Set pieces are coming under much focus this season, with over 35% of all Premier League goals scored stemming from corners, free-kicks or penalties.

That’s an increase of not far off 10% on 2024/25.

With dead-ball situations more important than ever, and with the October international break offering some respite, it’s time to once again shine a spotlight on those players with set-play responsibility.

Here, we summarise the takers of penalties and set-pieces in Gameweeks 4-7 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) 2025/26.

This is based on the official Opta data in our Members Area.

Our Set-Piece Takers tab has been updated in the process.

In the FPL Stats era I'd look at anything over 80% as a definite if it was a move I _had_ to make. Different algorithms at work now and of course the blackbox factor, wildcards, etc...

    Bench boost A or B ?

A/ Dubravka (LEE) Larsen (sun) VDV (VILLA) Andersen (ARS)

B/ Dubravka (wol) Larsen (BUR) VDV (eve) Andersen (new)

      B. Larsen has a lot higher chance to score home Burnley than away Sunderland. Andersen has a better cs chance in option B as well. VDV is sort of 50/50 and while Dubravka has a better fixture in A, I would go for B all over.

Honestly have no idea what to do. 4ft and 0.7itb. Kind of like the idea of selling Bruno for Enzo

    Raya
    Gabriel Senesi Rodon
    Bruno Semenyo Reijnders Stach
    Haaland Gyökeres Pedro

    Dubravka; Ndiaye, Tarkowski, Andersen

In these days of set piece goals, I might actually pop him in to my wildcard midfield to accompany Semenyo, Sarr, Kudus and Enzo (if fit). Caciedo on standby.

Definitely not. Salah's returns from the moment he signed his new contract have been dire while Saka's scored 3 goals in his last 18 PL games. That makes them both too expensive. Here's my current WC team...

          Pope, Dubravka

          Gabriel, Timber, Guehi, Chalobah, Sensei

Rice 😀 , Kudus, Enzo, Semenyo, Sarr

          Bowen, Woltemade, Harland

Plenty of money on the bench but who needs 100m this season anyway?

Of course, but if you're like me and wouldn't consider having any of the top ten priced midfielders in your team not any of the top six priced forwards (except Haaland), money on the bench doesn't matter

I guess there's about a dozen midfielders and about half a dozen forwards who wouldn't look out of place in any wildcard team. It's just a matter of who tickles your fancy.

Based on transfers in this week these are the most popular moves among players that aren't currently flagged, plus a popular cheap goalkeeper & defender:

      Pope Dúbravka
      Timber Gabriel Senesi Guéhi Alderete
      Semenyo Caicedo Kudus Saka Sarr
      Haaland Woltemade Bowen

    How’s it looking folks?
Have had a terrible season thus far

    Petrovic
    Gabriel Timber Burn
    Semenyo Sarr Reindeers Eze
    Isak Haaaland Woltemade

    Dub Senesi Xhaka Rodon

Yes to Isak !! Lots put off by rotation and game time tho - don’t see any reason for Saka just yet but would have Arsenal cover especially now there a bit more limited with Odegod out there’s a budget Arsenal midfielder you should have

Consider chelsea def and mid...got some easy fixtures coming up.
Like the double Bou, Newcastle and man city plus double arsenal defence.
Could do gordon over Eze and JP for woltemade if concerned about eze's game time;-)
If yiu keep eze then Caicedo or Enzo for Sarr.

Five mid range midfielders - three top range strikers and a defence with one maybe two premium defenders in and the rest sorts itself out with best form budget buys including keepers - simple format

Maybe and hopefully a case of Chelsea wanting him back because Argentina play a pointless friendly tomorrow and not worth risking - he’s played on all Chelsea games during World Club Cup and seasons PL

    A) Bowen
    B) Keep Pedro

Aahh man.. Pedro was a rank killer when I didn't own him, but was terrible since I owned him on WC. If Enzo is fit I would go for Bowen (Or Woltemade) and 'cover' Chelsea with Enzo if he is fit

Pedro's not in the top 50 players for shots on target inside the box; that's not a statistic you want necessarily want from one of your forwards, He's now the player we all thought he would be when he moved from Brighton i.e No Penalties, No Pedro.

Is it a crazy thought to do this in GW8 and GW9 to BB9? Bruno, Gyokeres & Stach --> Enzo, Woltemade & Rice. Rice can be a different Arsenal mid or forward, but I like him.

    My midfield 5

    Semenyo Mbeumo Kudus Ndiaye Paqueta

Which two would you sell to get Enzo and Sarr?

    Sarr will be GW10 onwards.

If there's anything I learnt last year, almost never taken a -4. Only if by not doing it you are certain to get 0 points. In which case, only really a 2 point hit at worst as they get their 90 mins.

To put in context - it won't be the only time you take a hit. Over the season you might spend 40 points in hits. 40 points is huge, say you were aiming to win the whole thing .. there's no way you can give up 40 points. The margins are too right at the top.

Isak failing to score in 180 mins does me a favour as can come down to a Wolt and put a bit more money into midfield.

Any idea on how Wissa is doing or do we need to wait for the presser?

It's unnecessary in article format, can just be displayed on an updated stats page.

What I'm getting at is there's nothing left to write so they're just regurgitating this article

Its handy for other games like draft, helps.

Much better than the never ending WC drafts every single GW...

The stats page is clunky and this is a much better way of reporting the set piece stats.

    Pope
    Gabriel Timber Senesi
    Enzo Saka Semenyo Sarr
    Haaland João Pedro Bowen

    Dúbravka Rodon Andersen Dewsbury-Hall

I need to save 0.6 but don’t want to change starting 11. Who should I get? Options?

Change Bowen. Look at his points history as a midfielder. Will be getting less now he's a striker. You can get those same points for much less money from a defender this season. Or many other mid / fwd options
