As expected, Chelsea have confirmed the re-appointment of Jose Mourinho on a four-year contract. The Portuguese manager will return to Stamford Bridge after finishing his stint at Real Madrid only yesterday and fills the vacancy left by Rafa Benitez’s departure to Italian outfit Napoli.

The club’s Chief Executive, Ron Gourlay, announced earlier this afternoon:

“I am delighted to welcome Jose back to Chelsea. His continued success, drive and ambition made him the outstanding candidate. It is our aim to keep the club moving forward to achieve greater success in the future and Jose is our number one choice as we believe he is the right manager to do just that. He was and remains a hugely popular figure at the club and everyone here looks forward to working with him again.”

Mourinho will be presented to the press officially on Monday June 10 and his return to these shores will certainly add a little more spice to the Premier League as the Blues plot to overhaul both Manchester clubs at the top of the table. We’ll have more on Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge in a forthcoming “Moving Target” report later in the week.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I heard this morning on TalkSport that he has terrible homesickness problems when he's on international duty. I'm going to wait and see with him. Could be a great player though if he settles.

Chelsea just became even more interesting. He left before I started playing FPL so will be a new experience for me. From my memory of his Chelsea times they were very good defensively. Any veterans of FPL care to share their experience of Mourinho from a fantasy perspective?

It's going to be hard to compare at first, the personnel he is inheriting is totally different and there is less emphasis generally on defending.

The statistics speak for themselves though .. 15 goals conceded in his first season in charge including 24 clean sheets and 29 victories.

I never knew of such bridge. A nice bridge at that.

Not quite sure why Chelsea defenders are suddenly gonna be all the rage now, someone explain it to me.

Mourinho's defensive record at Real Madrid was bang average. Back when he was at Chelsea, he had Makelele, Terry and Carvalho all in their primes. He now has Mikel, past it Terry and Ivanovic/Cahill

And he lost the dressing room at Madrid. Players and staff were going through the motions this season, there was no harmony at the club.

In his first season at Madrid they scored 61 goals at home conceding only 12.

Just think his defensive record at Chelsea was more based on the personnel being world class players. But we'll see who he buys now. The current crop won't be too appealing to him.
