Another day of pre-match press conferences and some more bombshell Fantasy Premier League (FPL) team news.

Oliver Glasner, Sean Dyche and Unai Emery all faced the media on Wednesday ahead of their respective sides’ European fixtures tomorrow.

Here are the key updates.

CRYSTAL PALACE

The man who never gets injured is injured: the swollen knee that ruled Daniel Munoz out of Gameweek 15 now requires surgery.

Barring a much-quicker-than-expected recovery, we won’t see him again in 2025.

“Dani Munoz has to undergo surgery, knee surgery. We will miss him for a few weeks.

“The prognosis is 4-6 weeks, that he should be ready to play. Always when you have to undergo a surgery, then you never know. I had a few in my career. That’s why we are always a little bit cautious. It doesn’t look so serious.” – Oliver Glasner on Daniel Munoz

In other Palace team news, Jean-Philippe Mateta (knee) won’t feature against Shelbourne on Thursday. He should return in Gameweek 16, however.

“JP also needs to rest. He came back with a minor injury from the French national team. We had to manage his knee the whole time. There’s always a little bit of swelling and he just didn’t feel well, so he stayed at home.

“No, we don’t [think that Mateta will be out longer] but then I also hoped that Dani [Munoz] just misses a couple of days. So, the plan is that JP returns to training on Friday and then he should be available.” – Oliver Glasner on Jean-Philippe Mateta

Jaydee Canvot misses out in midweek due to illness, too.

Ismaila Sarr (ankle) remains sidelined, alongside Cheick Doucoure (knee) and Caleb Kporha (back).

Sarr, however, has an outside chance of featuring against the reigning champions this weekend.

“Ismaila Sarr, still a little chance that he’s available for Man City as well.” – Oliver Glasner

Chadi Riad (knee) is “partly integrated” back in the squad but yet to join full team training.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Matz Sels (groin) will miss Nottingham Forest’s clash with Utrecht on Thursday. He has a chance of featuring in Gameweek 16, however.

“Matz has got a tight groin, so we are going to have to be careful with that one. Hopefully that will settle quickly but it’s a precaution one, to make sure that we try to give him the best chance for the weekend as well.” – Sean Dyche on Matz Sels

Ryan Yates (hamstring) has joined the injury list for a longer period of time, however.

“Yatesy has got a situation with his hamstring that is not going to be quick. We don’t think it’s too serious in the sense that it needed anything doing, but I think it’s going to be a slow one, that one. We will wait and see.” – Sean Dyche on Ryan Yates

Chris Wood (knee) remains sidelined, along with Taiwo Awoniyi (knock), Ola Aina (knee) and Angus Gunn (knee).

“Woody is making progress, which is good. He is on the grass and he has had a couple of days on the grass. It is still a bit of a slow-burner, that one; it is not going to be immediate, but he is back out there and just starting the process, so that is good news.” – Sean Dyche on Chris Wood

Oleksandr Zinchenko (groin), Douglas Luiz (hamstring), Dilane Bakwa (hamstring) and Murillo (hamstring/illness) are back in the squad, at least.

“[Luiz, Bakwa and Zinchenko] are in the squad, yeah, and then we will make a decision on it. I think more so with Zinny and Douglas because of their depth of knowledge of their bodies and depth of knowledge of playing and their experience. Bakwa is still coming back from an injured period.” – Sean Dyche

ASTON VILLA

The broadcast section of Unai Emery’s press conference was short on team news.

It was reported earlier in the day, however, that Evann Guessand has returned to training. He missed out on the win over Arsenal with an unspecified issue.

Ross Barkley (knee) and Tyrone Mings (hamstring) remain out.

If I make a couple of subs and play my free hit in the same week, are those subs still made or are they overridden?

Eze seems very likely to start against Wolves after 0 minutes tonight.

Im thinking Saka, Rice, Eze triple up on FH.

    Sanchez - Dub
Chaloba - VDB - ??? (only player Im unsure of - maybe Cash)
    Saka - Rice - Eze - Mbeumo - Bruno
    Haaland - Thiago

A bit all in on certain teams on but why not on FH.

Consider Collins for the final defender spot to double up on Brentford defence

Good shout. I just feel like Leeds have been very attacking lately so not a huge fan of the Brentford double up.

I think Fulham are very overrated. Based on Home and Away stats I would pick Burnley defense (Esteve) over Andersen. There arent that many good defense picks especially if you pick attackers from Arsenal.

Not really. I think taking long throws is a negative. Unlikely to get an assist from long throw and then he isnt present in the box for the ensuing chaos in the box.

You're not picking a Brentford defender with zero attacking returns purely on his underlying attacking data. You must think he has a good chance of a CS as well

? I think Brentford has a decent chance of CS and then VDB is the most likely to get attacking returns as well

What is the upside of Collins over VDB?

I was suggesting to take the risk on the double up rather than picking one over the other.

Also there isn't much between them.

                  VdB 0.13 xGI/90
                  Collins 0.12 xGI/90

I could do that. But I would rather spread the risk a bit. Already betting too much on certain teams (Chelsea def, Arsenal and Man U attack).

                      Fair enough.

FH is a good opportunity to take more risks than your normal team.

I think Andersen is hugely overrated this gw. Burnley are more likely to keep a CS than Fulham. Esteve is a better pick than Andersen.

Based on home and away stats. Burnley concede less at home than Fulham concede away.

That's where these stats, after 15 games of one season, get overrated.

Collins is a bigger attacking threat than VdB.. That's just a no brainer, regardless of a extremely minorly

*minor statistical data. He moves great in a box, got 9 goal involvements last season (quite a few from drawing penalties). He also scored this season in EFL cup, and in friendly, and recently got an assist for Ireland. Also, more DefCon. So yeah, superior pick.

Andersen? Fulham are mid-table team playing against probably 2nd worst team in a league right now that is on a bounce of 6 losses. Also, before City, had Also one of the better for DefCon. "Esteve over Andersen" is just propaganda based on very flimsy stats which favor better early season Burnley form.

How many points do you get for goal involvements? 8 goals, 7 assists in 208 games. None in this season's Premier League. I think he's, currently, overpriced in FPL.

He's a good footballer but an overrated defender for club and country. Prone to a few defensive lapses then tries too hard in an attacking sense to compensate for mistakes. Caoimhín saves his blushes too often.

How are people engaged enough to have paid memberships to FFS, but also so unengaged they don't understand how the Free Hit works with transfers the following week?

      People are saints for replying.

As a general principle, I think it's worth reading the rules of any game before you play it.

Internally debating 2 defenders, 1 attacker or 1 defender, 2 attackers for Arsenal

      Basically:
Hincapie plus any MID to 6.4
      OR
      Rice* plus likely VdB

*was looking at Merino or Trossard, but I think minutes and injury respectively rule them out.

I think the latter, mainly because I can't find a MID in that range I like. Maybe the best is going all another price tier down to Wilson or Anderson.

It's hard to resist a 5.3 defender in easily the best defence going tho.

Depends how many GWs you are looking at, how robust your team is and how many FTs you planning to roll after 16 as you are booking in a transfer with Hincapie

Aren't you booking in a transfer in with any Ars defender though? As the most sensible move will be to bring in Gabriel once he is back..I think Hincapie should start until then.

Not necessarily. For example, you don't need to Timber as he will continue to get starts whereas Hincapie starts is linked with Gabriel. It has been suggested from Arsenal ITKs that Gabriel will be back in full training around Christmas

I've got a quick question on fantasy wild cards. I've already made three transfers this week out of my five available transfers. However, I've just seen that I would like to make another transfer and thought it would be wise to play a wild card instead. If I now use my wild card, will I get my three transfers back that I've already made this game week? So in theory with playing my wild card, I will still have the available five transfers for game week 17?

Damn Minteh. Lost out on .1M profit while I’m unable to decide my transfers.

Harry Wilson as 5th midfielder is not a bad shout.

            Discuss.

I'd say yes for 3 GWs then over to KDH

Wilson is still floating alone in the Antartic unable to biodegrade and will eventually have to succumb to the incineration, like everything else on planet Earth, when the Sun swallows up everything in it's deathly expansion of exhaustion.
              This is our fate.

Prefer KDH or Anderson as the 5th.

zzzz bring in munoz and hes instantly injured for 4-6 weeks which means 8 gws during the christmas schedule. Pathetic game is fpl.

If you can go early and get double and triple price rises from Foden, you can also go early and buy an injury from Munoz. Think it's a good feature tbh. Be better if anyone understood how price changes work.

I bought Munoz as late as I could last gw when there was no indication of any injury

Too much money on rotational keepers, swap one for Dubravka and bank the cash.

Fulham don't create many chances, so doubling up on their attack is bold - even those fixtures. I prefer Wilson over Raul.

              Rest looks ok

            Raya
            VVD Munoz Van Hecke
            Bruno BrunoG Foden Minteh
            Haaland Mateta Thiago

            Dubravka Senesi Stach Gudmundsson

            Would you GW16 FH ??

Will GW17 TC, and still have BB left so thinking it’s a good week to use the FH…

Want to try fit Palmer and Raya into my team but not sure who to else to shift. Minteh and Petrovic > Palmer and Raya leaves me needing 4.1m to fit them both.

            Petrovic
            Timber - Chalobah - Gvardiol
            Saka - Minteh - Semenyo - Foden
            Haaland - Woltemade - Thiago

            Dubravka - King - Reinildo - Gudmundsson
