Aleks Kolarov is a legend around these parts. Two seasons ago I backed the Serbian to shine, only to be left eggy faced as he City man huffed and puffed without impact. Now he’s back and this time it’s personal.

Having crashed the party with a 20-point haul in his last Etihad encounter, Kolarov is being lined up for a start this weekend and even Granville’s taking notice. Having ridiculed my affections for the player and gloried in his failings, the Mancunian has got himself a crush and he’s struggling to fight it off.

This week’s ScoutCast features a lot of Kolarlove, along with the supporting cast of regulars as Granville steals a mini-league march and starts to sound cocky.

Listen in on the Serbian swooning via this link, or stream the episode via the handy player below…

  1. Morning chaps....
Looks like another defensive crisis on my hands

    Baines
    Saylor (maybe rested)
    Demel (out)
    Clyne
    Gunter (dropped)

Worth a hit to get another one in??
    I have Begovic in goal

I'd love a punt on Kolarov, but not really in a position for punts
    3 mil ish spare

    1. Options......
      City
      Everton
      Double Stoke?
      Gorkss to keep price down?

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
    2. Is this for a hit?

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
      1. Argh, ignore me, just read it properly!

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
      2. Yep. Is no Saylor then I'm screwed! Even with Clyne is my third!

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
        1. Could you shoe horn in Jonny Evans?

          • 2 years, 27 days ago
    3. I'd expect Saylor to come back in personally (although that's purely personal opinion, not based on anything solid) so I'd be inclined to ride out the storm this week then sort out Gunter next week.

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
  2. will aguero start against swansea?

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. 60/40 with Balo to partner Tevez I would say. But thats just little old me..

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
    2. Yes IMO. Mancini is on thin ice, and they don't have a game for another week

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
  3. Quick sanity check, thinking A Cole to Huth to allow upgrade of Noble or Michu next week. Good plan?

    Beg
    Hangeland Gorkss Baines
    Michu Mata Cazorla Sterling
    Suarez Tevez Berba

    A Cole, Rafael, Noble

    1.5M and 1FT

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. Yep, seems sensible to me

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
  4. I made my transfer last Saturday pm: Michu -> Pienaar.

    Skillz

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. Seriously? You could be a case study in why early transfers can be a kick in the nuts. Unlucky :(

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
      1. I wouldnt say unlucky, more foolish as Pienaar hadnt even played yet.

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
      2. nah it was due to price rises. still a good long term move.

If anything I should be a case study for awesomeness

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
    2. i made three transfares last saturday PM:
      hazard suarez and michu out
      mata aguero and walters in

      4 point hit.
      had to be done...

      • 2 years, 27 days ago

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
  5. Foster (new) or Federici (FUL) to start?

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. Foster. I still don't think Fed will start. He was useless don't forget!

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
      1. Yeah I haven`t forgotten that. :)

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
    2. Doesn't sound like Federici is necessarily going to play this weekend. I'd start him but expect Foster to be subbed in.

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
      1. Cheers for the reply.

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
  6. Lallana or Walters for a transfer in this week?

Comparison tool says Lallana in most areas but Walters comes out on top when looking at goal threat. Anyone have any pertinent observations?

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. Walters. On fixtures and he's on pens
Just don't watch any Stoke games though!

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
      1. Southampton fixtures are just as nice really, pens would be the deciding factor but that's essentially ALL Walters offers - without them he's utterly pointless (literally :) )

Hmm, I think I just hate the anti-flair that is Walters.

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
    2. Stoke score so few goals that I find it hard to imagine that threat turning into actual goals

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
      1. This is true, I'm being swayed by the fact he did pretty well for me the first half of last season :?

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
        1. I think, like you, I have an unfair bias against the anti-flair of stoke. When ditchwater calms down it will become as dull as them

          • 2 years, 27 days ago
  7. i know this sounds desperate.

    But do i play Guthrie?

I will then have two Reading players in my team(Gorkks too), which i am not comfortable with (monetary issues).

My alternative is to play Rangel. Peanut suspended/ Demel out.

    What should i do...

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. Play Guthrie and hope that he plays far forward. He'll get you more points than Rangel this week anyway IMO.

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
  8. Need help lads, WC week:

    Option A:

    AGUERO/KOLAROV/NELSEN + 0.3 bank

    Option B:

    DEFOE/LESCOTT/HUGHES + 2.5 bank
    ??????????????????????????????????

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. Try another combo.

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
  9. @TuftyMUFC
    Kagawa out for 3-4 weeks.

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
      • 2 years, 27 days ago
  10. Alright then ... so to whom shall I award the captaincy, in your opinion? :-D

    van Persie
    Crouch
    Ba
    Cazorla
    Bale
    Mata
    Baines ... ???

Many thanks for your consideration. :-)

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. Bale! Excited about the birth of his new baby in addition to playing his old team can only mean big returns!

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
      1. Thanks, Empirikal! :-)

      1. Ta, mate. Appreciated.

        • 2 years, 27 days ago
  11. Sorry got pulled away before I could respond to my post on the previous page! So Taylor not looking like a sure bet for Newcastle? Who's the best prospect in the NC defense then?

Simpson looks intriguing at 4.8. He was injured but now back fit? Thinking him or Santon.

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
  12. Do you think koscielny Will start against QPR?

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
  13. If you'd be so kind..

Get rid of Puncheon or Pienaar for -4? Could get Maloney in for Punch (unless anyone better at 5m)

    Cap Tevez or Santi?

    Thanks

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. I wouldn`t do it for a hit.

Tevez for me, just don`t trust Santi enough to captain him.

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
  14. I think I am all set...

    Mannone (Jaaskelainen)

    Baines Rafael Cuellar (Demel, Clyne)

    Hoilett Michu Mata HBA (Sterling)

    Kun (C) RVP Ba

Not sure who to start between Sterling and Hoilett

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. Decent!

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
  15. need to get rid of fletcher..dont fancy him anymore after the last match...so which is the right choice?
    0.2m in bank
    a. fletcher out crouch in
    b. fletcher out ba in and michu out 6.1m mid (morrison) in for 4 pts hit?

    • 2 years, 27 days ago
    1. a) seems like a good transfer to make considering Stoke fixtures.

      • 2 years, 27 days ago
      1. Crouchy.

        • 2 years, 27 days ago

“Last year was quite open for me, I was in good positions, but I was quite lucky because I was getting free kicks and some penalties as well.”
