Fears over certain new boys’ starting roles prevented us handing places to the likes of Chris Samba and Lewis Holtby in this week’s article. Instead, we tread a path less risky and roll out three overlooked forwards with game time guaranteed and favourable home ties on their respective agendas this weekend.

Loic Remy

QPR’s record buy made an instant impact on his debut, notching within 15 minutes in a 1-1 draw at West Ham in Gameweek 23. Shackled by City’s backline on his first appearance in front of the Loftus Road faithful in midweek, Remy will be looking to return to goalscoring ways as Norwich roll up to Loftus Road tomorrow.

Harry Redknapp’s side are now unbeaten in four and with home draws against Spurs and City, the R’s will be confident of overcoming a Canaries side that have conceded in 10 of the last 11 Gameweeks. Handed the role of the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 with Adel Taarabt pulling the strings behind him, Remy has played every minute of his two matches so far and offers guaranteed game time and a security of starts that could well see him prosper this weekend and beyond.

The Loftus Road outfit have six enticing looking fixtures in the following seven Gameweeks (swa, sou, SUN, avl, ful, WIG) which certainly bode well for their chances of survival and affords plenty reason for optimism. Priced 6.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and 8.0 in the Sky Sports game, Remy has the potential to prove a mid-price bargain as Redknapp turns to the former Marseille man to fire his side out the drop zone.

Victor Anichebe

So often a peripheral figure at Goodison, the Nigerian has enjoyed a recent run of games which affords Fantasy managers with an intriguing budget option to consider. Mainly utilised on the right due to a recent injury to Kevin Mirallas, the versatile Anichebe was shifted to the lone forward role last Wednesday as David Moyes dropped the off-form Nikica Jelavic to the bench.

An assist in the 2-1 triumph over West Brom maintained a run of form which has now harvested attacking returns in five of the last seven Gameweeks, with four bonus points also thrown in for good measure across that period. Priced at a mere 4.3 in FPL and 6.8 in the Sky Sports game, and with an ownership under 2% in FPL, Anichebe now welcomes Villa to Merseyside tomorrow. Given the game time, he is clearly capable of producing and looks superb value against an out-of-sorts side that have conceded two or more in all but one of their last seven.

Franco Di Santo

The departure of Arouna Kone to the African Cup of Nations has considerably boosted the Argentine’s appeal of late. Moved into the lone forward role vacated by the Ivorian, Di Santo has flourished – scoring in two of the last three, with a couple of bonus points also accrued.

Roberto Martinez’s side welcome Southampton to the DW tomorrow and, from an attacking perspective at least, are starting to finding their form – Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Stoke meant Wigan have notched twice in back-to-back matches for the first time since Gameweek 3. With an upturn in offensive threat, the Latics will be confident of seeing off the Saints and Di Santo, at just 5.3 in FPL and 7.5 in the Sky Sports game, could appeal to those looking for a real short-term differential gamble, with Kone’s return from international duties later this month likely to see Di Santo move back out wide.

        From the article
"While Suarez is a proven goalscorer, there is an unsavoury side that has blighted his game. In November 2010 the player was suspended for seven games for biting PSV Eindhoven’s Otman Bakkal on the shoulder during a league match. This came after the infamous handball incident".

        Can't say we weren't warned.

looking at this too, but only for bench fodder. i fear anichebe may be at risk from not just jelavic, but gibson coming back and miralles there or thereabouts meaning he might not keep place. could be great shout though too, very tempting.

all in all i'd go for pog, cheap, looks like a starter, and i can't really see ALF keeping his scoring streak going, he's been scoring like he's from another planet lately

    WC draft

    Migs, Bunn

    Enrique, Harte, Onuoha, Davies, Clyne

    Mata, Bale, Walcott, Fellaini, Michu

    RVP, Giroud, Sturridge

    1.3M in the bank.

Had fully intended to go with Suarez up top but this selection allows me to have both Fellaini and Giroud for this week with Studge on the bench. Bench a mid for dgw and have 2FT going into wk 27.

I know the pages are moving fast but any thoughts/recommendations appreciated.

Enrique & sturridge are the two I think I'm going with ,
Prefer to suarez & johnson as both good value to keep for weeks after ,whereas Johnson i would not want taking up funds and Suarez well why spend10.5m for liverpools left winger when you cam have the central striker for 7.5m

De Guzman could do the same though

If that's what you want then go for it , and the decent defenders have hardly done much this year ...but I'd like at least one more Rafeal / azpil / nacho in there

Macabbi Tel-Aviv Press Conference ahead of the tie with Le Neavaux Chateau

It”s a beautiful day in Tel-Aviv and the media is out in force for the first press conference of Macabbi manager JK, and he appears to be running late. Then the door opens and JK walks in, looking a little befuddled

Jk “Apologies ladies and gentleman I had something to take care off first, I hope you weren’t waiting too long.”

Haaretz – “It’s ok JK Now things did not go your way in the opening match, do you have anything to say?”

JK – “well, let me start by apologising for not being here last week but i had a couple of things that required urgent attention. Now firstly I would like to start by saying that my reason for being late is simple. I have lodged an official complaint to the UEFA higher-ups. There is a rule that 2 teams from the same country should not be in a group together, this rule has clearly been breached.”

Jerusalem Post – “What do you mean JK, Newcastle United are English.”

JK – “What do you mean they’re English? Have you seen their team, there more Frenchman in there than the whole of the french first division combined”

Iton Tel-Aviv – “Yes, but they play in England”

JK – “Something’s not right here” JK looks around confused

Haaretz – “Anyway JK moving on, you suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of Bilbao last time out, what are your thoughts on that.”

JK – “Well, I’m used to losing, why did these guys even hire me? I mean look at my record. There’s some dude over in Romania who’s know for being useless, I make him look good.”
    The room erupts into laugher
“Now on to the serious stuff. It looked for a long time as though my boys would pull it off, only a moody Scot and a diving Welshman cost me last week.”

Maariv – “Yeah, it looked good for a while, so what can we expect this week”

JK – “well, most of this lot are new, and the ones that aren’t have been retained with good reason. I’ll be giving the lads who went out last week another chance”

Hamodia – “Ok, so will you be doing differently in this role that you didn’t do in Madrid?”

JK – “Well, I was known as something of a risk taker back in Spain, I have assured the chairman that those days are behind me now, safety is the name of the game here.”

London Jewish Chronicle – “Lastly JK, do you have a message for the fans, and for your opposite number, China Mag?”

JK – “To the fans I say שבת שלום ומכבי תל האביב לנצחון (good shabbat and Maccabi Tel-Aviv FTW). To China Mag I say “This is payback for Marveaux you Bar Steward”

Very civil. Interesting how if you click to the left of the hebrew text and drag right, it selects everything from the rightmost part of the text. Right to left script...

    On a WC

    Fed - Reina

    Clyne - Harte - Clichy - O'Brien - Davies

Bale- Mata - Michu - Walcott - Puncheon

    RVP - Suarez - Giroud

    0.4m in the bank

    Ways to improve this team?

I would like to strength the defense (probably drop O'Brien), particularly, bring another Liverpool defender for the DGW, any suggestions???

so far team looking like this

        Cesar Bunn
        Samba Davies _ _ _
        Bale Michu Fellaini Walcott Mata
        RvP Remy Suarez

or do i just drop Cesar to a cheaper GK and fill the defender spots with cheapies to keep power 5 in midfield?

    Hey Everyone,

How essential is having a Enrique essential for DGW?

If i bring him in for Gibbs, will cost me an extra 4pts to have a full 11 for the blank week.

Gibbs out for Rafael? I have Demel, Zab, Cameron and Davies. 6.8 to spend.

It feels like Michu is playing for goals as much as recent games. Sturridge is up against his old club too
