As tomorrow’s deadline edges ever-closer, Fantasy managers are turning to a couple of bustling Belgians in their droves as we attempt to ride out a tricky six-match Gameweek. Second and third for forwards in terms of transfers in so far, Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke both look strong mid-price options with games against Swansea and Reading respectively. With five goals apiece in their last six appearances, the duo have been in prolific form of late – we cast an eye over their statistics in this latest article for members:
need to replace silva.
sessegnon or michu?
Top of my mini league, with 2nd placed rival having michu.
but sess is cheaper, and a bigger differential
Any help is appreciatedOpen Controlswho to captain?????
Bale
Sissoko
Sturridge
any ideas peeps!!???Open ControlsNew dilemma
A) Wilson & McAnuff, get Rafael next week.
B) Saylor & Gardner/Puncheon, get Dawson next week.Open ControlsWhich defender are you taking out? I don't like Wilson, Gardner or Puncheon.
Open ControlsMcAuley, probably.
I don't like Wilson either, especially as I already have Begovic.
BUT YOU LIKE MCANUFF?! 😆Open ControlsMcAnuff is truly pathetic 😀 But at least is guaranteed game time and isn't POO. Why would you take out McAuley, he has a game???
Open ControlsI'm talking about taking him out next week.
What favours Gardner is that I can take out Davies instead of McAuley, but I'm not sure that's a better option?Open Controls
B!!!
Open ControlsOK!!! 😀
Open Controls
Thanks
Open Controls
how much is your budget for a mid?
Open Controls5.2 - If I go for Saylor.
Open Controls
My Captain options:
1. Bale
2. Suarez
3. Sissoko
4. Lambert
5. Michu
None are standouts so struggling to choose. Got a feeling with Sissoko against the poor form of Stoke. Suarez for the safe option.
Opinions appreciated.Open Controlstough call, Lambert is tempting, as is Siss. Go with your gut, i can't help you, I'm going with Benteke
Open ControlsGo with your gut. I would go with Sissoko if I had him.
Open ControlsCheers. Yeah on Sissy at the moment. Let's see where I end up by 11:30 tomorrow. 😉
Open Controls
Ready to go, happy I can field 10 with no hits :-
Bunn
Clyne Davies R Martin Pearce
Bale Michu Sissoko
Suarez Benteke (c)Open ControlsNever in a gameweek have I considered so many players I wouldn't be seen dead owning 🙂
Open ControlsThis is the sort of week that fosters madness. Not me though, I am saving a transfer and playing with 10 cos there's no one else I would have in my team. I have standards!
Open ControlsSaving a transfer and playing with 10 is pretty much the best case scenario.
I've planned around this week to keep as many good players as possible.
I saved a transfer last week and had 8 players for this week. I've used 1 FT on bringing Suarez in for Giroud - who I could keep all season. I'll use the other on either Fellaini > Sissoko or Anichebe > Benteke/Lukaku bringing me to 10. I may take a hit to do both.Open ControlsI would do both for the hit. Like you said, they are both keepers and could hoover up the points this weekend.
Open ControlsEncouraging to hear this, I'm leaning towards the hit because I quite enjoy risk taking - and there's no downside when the player you're taking out has a blank anyway.
Looks like I've got to choose between the infinite budget strikers now...Open Controls
I've actually spent time looking at N'zogbia's stats...
Open Controls😆 Same.
Open Controls
They should build in a mandatory 10 second 'period of reflection'...
Open Controls
On overall comparison over their last 4 matches on stats, Benteke comfortably beats Lukaku. But, Lambert beats both.
Open ControlsI do not agree with you. 🙂
Open ControlsThere's nothing to disagree with, it's just stats!
Open ControlsWell, to me, it is the other way around. 🙂
Open ControlsWhich stats did you use? Because we must not have used the same shots on goal, chance of converting, possession in the box, etc stats as I saw...
Open ControlsThis comment has been removed. Please consult our terms and conditions if in doubt on content suitable for posting on this site.
Are you taking into account the Lukaku blank vs. Chelsea?
Open ControlsYes. Makes him even stronger, because his figures come from 3 matches.
Open Controls
Last 4 matches
Lambert 53% (Key 60%)
Benteke 47% (Key 40%)Open Controls
😆
Open Controls
Nope. 1) Benteke 2)Lambert 3) Lukaku on stats alone.
Open Controls
I've decided to have both of these guys this week. Without being able to see the contents of the article I do however believe there isn't a whole lot between these two. People might say Lukaku's stats are better because he has shorter playing time and has been amazingly consistent but you have to also bear in mind that Lukaku plays for a stronger team and while scoring some crucial goals this year hasn't been carrying his team like Benteke has.
Benteke's job hasn't just been to score goals, he's shown great ability as a playmaker by linking the midfield to the attack. He's not only been a strong target man but a source of creativity by using his aerial ability and his strength to hold up the ball and create space for other players.
You might be surprised by this but Benteke is third, only behind Suarez and Berbatov for touches per game as a striker. This tells you how involved he is in their general play and how vital he is. No wonder Lambert has favoured him over Darren Bent, who is essentially a poacher and quite poor at linking up play up top.
But back to my comparison between Lukaku and Benteke. Lukaku's stats might appear better/more consistent but his team have been significantly stronger than Villa this year and have better players overall. Add to this the fact that Lukaku has often been coming on from the bench later on in games and causing tired defenders havoc.
Since Benteke played his first game he has been averaging 85 mins per game, so has practically played every minute and will have suffered the effects of fatigue, regression, dips in form. Lukaku in contrast has averaged 45mins per game since the start of the season, not only is he constantly fresh and free of fatigue, he is also not carrying the burden of being the main source of goals in a struggling team. Instead he's been allowed the freedom to exhibit his talents as a pure striker in a very competent team with no pressures on their back. Thus he's to a large extent freed of the responsibilities Benteke has had all season.
In conclusion, we're dealing with two absolutely massive talents and Benteke's ability has been slower to gather public attention due to him being relatively unknown before this season but gradually his strengths have come to be appreciated as his talent sticks out like a sore thumb every time we watch Villa play.
Go Team Belgium
😎Open ControlsIf I could own both I would, but having got Suarez in this week and already owning Sturridge a -8 can not be justified to swap 1 player with a fixture for another for just 1 GW
Open ControlsI agree. I am having both too, this week, and then one of them will go for Robin next week 😀

Hello. Spare some time to look over this?
Begovic
Davies Clyne Fabio(!) Cameron(!)
Sissoko Bale Michu
Lambert Sturridge
Federici RVP Mata Walcott Distin
What would people do with this lot? 1 FT. My plan is to just do Distin –> Martin. Can anyone see anything better?Open ControlsHow about Distin to Saylor, Santon, or Debuchy?
Open ControlsIf you don't have much invested in RVP you could move him to Suarez and just get him back for GW30. Obvioulsy not worth it if you would lose a lot of value on RVP. I would just want to spend my transfer on attacking points. Southampton will probably score anyway.
Open ControlsI know what you mean and i would normally always prioritise attacking transfers. Only my defence is horrible and i'm happy with my front 8. My next 4 transfers are all planned in defence!
Distin --> Martin
Fabio --> Wilson
Begovic --> De Gea
Cameron --> BainesOpen Controls
I really need to make a decision on this soon.
a) Field 10 and keep Azpilcueta for next week
or
b) Azpilcueta > Debuchy/JEOpen Controls0.2 off being able to swap Mata and Cisse to Sissokho and RVP whenever the United DGW happens. Anyone reckon the price market will change enough for me to be able to afford it?
Open ControlsBunn
Davies Harte Clyne
Michu Sissoko
Suarez
(DDG, Zabaleta, O`Brien, Mata, Walcott, Fellaini, Suarez, Pogrebnyak)
5.0 in the bank, 1 FT.
Thinking of:
Fellaini -> Bale
Giroud -> Benteke
(-4)
Solid transfers? Probably not wise to take any more hits for this week..?Open ControlsA: GJ
B: Enrique
Need to make decision in next few minutes as off to see Jimmy Carr tonight and can't get online tomorrow amOpen ControlsI have GJ but if I were picking now I'd go Enrique purely for the price.
Open Controls
anyone else keeping Aguero despite not fielding 11 this GW?
i would want him back for the DGW, which means it would be an 8 point hit..
btw: do you think he is still nailed on (when fit)?Open ControlsHe is definietely nailed on but being fit has been his biggest issue. The date of the DGW has not been confirmed and you don't want to be carrying 11.8m on your bench for a few weeks...
Open Controls
Is the Arsenal DGW 100000% confirmed?
Open ControlsOnly a 100%, but yes.
Open Controls
So how looking for Gwk 29?
-No 'Keeper-
Davies Martin GJ
Bale (vc) Sissoko Michu
Remy Cisse Suarez (c)
Early predictions, red or green arrow? 🙂
Anyone else on here much better off this week?Open ControlsA) Baines for long-term defender
B) Rooney for striker just for GW29
C) Mata/Walcott for midfielder just for GW29
Please help and also say what def/mid/striker. Thanks!
Bunn
Cuellar l Davies l Harte l Wilson
Sissoko l Michu l Bale
Lambert l Sturridge l Rooney
DDG l Walcott l Mata l BainesOpen ControlsOut of them, Baines > GJ looks OK if you want him long term.
I wouldn't sell Rooney at this time - otherwise I'd get Benteke or Remy this week.Open Controls
Hill in this week and Rafael next week or Samba this and Evans next??
Open ControlsHill & Rafael.
Open Controls
Mata>Michu this week (FT)
Felaini>Lampard GW30
Yes/no?Open Controlsi like it. I think Lampard's going to dominate the last 10 weeks of the season.
Open Controls
So Kebe's been ruled out definitively, so I'll have to take a 4-pointer to field 11 this week. How do these look?
Kebe > N'Zog
Mata > Sissoko
Aguero > Suarez
Is getting N'Zog a really bad idea?Open ControlsOK. The sensible option. N'Zogbia will only disappoint me.
I'm itching to get Benteke in. Will have to wait til next week and QPR (H).Open Controls
2FT, who to transfer in?
A) benteke and sessegnon
B) remy and sessegnon
C) remy and michu
selling silva and pog.
Thanks in advance for the help!Open ControlsIs it worth losing .2 on RVP in order to bring in Benteke/Lukaku and field 11 players this week? It'd be for a 4 point hit. And if so, what's the consensus around these parts on who to pick out of Benteke and Lukaku? Thanks lads.
Open Controlsdo u intend to bring rvp back?
with man u out of the CL, he's less like to rotateOpen Controls
I'm still thinking Remy may be better option over both IF the money saved can be put to good use.
Open Controlstop of my mini league by 20 points:
rival doesn't have suarez but has bale
shall i captain suarez, bale or benteke?Open ControlsTricky this week. I have:
Mingolet, Bunn
Zabaleta, Baines, Onuoha, Davies, Harte
Taarabt, Bale, Puncheon, Walcott, Michu
Suarez, RVP, Lambert
I'm considering:
Zabaleta -> Bassong
Baines -> Johnson
Taarabt -> Sissoko
For a four point hit. With four players not playing this week, plus Onuoha and Taarabt seemingly out of favor, I effectively have six out this week. It seems like the transfers have decent long term prospects, plus I get to keep RVP and Walcott. However, I lose Baines as a DGW prospect, although even that's not set in stone.
All thoughts are welcome...Open ControlsHow is this looking for this GW, guys?
Begovic
Shawcross Cuellar Clyne
Bale Coutinho Michu Puncheon
Suarez Benteke Lambert
de Gea, Walcott, Zabaleta, JEvans
I am however, stuck for captain choice.. If anyone could twist my arm in a certain direction?Open ControlsI'm going for Suarez
Open Controls
So what do we think, 8 or 9 players in the scout picks and no bench? 🙂
Open Controls😆
Open Controls
Having a look at the % owned by stats and there are only six players playing this week who are owned by at least 25% of players. If all of them fail to score then this is going to be one of the lowest weekly averages in history.
The six players are
Bego
Shawcross
Michu
Bale
Suarez
Lambert
How many do you all own? I own all except Shawcross so am confident that I'll get average or above this week.Open Controls
