Nigeria, Mali and Morocco are amongst the qualifiers for next Januaryโ€™s African Cup of Nations, whilst crowd trouble causes Senegalโ€™s home game against Ivory Coast to be abandoned with the visitors 6-2 up on aggregate.

Senegal Ivory Coast (Match abandoned with score standing at 0-2 (2-6 aggregate))
Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba started for the hosts โ€“ the latterโ€™s owners will be relieved to hear his substitution early in the second half was purely for tactical reasons. Although Newcastle are yet to confirm, it appears the pair will be available for Newcastle next January after the Senegal’s official news agency released the following statement:

“The match was halted and the Lions of Senegal will not qualify for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. Senegal will now incur a sanction from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).”

Ivory Coast named four Premier League players in their starting line. Yaya and Kolo Toure, Cheick Tiote and Gervinho were all part of the Elephantsโ€™ first XI, while Wiganโ€™s Arouna Kone and West Hamโ€™s Guy Demel were unused subs. It was a former Fantasy favourite, Didier Drogba, who was the main protagonist, though. The ex-Chelsea manโ€™s brace bagged a brace before the match was abandoned after missiles were launched onto the pitch and fires broke out in the stands.

Nigeria 6 Liberia 1
Chelsea duo Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel both lasted the 90 minutes as the hosts booked their place in the African Cup of Nations in January. Moses had a hand in three of the Super Eaglesโ€™ goals โ€“ his free-kick was nodded home by Efe Ambrose within 60 seconds before the former Wigan winger then scored twice. Mikel also found the net, slotting home a spot-kick as Nigeria clinched qualification with an 8-3 aggregate victory.

Botswana 1 Mali 4
West Hamโ€™s Modibo Maiga was amongst the scorers as the visitors clinched their place in next Januaryโ€™s tournament. Fulhamโ€™s Mahamadou Diarra and QPR midfielder Samba Diakite could also be set to travel to South Africa.

Morocco 4 Mozambique 0
The home side overcame a two-goal first-leg deficit to book their spot in Januaryโ€™s tournament โ€“ amongst their ranks are Adel Taarabt, Villaโ€™s Karim El Ahmadi, Liverpoolโ€™s Oussama Assaidi and Marouane Chamakh. Although the absence of the latter pair will have minimal impact for their respective clubs come January, El Ahmadi has started every game for Villa this season, while Taarabt has started to produce the goods for QPR, notching in each of his last two league appearances after regaining a starting role in Mark Hughes’ side.

In Other News…
Theo Walcott has been ruled out of Englandโ€™s game with Poland on Tuesday evening. The Arsenal winger is sidelined with a chest injury sustained in a clash with the San Marino keeper in the opening minutes of Fridayโ€™s 5-0 win. The news immediately casts doubts over his availability for Arsenalโ€™s Gameweek 8 trip to Norwich โ€“ climbing off the bench to grab a goal and assist against West Ham last time round, Walcott had staked a claim for a starting role at Carrow Road but a possible absence could see Gervinho continue on the right, affording Olivier Giroud a chance to lead the line once again.

Chris Brunt has revealed he is on the road to recovery from a hamstring injury.

“I’m not too sure what the overall timescale on the injury is, but it’s coming along. It wasn’t as bad as we thought at first because it felt like a nasty one when I got it at Villa Park, so in that sense it isn’t too serious. The problem is that it’s happened a couple of times now, so this time I want to make absolutely sure it’s right before I come back because it’s no use to anybody doing two or three weeks at a time and then getting another injury.”

The West Brom midfielder limped off against Villa with just 39 minutes on the clock in Gameweek 6 and missed out in the following weekโ€™s home triumph over QPR. While the Baggies continue to flourish under Steve Clarke, Brunt has been a peripheral figure โ€“ injuries have afforded him just two starts this term, with James Morrison proving to be the Hawthornsโ€™ star turn in midfield. Both players started the season priced at 6.0 in FPL and while Bruntโ€™s cost has understandably dropped, Morrison is yet to rise despite returning 40 points so far โ€“ just one less than Santi Cazorla, for example.

Stating an average IQ for a country is not racist in the slightest, as you have probably just realised, hence your retreated stance...

Pretty sad that you waited until the top of a new page to bring it up though.

                I stated a fact.

There's to much illiteracy in our country, and it's quite a big country too. Average IQ of my country hardly bothers me when there are people frmo my country who've made big names too, and there are quite a lot of them. I've seen people who don't like us Indians here, but that really doesn't bother me. Cheers anyway.

The average IQ in India is 81.

                    That is a fact.

I never said that was a bad thing.

I worked in Dubai for almost 2 years, I met many Indian people & made friends with them. I am still friends with them on Facebook.

If I said that the average IQ in the UK is 100, that is also not racist, just stating the findings of an independent study.

The IQ test may be inaccurate.

I dont know how accurate they are.

But, my point was, the average IQ in India, based on the IQ test is 81.

Stating the result of these tests does not make me a racist!!

          It's tough.. have:

          Bego / Foster
          Baines / Gibbs / Cuellar / Hughes / Demel
          Cazorla / Bale / Michu / Pienaar / Sterling
          Lambert / RVP / Ba

Think my defence is strong enough without Gibbs and Silva gives me pretty much nailed on City coverage.

Im playing in a work league on the daily mail site and its a bit different to what im used to as you can only make 5 captain changes and 15 transfers this year plus everyone is mega cheap.

    My team is

    Hart Foster

    Kompany Baines Rafeal Gibbs Clyne

    Bale Hazard Cazorla Pienaar

    RVP Aguero Ba Mc manaman

and i still have 0-7 in the bank

You get points of the players team wins so its kind of a no brainer to load up on the big names!
I personally cant think of anything to do to this team but i am stuck on who to captain over the next 4-5 gws?

I think I had something like 8 West Ham players on a Sunday___I think if I'd had got the Capt choice right I may of gone very close lol. Forgotten about that Mail game now.

I'd say Ivanovic, especially if you already have him since, after their next 6-7 tough games, the fixture list really opens up for Chelsea until the end of the season (at least in all the home games)...

I'll probably bring in a Chelsea defender at that time...

Easy to understand. Since he became a winger last season he scored many fpl points, cs, assists and goals. More attacking points than any other defender during the last 10 gws (rhats a guess, maybe rafael got more). Anyway, the potential is there but he hasnt been good fpl so far this season.

Actually thats because wigan have not had great results so far, 1win 2 draws whereas they were unbeaten in 9 or so games in a row last season. If wigan get a good run, hell have many fpl points again.

Going around in circles with Kagawa Lambert and Berbatov...

    1. If I save trade decision becomes: Bench Lambert or Kagawa
    2. Lambert > Berbatov and bench Kagawa.

    1 or 2? if 1 who to bench? ๐Ÿ˜•

      Flip a coin.

      Why?

Because when the coin is in the air, you suddenly know what you're hoping for ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you already have Baines, it should probably be Pienaar... but that is ridiculously tough...
