Charlie Adam is at the centre of an injury scare which could decimate Blackpool‘s survival hopes and dent the end of season fortunes of many Fantasy Managers.
The PFA Player of the Year nominee suffered a knock to his foot against Wigan on Saturday and, although Adam completed the 90 minutes, his foot has swollen badly and he is set to undergo an x-ray to determine the full extent of the problem. Although not considered to be a serious setback, Adam is currently wearing a cast and scan results will reveal whether he will be forced to sit out the impending clash with Newcastle and the matches that follow.
The last few weeks have seen Adam prove a hugely popular option for Fantasy Managers. Blackpool have had run of fixtures which included four consecutive home encounters and, even after the weekend defeat to Wigan, their schedule remains favourable enough to boost Adam’s potential (NEW STK tot BOL mun). The Blackpool skipper has earned over 150,000 investors in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game since gameweek 30.
Even before the recent surge in popularity, Adam has been a stand-out performer and a staple for many Fantasy Managers. An FPL points total of 160 is clear evidence of an outstanding first season in the Premier League and, with an ownership of 36.7% in the FPL, there will be thousands anxious to hear updates from Bloomfield Road in the next 48-hours.
