Our weekly look at the goings-on in the Sky Sports game is rolled out again this afternoon. As always, we cast an eye over the Scout League’s main protagonists, where the leader made significant ground in his quest for the overall crown last weekend. We also analyse the recent trends in the transfer market and check in with Fenners and Merse ahead of tonight’s fixture with the Fantasy Football Club.

The Scout League

With his top spot threatened last week,Chris Pearce turned in a storming performance to sprint away from the chasing pack. Chris’ side “UtakaDefoeKingPearce” was just 13 points clear at the summit prior to the weekend’s fixtures but is now 45 points ahead of Paul McAnulty in the race for the Scout League title. Paul’s “Housewives Favourite” is a further 31 points ahead of Chris Tuck’s third-placed “Vuvuzela Symphony”, while Simon Davis’ “Nags Head Rovers” and Pascal Evans’ pair of Covport teams are tucked in just behind.

Chris Pearce’s Gameweek not only helped establish a solid lead over the rest of the Scout League, it boosted his chances of finishing first in the overall standings. Although Chris remains third overall, he is now just 37 points behind Simon Ward at the summit in the race for the Sky Sports crown and £25,000 top prize – having approached last weekend some 85 points behind Ward, he’s clearly picking up momentum at the right time.

The Scout League now have seven managers in the overall top 20 rankings – as a result, we remain the top Private League on show, extending our lead from 10 to 15 points over our nearest rival.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can still sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.

Market Trends

Five goals in his last four appearances has made Dimitar Berbatov the most sought-after player in the Sky Sports game this week. With a double Gameweek just around the corner, the 7.5 priced Fulham forward has been party to 5.12% of all transfers in ahead of Sunday’s trip to Newcastle – over the last five weeks, the Bulgarian has racked up 31 points, the third highest tally of any player.

Gareth Bale was second most popular prior to last night’s turn of events at White Hart Lane. The Welshman had been subject to 4.94% of all transfers made but, having been stretchered off against FC Basel with an ankle injury, is almost certainly out of this weekend’s home clash with Everton and has a blank Gameweek 33 to follow.

With a home game against West Ham on Sunday afternoon, Liverpool duo Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard are amongst the top five transfer targets this week. Suarez has racked up more points (45) than any player in the last five Gameweeks and, while Gerrard is fifth for this respective statistic over the featured period, his 28 points is greater than any midfielder.

Robin Van Persie, on the other hand, has been the third most unpopular player ahead of the Manchester derby. Only the suspended Marouane Fellaini and injured Theo Walcott have been sold on by more managers, with the Dutchman part of 5.62% of all transfers out. While Van Persie’s recent goal drought is clearly an issue, his owners still had plenty faith as United rolled up to Sunderland last Saturday lunchtime – over 23% handed him the armband, with Suarez second most popular captaincy pick (9%) and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard (6%) further back in third.

The Fantasy Football Club – Tonight 10pm

Chris Coleman is the guest on tonight’s edition of the Fantasy Football Club. The Wales boss joins Fenners and Merse from 10pm on Sky Sports One, with a certain Tottenham winger’s ankle injury sure to be discussed.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Midfield musings, Mata, Puncheon, Michu, Cazorla, Bale.
Bale to Hazard is my intention, its a case of how to line up. Play Mata, hope for the dream that he starts, or put Puncheon in, and hope he starts, his fixture has potential if he did. Any thoughts welcome.

Just seen these pics on twatter, posted by Gibb's brother on instagram.

During the international break, Sagna & Gibbs went to some yacht party in Dubai. You can see bottles of beer in the pic with Sagna in his shorts.

Either Wenger happily let them go (unlikely) or whether he disciplined them before the Reading game remains a question.
P'raps Wenger doesn't know what antics they got up to in Dubai and may not be best pleased when he sees the pictures...We'll see.

Yup Arsene is strict, remember his imposing a drinking ban 10 years back. Probably still has the same policy.

Doubt these pics will come back to haunt them, just shows that Sagna's head really isn't in the game compared to previous seasons. You'd hope he'd been training hard after his injury rather than partying...Likely he'll head to PSG in the summer.

In all honesty he's probably the best option. But Kagawa sat out the replay, Young only played about 15 mins, I'd back both to start the Derby. Young was actually pretty good in the away game. It's just my opinion but I think this will be the team

          DDG

          Rafa* Rio, Vidic* Evra

          Young, Carrick, Cleverley, Kags

          RvP, Rooney*

The *s are doubts with injury but Rafa and Rooney should be fit. Don't rule out Welbeck over Cleverley either

If I were replacing Bale I'd go Duff. Faces 2 of his old clubs in the next 3 - and is just the sort of player to let them know about it. Newcastle look knackered. Chelsea look ripe for a derby turnover if ever they were. And the other game is Villa.

Coutinho played in a white bib before the Villa game, and he started. I wouldnt pay that much attention to it. That said, i think Sturridge will start. Just not sure who he will sacrifice. Could very well see him playing Hendo/Gerrard deep with Lucas left out and Suarez tucked in behind Sturridge.

Worth keeping an eye on. I have 3 Arsenal including Walcott who I will chop if he's out of the DGW. Arteta is an option but he plays so deep and I already have one of them with Osman. Just considering all options.

With Walcott coming back and Gervinho showing signs of form, i think we will see more of Cazorla in the hole. That makes Rocisky a very risky pick anyway.

I can play Sessengone in this mf...

        Sess, sissoko, Michu, Cazorla

Get Fellaini ahead of the double, and wait on Walcott next week. 8 dgw players v 7.

I'm worried Hazard will even feature twice in Chelsea dgw. It's all a bit Lionel, if only Bale got injured after this weekends game. . .
