With a break from Premier League action this weekend, we’re presented with some breathing space to allow us to take stock and assess strategies for success for the remaining Gameweeks.

This season has seen the evolution of template midfields and attacks with the same names rotation across thousands of Fantasy squads. As a result the defence has become a key area for differentials and while clean sheets have been hard to come by all season, the quest for defenders who can return attacking points and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Bonus, remains a key one.

In this latest Numbers Game article for Members, we take a look at the Gameweek OPTA statistics gathered over the past four Gameweeks to analyse those defenders who have offered the best potential in these areas.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        Who drew with Barcelona. Could have got a draw but for some unlucky decisions at the Nou Camp, Beat Rubin, emerged from a tough group with a young promising coach and are playing one of the most out of form teams left in the CL.

          Barcelona away in the Champions League not the same force as at home, but fair enough. I doubt we would those lucky decisions.

          Because we are doing so well at the moment? 😕

          With the fixtures we had in the FA Cup last year it would have been an embarrassment if we didn't win it, and Carlo did his best to throw the league away by playing the f*cking diamond for the first half of the season. It was only when we returned to the system that we were comfortable with from the Mourinho and Hiddink days, that we started playing well again.

          We are 5th in the league, playing like absolute tripe, refuse to drop players who are playing like shit and have a manager that hasn't made a decent substitution in a season and a half.

          I want him out, this is absolutely pathetic to watch and it has been for about four months now.

            This might be a shock, but you won't win a trophy every single year, nor are you entitled to. The utd 2005 team was one of the worst in my memory, but only the complete muppets were calling for SAF to be sacked.

            Ancelotti is a brilliant manager, but it was clearly all about Ray W. :mrgreen:
