Since the turn of the year, it seems that Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has been all about Robin Van Persie. Seven league games have harvested a haul of 10 goals, 2 assists and 15 Bonus Points, with the Dutchman failing to collect Bonus on just one occasion -in the nil-nil home game with Man City- which is, coincidentally, the only game Arsenal have failed to score in since the end of December.

It’s been an extraordinary two months for the Arsenal man, capped off recently with the Gunners’ equaliser in the 2-1 Champions League win over Barcelona. A look at our Members’ OPTA stats for forwards over these past two months not only confirms Van Persie’s form, it also highlights those players who have also been on top of their game and those who need to turn it up a notch.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    With Cahill news who should be replaced in my midfield?

    Walcot - injured with no return date he was only for the double after all
    Fabs- I am waiting news on him he is key differential if he is back and easiest way of bringing Lamps later.
    VDV - I sense he'll be back next week and I want to wait on him and can afford 0.1 price fall
    Adam - maybe best option but I don't have cash will need another hit for another mid.

    Opinion appreciated,
    Cheers

    P.S. First time with only one mid and snow not included.

    Afternoon all! Heading on holiday this evening so gotta do my transfers this afternoon, was thinking the following: fabs-> fellani, Adam -> Barton and Odem-> Rooney for a 4 point hit, will give me 3 Dgw players for the next. 2 weeks. Do these seem any good or any better suggestions?

      Looks decent enough, though I am not sure about Gardner.

      I am thinking about Cahill as well, but what puts me off is his current form (he's knackered) and Everton's opponents. Although they have 4 out of 5 home games I am not convinced they are as easy as the season ticker portrays. All of their next 5 are pretty solid at the back and personally I don't see many goals.

      Silva is on form and although there is no double for City I can see him outscoring Cahill over the next 4 gameweeks.

    I've had a thought. When Torres was at Liverpool, he took pentalies. Lampard takes penalties at Chelsea.

    Have they had any penalties since Torres' arrival? With both players on the pitch?

    There's a possibility that Torres could be given a few to cheer him up a bit.

      did he take penalties? I thought it was gerrard, then kuyt on spot kicks.

      If they do give him some to cheer him up, then I may be tempted.

      the problem I've got this week is that I have lots of good players that need to be offloaded for lots of average players that I don't want. Or I could just field 9 and be done with it. A troublesome week. You know its bad when at least twice in the last week I've seen comments such as "I'm really tempted to get Darren Fletcher in". There will be talk of Phil Neville next.

          I'm going to ditch Fabs and Adam, no problems there. But the thought of losing my beloved RVP for that oik Rooney rankles me more than a rankley thing.

          And there aint no way my lovely lad Djourou is leaving my team. His price to pts ratio is basically a fantasy football love potion in number form.

            Agree on Djourou. Up until a couple of days ago, I was getting rid for Kolarov but then looked at Arsenal's fixtures, Djourou's price and ppg and came to my senses.

            I will definitely sell Fabregas, but as for Adam I don't see that much out there as a replacement apart from Yaya or Barton.

            RVP to Rooney is not an easy call, I might just do it for the craic and pray he scores big at wigan. But I wouldn't be surprised if RVP outscores him in one game (SUN) to Rooney's three (wig, che, liv)

      Unlikely. Lampard has been so consistent for years taking penalties, there is no way they would just switch to Torres. I am quite sure that Lampard penalty stats > Torres penalty stats. For that matter, Gerrard was the number one penalty taker when fit so I really don't see it happening.

    Goreds: you still about?

    About that letter: is there a reason you are writing to them, rather than phoning?

    I would phone them up and ask to speak to the medicine admissions team. If you write a letter to them it will take ages for them to reply and even then they will be asking for your exact qualifications, as every student is different.

    So, yeah, phone them.

        Such is the modern world, when he said 'letter' I just assumed 'email'!

        But yes, if you write a paper letter to them, it's likely you will never get a response. With an email, there's a good chance of a response, but will probably take ages. A phone call is definitely the way to go.

          Email is better because then your request will be easily forwarded to an admissions tutor. If you phone it's unlikely that you'll be told off the top of someone's head, especially with overseas qualifications if you are talking to a secretary as chances are there isn't an easy answer (unless loads of people go to the uni already with those qualifications).

                What would happen here:

                Email, either

                a) Received by wrong person, ignored.
                b) Received by wrong person, passed on to correct person (rare)
                c) Received by correct person, actioned immediately (rare)
                d) Received by correct person, actioned eventually

                Phone call, either
                a) Received by reception, directed to cleaners/estates/gardeners/catering/random department (usual)
                b) Directed to me
                c) Receptionist attempts answer, confuses applicant, applicant applies elsewhere.

                  Maybe KoL's response of email AND phone is the best option!

          I think email then phonecall. You would want a record of your application.

            Yeah, and you certainly want any response in writing so you're completely clear.

          yeah...when i said letter i meant email, i jus wrote letter because when people think of email these days, they don't think of it in the formal way as they do for a letter..

          i think i'll email them today, and if after a week i get no response, i'l try to phone.

          thank you for your interst and advice!!

          i just didn't want to phone because i'm not used to speak in english that much, (i only talk fluid when i speak for 2/3 days non stop) and I didn't want to start choking on the phone.lolol

            Sounds wise. Just keep it simple...you're asking a basic question and your English that you use on here is excellent, so don't worry about it too much. The standard of your English in the email won't have anything to do with your application (they would use an English lang qualification such as IELTS or TOEFL to grade you).

    Thats correct about the fixtures only they 3, but the last league game has not been decided where it will be played (thanks to the bloody split)

    Not one player would make advocaats team, those were the days eh? back when you had sutton larsson hartson we had de boer gio & mols

      Someone please RMT, I'm thinking of the following transfers:

      Fabs --> Lamps
      Walcott --> Nani
      Adam --> Barton
      RVP --> Rooney

      All for a 12pt hit. Ideas will be appreciated 🙂

    If JP Duminy could sneak his strike rate above 100, that would be much appreciated.

    Hopefully they engineer it so De Villiers gets his ton (did Locarno captain him btw?) and JP gets his fifty.....

    It's all going wrong eh?

    I have no gk playing this week. And have Adam, VDV, Fabs, and Cahill in Midfield (I heard that Cahill took a knock at the weekend). Also have RVP....and Berbs & O'Shea might not get a run out either.

    Already I have transfered in Ode -> Tevez (A must have this weekend)

    But I'm thinking also to: -

    Fabs -> A Young / Mierles / Silva

    Stockdale -> Howard and/or Simpson -> Kolarov

    Your advice on my team would be great.....Any other opions worth considering?

    Thanks

    If Kelly is injured, then is it worth taking him out (for 8th point hit) for

    a)Smalling (I have Vidic but UTD DGW?)
    b)Walker (Villa good fixtures, and I have no Villa)

    Thanks!
