Juan Mata’s rapid ascent up the Fantasy rankings have left few in doubt where their allegiance lies in the Chelsea midfield. Mata’s form has stripped Eden Hazard of his “near essential” status after his explosive start to the campaign, with our sights swinging to the Spaniard and his more friendly Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price tag.

While Mata’s appeal is obvious, in this latest article for Members, we both acknowledge the rise of the Spanish playmaker, whilst identifying a trend that suggests that Hazard may yet emerge from his shadow…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What's everyone's thought on playing a wildcard in October?

I normally save mine for a later in the year, in the hope that there are some snow postponements or 'big team' cup rearrangements.

Despite being in top 4500 I'm thinking of using it. Madness?

I guess if you really don't like the look of your team, I wouldn't care about your current ranking. I'm saving mine for a rainy day even though I'm outside the top 100k. I figure it could do more good if there are some monster double gameweeks. Suarez and Torres saved me last year.

Cheers, certainly would keep the wc, things can change quickly with injuries etc. Keeping mine for a rainy day or where it gives me a potential edge.

    Hi,

After a lot of thinking on my WC it all comes down to this:

    Bego sorensen
    Baines rafael saylor wilson mcCartney
    Bale mata sterling XXX XXX
    Rvp ba XXX

    A. Santi, puncheon, berba (0.2 in the bank with no idea how to use later)
B nolan, McAnuff, jelly (0.9 in the bank to do wilson -> sagna after two gws)

    Really appreciate your comments, thanks

But I would consider downgrading Saylor to Hughes or Cuellar and upgrade Puncheon to Maloney. Saylor may not have won his place back yet.

Walters is a shoe in for Stoke, but doesn't do anything. There is the dilemma. I am a Stoke fan and he is definitely Pulis' teacher's pet. Even if he scored 3 own goals he wouldn't get subbed off.

Kightly however, is more lively but you'll probably not get 90 minutes out of him. So it's your call.

As for your options, I'd keep Torres to be honest.

7/8. I think despite their fixtures, Chelsea cover is becoming important, they should challenge for the title. And ofcourse no Bale when he's on shet hot form is risky, but i like the front line, ideally i would have Ba over Berba though but it's a good team.

How is that a bad team? Looks alright to me.

Begovic and Jussi are strong keepers
Defence is okay, probably cut down on either Sagna or Rafael to make room for stronger midfield.
Midfield is solid, good budget player in Sterling, Santi always looks a threat at home, Yaya is inconsistently consistent and Michu is a brave pick for the tough fixtures ahead.
Strikers are strong - RVP may not be worth it but will bring in points, Tevez will too, if he plays.

      What's to hate?

Interesting fact of the day. Referee Bas Nijhuis, the man in the middle at Anfield, is a full time butcher and caused a walk out of an U17 World Cup game after sending off one of the goalkeepers who had just been attacked by a pitch invading fan and retaliating in self defence.

This is the most I've struggled with how to use a free transfer. I have no Tottenham or Newcastle coverage, and I gotta do my transfer TONIGHT. Bearing that in mind, which do you prefer:

    A) Suarez -> Defoe (c) then trade to Ba after 2 GWs
    B) Suarez -> Ba
    C) Michu -> Lennon

Both Lennon and Defoe played 90 mins. Ade is confirmed to have a slight back problem. Defoe is 90%+ assured of a start on Sunday, or am I missing something?

Cisse is showing why ba is the better all round striker. Cisse is capable of wonder goals and can perform miracles but ba is just the more complete player. If we're being honest ba only dipped in form last season because he was put on the left. It's hilarious how undervalued he is in fpl this year as a result. Fantastic though.

not sure. he needs some match fitness but two games in a week might be too much.

Hughes isn't a bad first sub to have.

I'm currently starting El Ahmadi ahead of Sterling. I don't really know why but he's there now so why swap them? I haven't watched any of Villa this season because they were so boring last season, so does he do anything for Villa?

really want to shift Johnson, but can't see any mid for 7.5 or less worth going -8 for

Next week I will dump him, Santi or Brede.

I have to I think. As much as I may like to get Kolarov, getting Wilson in is a higher priority and a longer term move that also leaves more money to upgrade elsewhere.

rival has ShawX, so I need to go different. Wilson is the best bet. But if you want flair and a Stoke defender then Huth is your man

evening all!! Football is really killing me at the moment. Shocking start to fantasy, and City yesterday 🙁

    awful.

Im taking a 4pt hit to bring Tevez back in. I am thinking Kightly for Stokes run, since I will have to lose Yaya (who has gone down anyway and looks set to stay deep for us for the foreseeable future).

    So......

    Yaya to Kightly
    Fletcher to Tevez.

    Would leave me with ..................Begovic
    Baines Vertonghen Rafael Saylor
    Kightly HBA Cazorla(vc) Bale
    Berbatov Tevez (C)
