It’s amazing what a couple of Gameweek 1 goals can do for your Fantasy price. Michu’s arrival to the Premier League was relatively low-key this summer, yet the new Swansea man had racked up 15 goals in La Liga last time round – more than any other midfielder in Spain’s top-flight. Now that he’s hit the ground running with a brace at QPR, the bandwagon has been in overdrive; as a result, Michu has already climbed 0.3 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and, rather conveniently, stolen the headlines away from this week’s differential pick…

Danny Graham’s Fantasy owners have every right to feel aggrieved after last weekend’s blank. With a change in tactics by Michael Laudrup also helping Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge to two goals and two assists respectively, surely an assist wasn’t too much to ask? It wasn’t to be, however, and as the midfielders racked up the points and resultant Fantasy interest, the former Watford man has been overlooked heading into a run of games that sees Swansea play at home five times in the next seven Gameweeks.

There’s plenty of reason to be positive, though. Graham arrived at Loftus Road ahead of the season opener as the top-scoring Premier League player across the pre-season friendlies, grabbing six goals in his final three matches and, prior to the season’s kick-off, a thoroughly-impressed Laudrup revealed he expected his lone forward to comfortably pass the 12 goals accrued in the previous campaign:

“Every day the connection between Danny and Michu looks better and better and we can expect a lot from them. I don’t know what Danny’s record is, but if he stays fit I would say he can score between 15 and 20 goals in the Premier League.”

As the Swans continue their summer friendly form to find the net with a remarkable ease, Graham’s chances of producing in a flourishing attacking unit clearly haven’t diminished after a single Gameweek. Earlier today, Laudrup revealed he has spoken to his wide men, suggesting Graham was left too isolated up front at Loftus Road – a detail he’s sure his side will rectify, starting at home to West Ham tomorrow.

With (SUN, EVE, EDG, WIG) all following the Hammers to the Liberty between Gameweeks 3-8, Graham – priced at 6.0 in FPL and 8.4 in the Sky Sports game, sits with just 7% ownership heading into Saturday’s match. While over 170,000 Fantasy managers have called on the services of Michu, Graham has been transferred in by just 7,000 despite an exceptional run of fixtures. If Swansea pick up where they left off at Loftus Road tomorrow, Graham could well be off the mark and on his way to justifying his manager’s high praise.

Anyone making the RVP investment? I once thought 13m was too much for certain ManU midfielder and lost out big time... But the extra points for a scoring midfielder must mean 13m for RVP is too much no???

Yes. Pool have moved the goal post 3 meters off centre in a bid to place the goals wear Suarez is likely to shoot rather than ask him to shoot towards the goals.

Wow, I didn't know you asked folk on here for advice? 🙂

Well, I would start Vertonghen, Cuellar and Terry (isn't he injured?) for sure.

There's not much between Clyne and Zabaleta, but I suppose Clyne just about.

I got these odds for cleansheets from Paddy Power earlier.

      Man Utd 1.9
      Tottenham 2.29
      Chelsea 2.29

On a different note.....How disappointing is it that Lance Armstrong is losing all his titles. Read all his books and what he went through and achieved after it is one of the most inspiring sporting stories of all time.

Honestly I don't think it makes his accomplishments any less impressive if he used drugs. The only downside to PEDs I see is the potentially fatal side effects, if a grown man wants to risk using them more power to him.

We'll never know. But he didn't fail a drugs test and the word of some disgruntled ex-team mates is not enough.

Im not a fan but sadly many top sportsmen/women take performance enhancing drugs, but unless PROVEN otherwise results/records etc must stand.

For one thing, who will you give it to, the next guy down the list? Statistically they're pretty damn likely to have taken something as well! The only thing that might help is to introduce true life bans so people know the consequences.

In criminal law we decide guilt on witness statements and other non-scientific evidence. As Granville says, the testing of the time wasn't up to speed. If he was clean, he would fight these allegations. He would not stand for the damage to his foundation and the ruin of his reputation.

They will never stop drug cheats. People will always try new ways, new products that get past the screening procedures. They should just let everybody take what they want! Hardly responsible, but pushing the human body to the extremes is what we all want to see, lets just admit it! I know I've thought about someone breaking the 9sec barrier for the 100m, the marathon in under two hours, the TDF finished inside a week.. 🙂

Its tricky, VDV has good fixtures, IF he plays & it looks as though his price will drop tonight 🙁

going for a bit of Kagawa captain this week. Home to Fulham has to be the easiest fixture for the big dogs this week. I have rvp as well, just have a hunch that kagawa will score big this week..

Aren't West Brom pretty solid? Therefore, isn't Bale a bit of a risky captain choice?

They embarrassed an ill-prepared Liverpool last week but they're still one of the worst teams in the league, IMO. If Spurs can't turn them over then it doesn't say much for their campaign either.

+ Bale was unlucky not to score last week.

Do we reckon that Seb Larsson's place is at risk now that AJ has come in? Short term as in tomorrow and also long term?

I doubt it, Larsson's one of their best players.

He also played central last week apparently, with Campbell wide right and McClean on the left. If they continue to line up like that then Johnson should replace Campbell on the right.
