Premier League Fixtures Announced

The Premier League fixture list is now published and available for our perusal. We’ll be working on our fixture tickers throughout the day, with the aim to get these to you as soon as possible to offer a means of analysis of the opening six Gameweeks and, if you’re a member, the entire season.

Jose Mourinho’s second stint as Chelsea boss opens with a home game against Hull before the Blues make their way to Old Trafford in David Moyes’ first home match in charge of Man United. Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge clash with Aston Villa, scheduled for Gameweek 3, has been postponed due to European Super Cup duties – if this is moved to Gameweek 1, major investment will be on the cards from Fantasy managers.

Moyes opens his tenure with a trip to Swansea and also squares up to Liverpool at Anfield in the first month – a tricky start for the defending champions, who also entertain neighbours City in Gameweek 5. City’s opening three matches look enticing, though. Manuel Pellegrini welcomes Newcastle to the Etihad in his first game in charge before City face back-to-back matches with a couple of promoted sides – a trip to Cardiff precedes a home showdown with Hull.

Roberto Martinez’s first three games in charge at Everton suggest the Toffees could be quick out the blocks. Trips to Norwich and Cardiff, with a home match against West Brom, will afford plenty optimism from the blue half of Merseyside, while Liverpool have also been handed a decent start, aside from the home game with United.

The likes of Southampton, Spurs and West Ham all look strong investment options over the opening six Gameweeks, though Villa and Swansea have been dealt a blow. Paul Lambert’s side face Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and City in the first six, while Michael Laudrup’s men go head-to-head with United, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal.

We plan to focus on the schedule in further detail over the next few days, with a “Frisking the Fixtures” piece rolled out soon.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

How did it work last season? They left Chelsea gw3 blank and then added it a week later as a dgw?

Chelsea played twice in GW1 and blanked in GW3. That gives chelsea: HUL/AVL mnu BLANK eve. Could be a massive GW1 then moved them out for city players.

Jussi will be expensive as will most West Ham defenders I reckon, all £5m+. Southampton defs/keepers will prob start at £4.5m.

Be interesting to see how much Norwich defs are. Speroni could be a good keeper choice for save points he's been the best keeper in the Championship for years now.

It's easy to have no faith in your team.

I do however. All the top teams have new managers and with the great fixtures we have we could build momentum.

Not convinced in Swansea's potential this year until I see how they cope with Europa anyway. There's a definite trend that mid-table clubs qualifying for that have trouble with the extra fixtures.

    Swa (A) - 4p
    Che (H) - 2p
    Liv (A) - 6 p
    CP (H) - not played
    Man C (A) - 6p

Oh well, looks like my FPL season is over before it's begun. All these fantastic opening fixtures are just too good to be true and I know, I just know, that I'll end up with the wrong players (as usual).

My Hazard(C) will make one assist while Mata scores a brace and bags the baps
My Bale will blank with a YC.
I'll take Aguro over RvP and RvP will score a hat-trick.
My NOR and WBA defenders will all score own goals.

I can feel it in my water.

Nice one. Very simple way of looking at cheap rotations. Next month will see a myriad of complicated variants on this but to be fair when I look at the bottom 5 its going to be relatively easy to pick 2 or 4 defenders and goalies here.

A few seasons ago Utd also had difficult fixtures to begin with, all the talk on this site was to avoid at all costs early doors. United won there early fixtures convincingly and then all of a sudden people where quick enough to realise that United players were essential regardless of there difficult start, fast forward and the same thing is being discussed again, I for one will not be dismissing getting United players just yet.

      Well said.

However, We will probably only have room for one 'premium' striker, and looking at City's fixtures and their relative prices, many will go for Aguero over RVP.

We will probably left looking at the United midfield for options and we'll probably ignore their defence given the fixtures of Liverpool, Spurs, Everton, Arsenal and the Chelsea DGW

RVP is a great option regardless of fixtures.

Defensively you could avoid United in favour of Arsenal/City/Chelsea.

In midfield United have never been a great source of FPL points due to heavy rotation so that will need to become clearer.

Newcastle home will be easy, and you'd back them to do well against Fulham, Sunderland and Southampton.

It certainly means we will look to have sold any Spurs defenders by GW10

Villa's DGW is away to Arsenal and Chelsea. This is excellent as we won't be duped into buying their cheap crap like with Reading GW1 last season.

Considering the fixtures I'm considering going with Aguero ahead of r.v.p already.

Indeed. Price will be key for this one. Aguero could come in up to £3m less!

Feels odd saying this, but Aguero is the crock out of the two. I'm going to wait to see if he can improve on last season before committing on Aguero. He was such a let down.

Honestly, I can't say this enough. Hull are total dogshite.

These type of predictions often come back in the end but I expect them to burn so hard in the Premier League. Crystal Palace too. They both need a 75-90% shake-up of players.
