Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion failed to break the deadlock in a goalless draw on Sunday, with an injury to Marc Guehi (£5.1m) among the main Fantasy talking points.

Here are our Scout Notes from Selhurst Park.

GUEHI INJURY LATEST

Marc Guehi missed out for Palace on Sunday due to an injury sustained in Thursday’s win over AZ Alkmaar.

In his post-match presser, Oliver Glasner did at least express optimism that the 25-year-old will be fit for Gameweek 12.

“Overnight he couldn’t sleep, it was so painful and the next day we assessed him and it was a heavy bone bruise. He was walking on crutches the last two days and couldn’t even step on his foot. Fortunately, nothing is broken, but at the moment he can’t even walk.

“It looks like he will miss the England games, but after, maybe in 10-14 days hopefully he can return to training and be available again.” – Oliver Glasner on Marc Guehi

Guehi has since withdrawn from Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

ANOTHER PALACE CLEAN SHEET

With Guehi absent, Jaydee Canvot (£4.5m) started on the left side of the back three and impressed, instantly forming a solid partnership with Chris Richards (£4.5m) and Maxence Lacroix (£5.0m).

The highly-rated youngster went on to bank defensive contribution (DefCon) points, topping the Palace team for clearances (eight). He also claimed a share of the bonus.

“Jaydee replaced Marc one to one in this position and I think he had a very good game.

“The whole team really defended well today. It was a very intense game, many duels. Brighton have a lot of pace in their attack and we did so well defensively.” – Oliver Glasner

Elsewhere, Tyrick Mitchell (£5.0m) enjoyed a fine afternoon, successfully nullifying Yankuba Minteh’s (£6.0m) threat.

He, together with Canvot and Richards, also claimed DefCon.

Palace have now kept a clean sheet in five of their 11 Premier League matches, which is tied for the third-most of any team.

Additionally, Brighton have recorded back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since February.

SARR + MATETA BLANK

It was a tight affair in the end, with Brighton having more of the ball (57.6%) but Palace creating the better chances.

During a frantic start, Palace’s ruthless counter-attacks led to opportunities for Ismaila Sarr (£6.7m) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (£8.0m), who was the most transferred-in player of the Gameweek.

Sarr looked particularly dangerous, forcing Brighton’s ‘keeper Bart Verbruggen (£4.4m) into a fine early save.

As for Mateta, he recorded only a single shot, an angled attempt that soared over the crossbar.

Daichi Kamada (£5.0m), who started over Yeremy Pino (£5.8m), also struck the side-netting from a tight angle.

WELBECK QUIET

Brighton, meanwhile, found it tough against the Palace defence.

Fabian Hurzeler stuck with the same XI that started Brighton’s 3-0 win over Leeds last weekend, so there was no Kaoru Mitoma (£6.2m) in the matchday squad.

Instead, Diego Gomez (£4.9m) continued on the left and was undoubtedly Brighton’s brightest spark, forcing Dean Henderson (£5.0m) into a fine save. He also created four chances for his teammates, double that of any other player at Selhurst Park.

Elsewhere, Georginio Rutter (£5.7m) did well between the lines and won a second-half penalty, which was later overturned for a dive, while Danny Welbeck’s (£6.5m) scoring run ended abruptly, in a match in which he failed to muster a single shot.

A final word on Ferdi Kadioglu (£4.4m); he’s now started seven matches in a row for Brighton and popped up in some lovely positions on Sunday, often inverting into midfield.

He also took three of the Seagulls’ eight corners and could be an interesting pick given Brighton’s fixture list:

      Rough:
31 points, dropped 300k places and out of the top million.
Munoz (6) and captain Haaland (4*2) were the only players in my eleven to score more than 3.
My bench scored 20 (Dubravka 2, Lacroix 6, Waltemade 5 and Joao Pedro 7).

      Smooth:
      Nothing.

Rough: second red arrow of the season but
Smooth: I only dropped 25k for the GW so I'll take it, onwards and upwards!

Rough, fell from 606K to 689K, still happy with team and season...
Tied my mini league rival, for a push for the week
40 points including 3 auto sub Guehi > Minteh
Haaland miss and Semenyo miss hurt numbers, but most everyone got hurt
Saka's haul was nice, but double ARS defense kicked me in the shins

Rough: 47 points, penalty misses from Semenyo and Haaland like most.

Smooth: Only thing to go partly right was Saka, wish I’d captained.
A second green arrow, I should be pleased, but I’m not, impatient haha!

47 points with a green arrow is not a rough.

Smooth: tiny green and everybody else suffered

46 points in a low-scoring Gameweek when you still got a green arrow is not a rough.
It may not feel very smooth, but it's not a rough.

fair enough! it was "rough" in my view because that was my worst week so far

But did it only feel like your worst week because it was a lowish score (in a week when most teams' scores were even lower)?

After a rough last two weeks and dropping about 500k clawed back about 250k with a 51 this week. Made no moves and nothing particularly smooth but12 from Saka and 8 from Richards and last weeks pickup of Mbuemo came good this week. Don't consider the two missed penalties rough because everyone has Haaland and Semenyo. That's it.

      Rough:
      - Benched Richards over Senesi/Diouf
      - 2x penalty misses (like everyone)
      - Sarr can't hirna barn door in the league

      Smooth:
      - Already had Saka (12)
      - Transferred in Mbeumo & Thiago

Aside from a decent green arrow, don't have to make any unnecessary early transfers on the likes of Mbeumo & Thiago given they're in place already.

      28 points. Rough again!

Rough: 39 points for yet another red arrow (the 4th in 5 weeks), despite what looks objectively to be a decent team. Guehi no-show and transferred in Sarr ahead of Mbuemo on a coin flip, due mainly to the price difference.
Smooth: Nothing really, because the players who picked up points are widely owned. At least I only benched 5 points this week after 18, 30 & 18 in the last 3. Not enjoying this season so far.

      Rough: mateta captain = 4pts
      Bench Boost = 5 pts!!

Smooth: 48pts and (unbelievably) a green arrow

Smooth - 61 points on BB. Got 14 from the bench thanks to Anderson's last min pen. OR 1m > 500k.
Rough - brought in diouf instead of keane to save 0.2m. 14 points lost.

Smooth: Knowing Sunderland would score, I sold one Arsenal defender and benched the other.

Rough: Their two replacements in my line up got one and two points a piece!

      Im claiming that moral victory

Rough: Grim 39 points, due to Haaland(c) pen miss and Senenyo pen miss. I estimate 27 points lost there. Same for many others though I guess.

Smooth: KDH, Cucerella & Pedro my only returns apart from Haaland.

Dropped 54k to 793k so could have been worse.

    Well…..what to do here gents?

    Raya
    Munoz - Chalobah - Gabriel
    Ndiaye - Saka - Semenyo - Enzo
    Woltemade - Haaland - Mateta
    ______________________________
    Dubravka: Senesi: Gudmundsson: Stach

    2FT’s, 0.2 ITB

Woltemade > Thiago is almost certainly happening, which will leave 1.2n ITB…….

    A) Stach > 6.1m and under, like Amad/Caicedo/Minteh/Dango/Xhaka/Gravenberch

    B) Ndiaye > 7.7 and under, like the above, or maybe Sarr/Szbos/Gakpo/Doku?

    C) Or even Raya + Ndiaye > Petrovic + Mbeumo, I do not mind hits at all.

A lot of text! Apologies…….Just feel a little stuck really, even though I should be feeling ok about the overall squad.

    Any insights most appreciated folks!

    1 ft and Wildcard left

    Pope
    Gabriel Munoz Senesi
    Gapko Semenyo Bruno Mbuemo
    Haaland Mateta Thiago

    Dubravka Rodon Xhaka Esteve

Obvious transfer would be Bruno to Saka but I am 0.1 short for that.

So should I wildcard and take Gapko, Semenyo, Bruno, Pope, and other bench players out or just save ft

Free hit in GW13 looks great. Anyone else planning to use it this week?

Messed up with my BB chip. Still holding it, maybe in GW16 I'll be able to improve my bench a bit to use
