Liverpool serve up a belated double Gameweek treat against a much-changed Swansea side at Anfield. Luis Suarez, Jose Enrique, Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard are the main protagonists, while Michu’s owners are left frustrated as the Spaniard warms the visitors’ bench for the entire 90 minutes:

On the Up

Luis Suarez
The Uruguayan ran amok against a second-string Swansea to deliver a goal and pair of assists in the 5-0 rout. Daniel Sturridge’s arrival had raised concerns over Suarez’s Fantasy prospects but it’s clear he is just as consistent alongside the former Chelsea man and has now scored in three of their four starts together.

Steven Gerrard
Those who handed the Liverpool skipper the armband would’ve been holding their breath as he stepped up to take the first-half spot kick. While Gerrard atoned for his penalty miss against West Brom on Monday to slot past Michel Vorm, suffice to say his decision to hand Daniel Sturridge Liverpool’s second spot-kick of the afternoon did not go down too kindly with his owners.

Daniel Sturridge
Having provided an assist, his haul was surprisingly boosted by Gerrard’s decision to step aside for the second penalty. Sturridge subsequently slotted home and has now produced four goals and a pair of assists in just five appearances for the Reds, with attacking returns in each of his appearances.

Jose Enrique
A goal and assist contribution supplemented a clean sheet as the raiding left-back racked up 16 points, pre-bonus for the Gameweek. With an ownership of less than 5%, Enrique has turned out to be crucial differential for the double.

Philippe Coutinho
Handed a first start since joining the club from Inter last month, the young Brazilian notched his side’s second to suggest he could be a real mid-price option if he can nail down a regular role. Coming in at 6.5 in FPL, Coutinho is likely to receive new interest once the blank Gameweek 27 is past, given Liverpool’s kind run of fixtures.

Going Down

Swansea Squad Rotation
With next weekend’s Capital One Cup final in mind, Michael Laudrup took the opportunity to hand many of his second-string a chance to impress. While today’s result will be hugely frustrating for Michu owners after the Spaniard warmed the bench, it’s fair to say that Laudrup is unlikely to make the same mistake again – today’s display highlighted Swansea lack of strength in depth in spectacular style.

Fabio Borini
The Italian last just eight minutes after replacing Suarez as a sub late on in the second-half. Borini was ushered off with a shoulder injury and post-match comments attributed to his manager suggest a possible dislocation which would rule him out for the rest of the season.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I'm a little behind with the old future DGW permutations...

Am I right in thinking that the only potential news so far is if Everton win their FA cup replay, then ARS v EVE have a blank in GW29, which would be replayed in an unknown gameweek after GW29?

Reason I ask is because I still have a WC so was starting to think about the best time to use it.

88, reasonably happy with that, given I had four one point heroes!

So, Saurez or Sturridge out to get Bale? Looks like my week will be taken up mulling this decision... 🙂

I think it comes down to either

a Saurez out, Bale in play 3-5-2 with Sturridge and Pog benched,
b Fellaini and Sturridge out for Bale in and 6.6 striker I guess Ricky?

I have two frees, and cash. I might even get Sissoko in as my cheap player in a 3-5-2? And keep Saurez...

No real magical insight here. He's at home and I always go with the home player in tight situations. It's worked out okay over the long run.

I could also argue that Stoke are conceding week in week out whereas Norwich have two clean sheets in a row in their last 2 league games.

Guys, a bit of advice please if anyone’s game?

I have 2 frees this week and I’m planning to do:

Guthrie > Bale and to fund it Suarez > ?

At the moment, I would have 5.4m to spend, so I can either do Pogrebnyak (risky as he’s surely going to get dropped sooner or later for not scoring), Graham (risky as A – I would have to do it today and B – No-one is sure when he will come into the team) or Anichebe (risky as he might be injured and is a rotation waiting to happen).

    Any thoughts or alternatives?

None of them are "nailed on". For example, I very much fancy Vidic and Smalling to play at home to Norwich as Fergie will probably want to play Rio and Evans against Madrid again.

    Current team:

    Szcnzncnzny | (3.9)

    Zab | Enrique | Hill | Davies | Demel

Mata (Turned into Bale asap) | Michu | Fellaini | Walcott | Punch

    Suarez | RVP | Giroud

Looking into ways to free up money and still be competitive and I think Mata to Lamps may be the way forward.

I've done a table for the Chelsea midfield just from the last 6 games. I am aware that Mata didn't start the last game but Lamps goal threat is far greater than everybody else and his big chances are very tasty.

    See what you think:

Need some thoughts please any opinions welcome.

Have Sturridge and Suarez, and thinking of selling 1, current plan is Suarez to Cisse for good.

Can currently field 11 for this gw if I sell neither

    Fed (WIG)

    Harte (WIG)
    Demel (TOT)
    Clark (ars)
    Onuoha (MUFC)

    Mata (city)
    Bale (whu)
    Walcott (AVL)
    Fellaini (nor)
    Punch (new)

    RVP (qpr)

    My options are

    1. Hold both for Wigan away gw 28 and keep 2 free transfers for possible blanks in gw 29
    2. Sell Suarez for Giroud or Cisse and swap back next week
    3. Sell Suarez for Cisse for good
    4. Sell Sturridge for Lukaku

    Thanks in advance folks

I'd get rid of 1 of them ... 3) looks better than 2) to me and I'm not overly keen on the Lukaku option.

Assume 3) isn't for a hit? Looks the best option to me.
