Premier League Fixtures Announced

The Premier League fixture list is now published and available for our perusal. We’ll be working on our fixture tickers throughout the day, with the aim to get these to you as soon as possible to offer a means of analysis of the opening six Gameweeks and, if you’re a member, the entire season.

Jose Mourinho’s second stint as Chelsea boss opens with a home game against Hull before the Blues make their way to Old Trafford in David Moyes’ first home match in charge of Man United. Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge clash with Aston Villa, scheduled for Gameweek 3, has been postponed due to European Super Cup duties – if this is moved to Gameweek 1, major investment will be on the cards from Fantasy managers.

Moyes opens his tenure with a trip to Swansea and also squares up to Liverpool at Anfield in the first month – a tricky start for the defending champions, who also entertain neighbours City in Gameweek 5. City’s opening three matches look enticing, though. Manuel Pellegrini welcomes Newcastle to the Etihad in his first game in charge before City face back-to-back matches with a couple of promoted sides – a trip to Cardiff precedes a home showdown with Hull.

Roberto Martinez’s first three games in charge at Everton suggest the Toffees could be quick out the blocks. Trips to Norwich and Cardiff, with a home match against West Brom, will afford plenty optimism from the blue half of Merseyside, while Liverpool have also been handed a decent start, aside from the home game with United.

The likes of Southampton, Spurs and West Ham all look strong investment options over the opening six Gameweeks, though Villa and Swansea have been dealt a blow. Paul Lambert’s side face Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and City in the first six, while Michael Laudrup’s men go head-to-head with United, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal.

We plan to focus on the schedule in further detail over the next few days, with a “Frisking the Fixtures” piece rolled out soon.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If I read those stats right for last season, he scored 16 goals on 48 shots, a ratio of 33% that would put him on a par with Cisse in his magical 2011/12 half season.

Think Lampard could be huge to start the season off. Finished strong, started last year strong, should be playing both the opening games now Mourinho's home.

Unless Chelsea sort out a big name striker then he'll be in my team.

Maybe, but stoke's CSs feel off the map towards the end of the season. You could be right tho and he might be £5.5m, which would def make Ruddy/Boruc most tempting.

Excellent work on the rotations but I think you might be disappointed by some of the prices. IMO:

      Bego will be £5.5m minimum
Fulham keeper may be more than £5m, although it would help if there was no clear number 1 when the prices are released
I think the Westwood and Guzan will be £5m too.
We could get lucky with Ruddy and/or Boruc though, so that's the one I'm looking forward to seeing the prices of the most.

Looking at the fixtures, which strategy do we all have when it come's to starting the game off with a bang!

Last season I looked at the dgw in week 1 and when big with 3 Chelsea and 2 Reading. My next train of thought was how to get a starting 11 I was happy with by gw 3. And because of this went with a a cheap west ham defender for their home game at fulham.

So in the end I only picked my team with the first 3 gw in mind and my question to you young folk is, how far ahead do you look when picking your first 15.

3 weeks max, then inevitably WC in the first break.

Planning too far ahead is pointless. Look at everyone's Torres > Rooney plans with 2.0 kept out of their first week teams last year.

Swansea's fixtures after Europa League games (if they qualify) are:

    GW5: Crystal Palace(A)
    GW7: Southampton(A)
    GW9: West Ham(H)
    GW11: Stoke(H)
    GW13: Man City(A)
    GW16: Norwich(A)

A few years ago when Stoke were in the Europa League they struggled to perform well after the Thursday night games and lost 4-5 games out of the six, conceding a lot of goals and scoring few as well.
I can see Swansea having this same poor form due to the similar size of their squads and the intensity at which they'll play the Europa League games resulting in a worse performance in the game 3 days after. So even if Swansea have kind fixtures at the start of the season I'll be avoiding their players.

Has an Arsenal fan steer clear in FF terms. Our goalkeepers rotate more than Rafa Benitez with OCD while using ritalin.

Ruddy and Boruc, or Hart and the cheapest playing GK?

Also, I'm betting that we all have Benteke in our team for GW1, despite the difficulty of his fixtures. I reckon that I will.

True - I posted something similar to that fact earlier.

I had: Ivanovic, Mata, Torres for GW1 which was not the end of the world, but some people really suffered.

Think there are always games like that each season whereby the right choice can really propel you. United's 8-1 against Arsenal another case in point - Rooney captaineers and Young owners went to town and some seriously missed out.

hello lads, just a few things to start

    a) any rotation spreadsheet yet?

    b) United's opening few weeks, wow, I agree with The Stock above, just RvP for me, the treble up with Kagawa and Vidic can wait

    c) Hazard (c) GW1 unless Chelsea get Cavani. huill, AVL is a ridiculous DGW

    d) Double if not triple Norwich for me with those forst 10-12 games (bar Spurs away) Ruddy, RvW and possibly one of Turner or Snodgrass, who do they rotate with?

      c) completely agree! massive dgw

Cheers mate, it may be Jussi and Boruc with a Norwich defender then as Bego could come in at 5.5. if Ruddy is 4.5 it'll change things, but ideally 9.5 on my keepers at most, so 2 from Bego, Ruddy, Jussi, Boruc

So Chelsea start with Hull/AVL then Utd away, blank, Everton away.

I think triple up GW1 then shift 2 of them for a hit in GW2 is the way to go here.
