There's reports that David Luiz's move to Chelsea is off. Nothing confirmed yet so we'll keep an eye on that one.

Even better so more money for Torres. Luiz wasn't good value IMO.

Benfica issue a statement saying an "agreement was not reached with Chelsea FC for the transfer of the sporting and economic rights of the athlete David Luiz Moreira Marinho". The talks are now "closed".

Luiz deal being called off is more bad news for Liverpool fans. This opens the door for a huge offer for Torres. Won't be sleeping easy tonight.

Bosingwa/ Alex now r good options.

Was curious about Luiz as i know nothing about him, yet some people have been saying to me he is blinding (looks a bit slim and lightweight to me).

Personall think 40m for Torres is a waste considering his injury record and lack of consistent form. Plus he is no spring chicken now.

Better going for Aguerro i think...

If the russian is to open his pockets again, chelsea could start next season with torres their main man and aguero playing off him.. no chelsea fan myself, but must admit its exciting..

torres has also played in all league games this season except the birth, so i think we can say he is back to full fitness and not more likely to get injured than anyone else, imo

Ok so I massively cocked up last week. Rooney over Berba is a decison I will rue at the end of the season if I don't win my mini league. Amywayyy, looking forwrd. I WAS going to sit tight this week and roll a transfer over. However with Rooney a massive lump in my squad I have the overwhelming urse to ship him.

So my question to you fine people is a) should I ship him? Or sit tight cos HE'LL COME GOOD (vom) b) or ship him for:

    A) Berba
    B) RVP?

Feedback appreciated. I can't stand to look at him in my squad any longer.

Unusual (but I'd agree not impossible) for Wenger to completely rest players. His normal behaviour seems to be to sub players rather than drop them altogether. I'd say RVP, Fabs have a good chance of playing in both DGW games (if still fit...) but unlikely they'll get 180 mins.

98 is hardly a bad score. no need to kill urself.
At the mo Berbs is a better choice than rooney, but UTD's fixs arent all good. RVP however is in just as good form as berb and has better fixtures. I would get both, maybe get rid of torres next week or summat

I know I know...but a red arrow and outsted from top spot in my mini league has put me on tilt somewhat.

Torres goes next week for Tevez regardless and I intend to have both when I wildcard in GW27. I've just got to accept I can't have both until then. So it's really a case of which one will do best in the next two weeks.

Nice point...hopefully the team sheets will make my mind up for me.

I'm leaning towards RVp, certainly based on the stats in the article above and also it's a differential over my main rival. But we all know Marks magical Berbatov @ Old Trafford formula...last thing I want to do is lose further ground by taking unnceccessary risks!

I appreciate that. Berba is on form and would be a good 'blocker' but with RVP on pens and some fks he wins over berba every day for me.

if RVP is benched however then the berba block wouldnt be a bad move but i still have faith in rooney.

Is anyone getting slightly worried about the recent dip in form for Nani and VDV?

VDV hasnt been performing to his usual ability recently, and has had BPs stolen by the better Modric. Then again, maybe this is just a blip.

Im more worried about Nani, he's been rather anonymous for the past few games now. He scored v Brum but didnt do much else in that match, and was overshadowed by Giggs in both DGW matches. With Valencia returning in ?weeks, he needs to start performing soon. at the mo, its all about berbatov

Would be interesting to see an analysis on Nani with and without Rooney in the team.

I suspect his quitness is partially down to the way the team sets up with Rooney in the side. No doubt when Wayne is there the first plan is to get the ball to him in dangerous areas, which will take away from the amount of possesion afforded to Nani.

If my memory serves me correctly, Nani's best form has been when Wayne was missing from the side and Nani was the man to go to when a United player had the ball. With Wayne out Slur Alex would have adopted tactics to work openings for Nani to run at the opposition and get the ball in space.

I knew Benfica wouldn't sell David Luiz if chelsea didn't pay the 30m...

25m + player ain't good for benfica... we cannot afford chelsea's sallary's, and a good player never goes to a club to see his salary reduced...

very true, rooney looks like a question mark everytime nani is about to do something out wide, he has no idea what will happen, and rightly so, he surely miss the predictability of valencias crosses

Not this season. I used to live in Greenwich - a nice two-mile stroll (stagger) from the Valley. Now I'm two hours away by train.

      true enough ,
valencia started making wonder crosses, rooney started scoring wonder headers

BUT b4 last season he wasnt much of a goal scorer with his head, so even with valencia back soon, we dont know that the headers will return

Nasri or Fabs needed IMO. I had some thoughts and I am seeing recently for some cup games Wenger is rotating Fabs or Nasri on the bench. When Nasri is on the pitch without Fabs he plays centrally and that means huge points!!!! Everybody will get rid I believe so he is my differential for double 27.
