Our latest Numbers Game article for Members focuses on the two sides dominating our transfer activity going into the weekend. Spurs and City are the benefactors of the last double gameweek of the season and face off next Tuesday in a game that could yet decide a Champions League place.

With so many of their players under consideration ahead of Saturday’s deadline, we delve into the Members’ OPTA data to examine their team and player statistics over the past four gameweeks and the season as a whole. There’s plenty to digest, providing ample reading matter for bedtime or over tomorrow’s breakfast…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Carlos tevez will miss the Everton game on Saturday, and is currently losing his battle to be fit in time for the FA Cup Final:

Maybe, just maybe he's played his last game for Man City 😯

On the back of a run of about 10 games, where he scored 10 goals. Three years ago.

Other than that, all Adebayor's really achieved is two hat-tricks against Derby and one goal against Arsenal.

You get to see more of Rooney's heading though. I'm yet to see him score as good a header as Messi scored in Rome 2 years ago. Might have been a one-off, but there's no certainty.

Barca's pressing is crazy too. Your forwards need serious workrate to make that work as well as that.

They've pretty much settled their placing this season and need to think about how they're going to line up next season. (i.e. experimenting with the Suaroll)

And how many minutes has Torres played of that good form? 32, 9, 24, 15, 61. You're just supporting Tommy's point.

Tommy's point being that Chelsea are playing Torres when they shouldn't.....

Yes because Chelsea's form is largely down to a resurgent Drogba and Malouda, absolutely bugger all to do with the misfiring spaniard.

Also, Carroll was excellent vs Citeh. You want him to be sh*t but he isn't unfortunately.

I think Drogba, Malouda and Lamps getting in form is the reason, not Torres honestly. Torres maybe is having impact on pulling the best of Drogs and the fact that Anelka was benched.

Also very important (never mind someone won't agree) is that Lamps is back. We are very much dependent on him.

the carroll delusion baffles me. a player worth about 8mil goes for 35mil and doesn't get abuse because he's fpl darling andy carroll. imo people confuse being a handfull with being a good player. john carew, agbonlahor and jason roberts are all handfulls, carroll is just a slightly more committed turnip who thanks to swinging his left foot as hard as he can at everything and being 6ft 5 will grab a few goals. he'll never be half the player torres was a liverpool and he cost 10mil more. poor. selling torres for 50mil is no excuse for spending 35mil mil on a turnip. if someone bought a can of coke off me for £5 i wouldn't buy a can of sprite for £3.50 just because i can. i'd buy one for 50p

I am holding Nani - if Chelsea win or draw he will be vital in the final 2 games (Blackburn and Blackpool).

Furthermore, he got the start the last time these 2 teams met at Old Trafford - in the Champions League less than a month ago and he gave Ivanovic tons of problems.

perfect trade. Now is the time to back adam and jarvis imo. The relegation battlers have the most to play for.

Anyone thinking of getting Darron Gibson after his performance tonight? Only 4.9

so much for my theory of stoke putting out a reserve side vs arsenal 🙁

was planning to get walcott this week if it looked like they were going to rest 1st team players.

I went to a restaurant the other day and I noticed that my waitress had a black eye.

I made sure I spoke loud and clear when ordering my food because she obviously had trouble listening.

What do you tell a woman with 2 black eyes?
Nothing, she's already been told twice.

Which is the best move from these? My current starting 11 is below and I'm chasing a 60 point lead on my main rival (who has no DGW players)…

    A) Zamora -> Pavs (no hit)
    B) Adam -> Yaya (no hit)
    C) Welbeck & Fabregas -> Balotelli & Modric (4 point hit)
    D) Terry & Zamora -> Dawson & Balotelli (4 point hit)

    Team:

    Foster
    Kolarov, Baines, Luiz
VDV(c), Silva, Fabregas, Adam, A Young
    RVP, Zamora

    Subs: Stockdale, Terry, Welbeck, Kelly
    Bank0.1m

    Cheers

don't like any of them tbh. I'd do zamora & welbeck -> ba & sturridge (odemwingie if sturridge is still doubtful).
Bench fab if he's still a doubt, if he's declared fit bench adam.

        not worth investing in DGWers?

I've got the same 3 as you and I don't see the appeal in the others tbh.
Tottenham - leaky defence, forwards are crap and rotated, bale king of the 2 pointers, modric plays deep and doesn't have many shots or assist attempts (will sit very deep vs city), bad fixture next week.
City - Certain rotation with 4 games in 10 days including a cup final, dgw is 2 tough games which will probably both be low scoring, the good fixture next week is the 4th game in 10 days and if 4th is wrapped up then he'll probably rotate big time for that one too.

A couple players other than silva and vdv will surely do well in the dgw but imo it's impossible to predict who will benefit.

Yeah, that all makes sense - swaying away from taking hits to get more DGWers in, so if I do then it'll either be Adam -> Yaya or Zamora -> Pavs. Spurs have the easier fixture and will be going for it imo so am swaying towards Zamora _> Pavs. You think he'll start? If so, a decent punt?

Other best options are Ba & Sturridge, but the latter is doubtful right?

I'd go for C personaly, although Balotelli is a risk - but 60 points to catch in 3 weeks is going to take a few risks, and 5 DGW'ers to none/one is a pretty good start ?!

      C. This is your last chance. Fair chance that 60 pts lead will be reduced but all these double Gwers will pose you problem last 2 weeks.

I'm looking forward to having Spurs & City players for the last 2 weeks - they rotate nicely ?!

Only dilema is having to ship out Villa players to get them in when they have quite a nice fixture 🙁

Might not bother though after reading Champ's above post but am going to kick myself if I don't have Silva and he causes a riot !!

Wait till Saturday morning, decision based on fitness of Ba and Sturridge.

you have fair coverage for double GWers. Zamora -> Ba might be the best. Wont cost you 4 pts hit and as WH fights for survival, the games between bottom teams will produce goals. If Ba looks starting this week, go for it.
