however.

“I think Enes and Adam, those were the ones that we knew that were going to be out. I hope also to recover Lewis Cook. He has been training better this week and I hope to have him back tomorrow.” – Andoni Iraola

WEST HAM UNITED

It sounds like Aaron Wan-Bissaka (stomach), who was missing for Graham Potter’s final two matches in charge and Nuno Espirito Santo’s first, is fit again.

Jean-Clair Todibo, who sat out the draw at Everton, has also trained.

So, George Earthy (hamstring) is the only injury-related absentee.

“Today we worked with 22 boys. Tomorrow is the day that we make decisions. Todibo, last week, he didn’t train all the sessions; he was not involved. Now he’s involved. Let’s wait and see.

“[Wan-Bissaka], the same, the same. Thank God this week has been good, they are recovering. And today, like I said, with the exception of George [Earthy], who unfortunately had an issue last week, all the players are available.

“Four to six weeks [for Earthy], unfortunately.” – Nuno Espirito Santo

Tomas Soucek serves the final game of a three-match ban following his sending off in Gameweek 4.

Asked about what James Ward-Prowse has to do to get back into the squad, Nuno played a typically straight bat.

“We are trying to know the players as soon as possible as better as we can, so we can make the proper solutions and decisions. James was not involved [last time]. Let’s see [this time], we still have one more training session. But it’s always the same mindset that we have: it’s what the team needs, what we want and it’s going to be a long, long season. It’s too soon for us to say what we really expect. We need all the squad to be available and healthy.” – Nuno Espirito Santo on James Ward-Prowse

It sounds like Max Kilman, who Nuno knows from his Wolves days, is going to be a key player.

“I think he’s an important member of the squad. Proper member of the squad. I think it can help in terms of relationship [that] he knows how we approach things, our work ethic in the training sessions, how we face the competition, how serious we are – and Max has been very helpful.” – Nuno Espirito Santo on Max Kilman

BRENTFORD

Reiss Nelson (illness) and Fabio Carvalho (knee) are set to return this weekend, having missed out in Gameweek 6.

Longer-term absentees Gustavo Nunes (hamstring) and Paris Maghoma (hamstring) are both back on the grass and closing in on returns.

Brentford say Nunes “may be available to add to the matchday squad, or to feature for Brentford B in upcoming matches” after returning to first-team training this week.

Maghoma is still building his fitness and will train with the B team this week.

LEEDS UNITED

Daniel James has joined the injury list, with an ankle problem ruling him out for at least four weeks.

“Daniel James will be out for a few weeks. He sadly has rolled his ankle in training, so the doctor says he will likely be out for four to six weeks. That means realistically, we will just expect him back after the November international break. If he is available before then, perhaps for one or two games, it will be a nice little bonus and a surprise.” – Daniel Farke on Daniel James

Wilfried Gnonto (calf) isn’t ready to return, either.

And while Lucas Perri (muscle) is back in training, he won’t be considered until after the October international break.

Harry Gray is a doubt with a hip problem, meanwhile.

“Willy Gnonto will also miss this game, his calf problems are not sorted. He isl not back in team training and for that, there is no chance to involve him for this game. He will also sadly just be back after this upcoming international break.

“A few question marks behind Harry Gray because he has reported in training after he played the game on Monday some problems with his hip flexor. I am not sure, at the moment, if he will make it.

“Some good news is that Lucas Perri is back in team training since yesterday. That’s definitely good news. It’s too early to involve him for this game but I think also the international break will be beneficial, we have two more weeks of training and I expect on the other side of the international break to also be available.” – Daniel Farke

SUNDERLAND

Regis Le Bris confirmed on Thursday that Nordi Mukiele is fine, despite social media rumours suggesting he was injured.

“No, he’s okay!” – Regis Le Bris when asked if Nordi Mukiele was injured

Le Bris didn’t reveal any new concerns.

Reinildo Mandava serves game two of a three-match ban after being sent off for violent conduct in the draw with Aston Villa.

Romaine Mundle (hamstring), Dennis Cirkin (wrist), Aji Alese (shoulder), Leo Hjelde (Achilles) and Habib Diarra (groin) remain out.

He's started every game this season including with Spain leading up to the benching last weekend. He was due a rest imo.

Priced out of Reijnders to Sarr and Pedro to Gyokeres leaves me just to do Salah to Saka?

Ndiaye to Sarr an option but leaves me without Arsenal attack.

Damn I thought WC6 would set me up well!

I’m 60/40 on keeping Salah myself. I just think I fancy MUN/bre as better attacking fixtures than ful/CRY.

I also don’t know if Saka plays anywhere near 90 in either. This week worries me, though. But Chelsea aren’t great either so Salah could go wild.

Yeah. It’s blind faith in Salah though, he’s not exactly playing that well.

Thanks for your advice yesterday, down to the final selection now and I would greatly appreciate your advice one again!

    I have 2ft and 0itb

    a) Sanchez and Porro to Pope and Richards (no arsenal this week, but allows me to get Saka for Fernandes GW8)
    b) Salah and Agbadou to Saka and Gabriel

Ideally I did want to keep Salah for Utd home, but I know I need to get Arsenal in this week. Thanks for your help!!

I will be doing Wood > Woltemade/Mateta/Bowen. Not decided which one yet.

I am keeping Joao Pedro though, don’t think it will be long before he starts scoring again, not in Brazil squad so he will be well rested and if Chelsea can stop the red cards we should see a return to form.

I'd play Rodon... Spurs are such a weird team... they will either batter Leeds (DefCon points for Rodon) or disappoint (clean sheet).

I'm a happy Calafiori owner... he seems quite clearly ahead of Lewis-Skelly and nearly had an assist yesterday on a wicked cross from deep. But he is a bit riskier than Saliba.
